I love this place it’s the best of two places in Flint that offer the true turkey hot plate. It has Turkey gravy even most places ruin it by only having chicken or beef gravy(yuck) the portions are large but the price is real good. The place is deck out like the 50’s and 60’s with lots of history to look at Its a great experience and great food who could ask for more.

Wow! We met a friend here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised. The Westside Diner is a Coney Island short order cook type restaurant. They are located nearly on the corner of Ballenger Hwy. and Miller Rd in Flint, Mi. Their water supply is from Flint Twp. Our party ordered a cheeseburger and fries with chocolate malt, Greek salad with a grilled chicken strip souvlaki and rice, and a bowl of chicken dumpling soup with a ham and cheese sandwich. My husband said that his chocolate malt was the best he ever tasted, and that is high praise from him! I was also pleased with the freshness and quality of the food as my salad was tasty, the souvlaki well prepared and yummy. Our friend loves the chicken and dumpling soup and sandwiches they offer. The prices are quite reasonable and you get good value for your money. We have already returned for a second meal and intend to make this our go to Coney Island when in the area. In terms of the décor, they have an Elvis theme going with memorabilia on the walls. Most of the seating is booths and they also have a busy take out window. The bathrooms need to be refreshed and updated. They have ample parking which is good due to the constant flow of traffic. The wait staff is very friendly and out going. They make you feel welcome!

Seriously good food! Real hand formed hamburger patties, fresh fries, excellent homemade coleslaw, coney dog with the best homemade chili topping & softest steamed bun I’ve ever had! Will definitely be back when I’m in the area!

I don’t like to give 4 stars to a diner but in comparison to the other diners in Flint this place shines. I had a hamburger steak dinner. The hamburger could have used more seasoning(it had none) but it was goof otherwise with nice mashed and gravy. What made it stand out in my estimation was the salad, nice fresh lettuce, a slice of tomato, red onion, cucumber, shredded cheese with a nice amount of ranch. We will be back for more than our usual breakfast.

Very flint-esque, so I didn’t expect much, but the staff was very nice and their kitchen and bathrooms were very clean. That can tell you a lot about a restaurant. On to food, I had the taco salad which 6 or so dollars and I was very satisfied with my meal. 4⁄5 would eat here again. Probably will.

A nice local hole in the wall diner, especially for inexpensive and fast breakfast. The place is usually packed on weekends day breakfast time. Eggs, hash browns, toast, coffee and crispy bacon for two people about $ 8. Friendly and attentive service. Usually try to pop in for breakfast when visiting family in Flint.

My wife and I live a few blocks away so we often walk here. Great breakfast specials before 11, and everything else is pretty good too. Good and usually cheap. It’s a little hole in the wall, but usually pretty quiet and relaxed(if not during lunch rush, which still isn’t bad).

this has been my favorite diner in flint. granted the lunch menu is boring for a vegetarian and the veggie sandwhich is only okay the breakfast is pretty baller. i always go in here starving, thinking i should order more than a breakfast plate, but i never have to the portions are totally reasonable, almost too reasonable for the price. i pay 6.25 for a vegetarian omelette with feta cheese, which comes with potatoes and toast. the first time i ate here my omelette was pretty much perfect, the second time my dining companion ordered the same thing i did and it seemed like they ran out of feta between our omelettes since my almost had none on it. they serve malts, which makes me super happy because i’m not a huge fan of shakes and my boyfriend always wants to get them. my only complaint is the rye bread. how can you even call that rye? it’s so mild, my meat eating boyfriend said it really took away from his reuben. i’m giving it a five because its my favorite diner in flint, not because it is the best diner i’ve ever been to.

The waitress touted the fresh ground meat in their hamburgers so I tried it. My meat may have started out free but by the tit the peak of tomato season here me the cook burned it to a crisp it didn’t taste so good. The fries were horrible even for frozen barded fries. How much does a potato cost? It had a nice sized piece of a tasteless tomato on it when eveywhere in town has the best tasting fresh tomatoes locally picked. Iheard they do better at breakfast.

This is probably my favorite diner in Flint. I love the atmosphere! The layout and décor feels more authentic than the Mega(though there will always be a special place in my heart for it). The service is always friendly and prompt. Prices are reasonable, and the food is tasty. Albeit, it’s not the healthiest of selections, but diners never really are. My fondest memories of this place are of being here with Reggie Bell from Kettering. He takes his students to dinner once a semester to this diner. It’s his –favorite-. Sometimes you can spot him here just casually dining. :) Say hi to him and he’ll remember you forever. The Westside employees have taken notice to how many Kettering and other college students frequent the place, and now they offer 10% off of each bill if you present your student ID! Cool beans!

Awesome Diner, visited here while visiting fam fm Santa Monica, CA; It’s good food at a great price. Ate Roscoe’s chicken /waffles in LA5−11−12 yep the one Obama ate at, but had Coty’s chicken /waffles 4÷24÷12, awesome and a better deal, $ 9 for 4pcs /2waffles a large meal at Coty’s and $ 33 at Roscoe’s 8pcs and 4waffles — They make what is called broasted chicken it’s good. Nice staff /owners. Flint has some cool diners and small restaurants you guys should b proud of

This is one of my favorite diners, due largely in part to their amazing malts/shakes. They are so ridiculously thick and you can freeze them and enjoy their deliciousness later. I went recently and had their chili fries — quite good. Their burgers are large and yummy and some of the waitresses are quirky and can be very entertaining — I went with a large group awhile ago and our waitress made many a sarcastic jab at various members of our table — but all in good fun. Unfortunately not open in the wee hours of the morning — but that’s what the Mega is for. The décor is typical 50s diner stuff — lots of Marilyn and classic car models/pictures adorning the walls. It’s between Corunna and Miller on S. Ballenger, and I never would have noticed it had someone else not told me about it.
