The park is over 8,600 acres of wilderness that is good for hiking, fishing, camping, horseback riding and just getting away from it all. There is a 5.2 mile hike that is part of the Florida Trailwalker program. The forest is home to a variety of wildlife and is part of a wildlife corridor that offers the black bear a vast roaming area, a necessity for their existence. Other types of wildlife which are commonly found on the forest include: white-tailed deer, bobcat, fox squirrel, wild turkey, eastern diamondback rattlesnake and great horned owl. Warning; You do have to drive down a three mile dirt road to get there so if your car may get really dirty.
