As far as I can tell they took my money and ran. I submitted an online order 15 months ago(#602 in case anyone cares to check). I submitted the required materials and they charged me $ 400. The web site says turn around time is roughly 8 months. After 12 months I started trying to contact them. I called every day multiple times for two weeks: no on ever answered and their VM was full. I submitted messages on the«Contact Us» form on their web site: no response. I posted on their Facebook page and got a response from Stephen promising to look into it. That was a month ago and that’s the last I’ve heard, despite repeatedly emailing him and posting again on FB. I can’t imagine that they treat their walk-in customers like this else they’d be out of business in a heartbeat, but online customers BEWARE. Note that the Better Business Bureau(BBB) rates this business an «F» on a scale of «A+» to «F» based on number of customer complaints and failure to deliver: Oddly enough their Facebook page no longer seems to exist( ) and a bunch of negative Unilocal reviews similar to this one are hidden behind a «other reviews are not currently recommended» link. Click through that link to read additional negative reviews that Unilocal is hiding for some reason. Strange things afoot with Hersey Shoes — caveat emptor.

My family wanted to get me custom shoes as I have been suffering foot deformities since birth. We paid $ 460 up front. We called and emailed many times with no reply or updated. We let this go as we thought it might be a family issue understand it is a small business. After a year many would say that is to long to wait we went to the store and asked what happened. The excuse was it had been forgotten about. This does not sound right to me. The said they would have it done in 2 weeks. we went back and they were not ready and nothing to show of progress. At this time my father had gone in I had to work that day. The next day when I inquired he told my father we would get a check in two weeks. This sounded to me like what we were told last time. I went down to ask for the check then or at least something in writing that a check would be issued. They proceed to yell at me that I would get my check. After I let them know I would not leave till I had something in writing and advised them I would be pursuing legal action if they were unwilling to put something in writing. They suddenly had the time to write a check now. They proceeded to taunt me about wanting something in writing. While I tried to leave. This is pretty poor form for any business. I can’t understand how this place is in business. I will update if check bounces.
