Ok, for me the test for a Mexican restaurant is their Chile rellenos and Las Fuentes passed with flying colors! Lightly breaded, fresh(not canned) pasilla pepper, rich cheese, and a light sauce – perfection! Chips, salsa, rice and beans all good. Excellent service and can’t beat the lunch prices! I’m a Cali girl here on business and I was impressed.

I’ve been here a few times and I must say, I’ve never had a bad meal. I’ve also read some of the reviews on here and I thought… some people need to stop knit picking. I’ve never had rude service here. Everyone always seems to smile, pay attention, and refill your drinks without you asking. The food is good… you must try the Chicken Chorizo tacos… they are so yummy! It’s always very lively when I come in so it makes for a great experience. The drinks are so good and full of alcohol! I think they’re better than Chimi’s which is right next door. There are a few cons like any other place. The one thing that was a con was the salsa. I’ve had better but other than that, it was great! I’ll definitely be back!

Oh for gosh sakes, another restaurant I really liked the first time that disappointed me on a return visit. My wife works in the area and every week I pick her up for lunch. We both enjoy Las Fuentes the last time we went there and were looking forward to having lunch there today. HUGEDISAPPOINTMENT. When the waiter took our order we both chose from the combo lunch menu. My wife selected a tamale and chicken quesadilla and I ordered a tostada and a chalupa. I asked the waiter if they came with tomatoes and indicated I did NOT want any tomatoes on either of my selections. My wife added, «He doesn’t like raw tomatoes,» and I reiterated, «No tomatoes.» The waiter repeated, «No tomatoes,» then left to turn in our order. When he brought our food my wife’s platter had a tostada on it and the quesadilla — where was the tamale? She told the waiter and he left to get her a tamale. It was then I noticed that both my tostada and my chalupa were loaded with chopped tomatoes. A woman, not our original waiter brought, the tamale and left. Our waiter never returned until the end of the meal. I had to pick off all of the chopped tomatoes, when I would have preferred to send the whole meal back to the kitchen. I’m sorry, I absolutely hate the taste of raw tomatoes as well as the juice from a raw tomato. That marred the meal for me, and I noted that not once did our waiter ask us how everything was. I took the check, paid it, and left. We probably won’t return to Las Fuentes. There are too many other good restaurants in Florrisant.

I’m a chips and salsa addict. I love their salsa! Its the best stuff around! In fact, I always know I’ll take home most of my entrée because I overindulge on the salsa. I typically get Tacos Nortenos. They are so good. Sometimes there’s too much chorizo but I just ask for less now. It comes with 5 and I usually take home 2 – 3. I’ve had other food and it’s all been good.

The food was amazing. Best Mexican I’ve had in awhile. But the service was AWFUL the waiter didn’t even take our order for 25 minutes and he never checked on us or asked if we needed anything. We had to flag him down to get napkins(we had one napkin each) we asked for sour cream and he acted disgusted and basically threw it at me. I have never had such a bad experience with service. It was the worst ever. The food was great but I don’t know if I would come back because of the horrid service

I’m from Cali and there are so many Mexican restaurants there. But this is most authentic and delicious Mexican food I’ve had other than home cooked meals. I ordered in Spanish and they were very nice. Great service. 11⁄10 would go again

I’d been craving Mexican food for a while so I called up a friend of mine and we drove to Las Fuentes. The service was nice. It didn’t take any time at all for our drink orders to be processed. It did seem to take a little long to get our chips and salsa and our main dishes, but it was kind of busy(especially for a Monday night.) As for the food: my burrito carne asada was alright. It could’ve had more flavor but it wasn’t so lacking that I couldn’t finish it. Also ordered a beef taco which seemed under-seasoned as well. Our server was very nice and refills on our soft drinks came quickly.

Sub par Mexican food. Chicken full of fat – has to spit it out. Poor quality of meat overall. Taste just not there. Keep looking for other options on the area, which is tough.

We’ve heard good things about this place, and while O’Fallon’s LACHATA is our bellwether for great Mexican food, it’s quite a long drive for city folk… so we decided to drive half as far and try Las Fuentes. We went for dinner on a Wednesday night, and the place was full of diners. Mostly families, but unfortunately, we were seated in a booth back-to-back with another that seated four teenaged(or early 20-something) girls who were exceedingly rambunctious. Screaming, kicking our booth, blowing soda through straws into the air and spraying other diners(followed by raucous laughter) … yelling, and cursing. The(LOUD) cursing was the scary bit, and made us hesitant to ask them to settle down a little — besides which, this is really the responsibility of the owner/manager(who was busy scaring little kids by walking around in fake boobs and a fright wig — this is no joke!), not the other patrons. In short, some of the other dining patrons, and their free rein to do as they pleased, really ruined the experience, but the food was good enough that we will probably go back for another try and hope the crowd is a little more mature. Chips are hot, fresh, and crispy, and the salsa is really good — not that horrible trendy stuff where they pass one tomato over a vat of cheap chopped onions. I judge Mexican restaurants based on the taste and quality of their chile rellenos, and the ones at Las Fuentes are excellent. The pepper itself was just right — spicy enough to demand a few quick gulps of water at times, but not so hot that it brought tears. LaChata’s rellenos are a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, and the ones at Las Fuentes are an 8 — not bad! Décor is over-the-top funky, with lots of bright and textured paint, varnished-over Polaroids stuck to the walls, and ceiling murals. The tables are clean(soda spray notwithstanding). Portions are HUGE. Anyone who reads my reviews knows I’ve mentioned my huge appetite more than once… and the relleno dinner was a full TWO meals for me(lunch the next day). A huge portion is wasted if it isn’t tasty enough to bother packing up and taking home, and the food at Las Fuentes passes that test. It’s almost as though this place can’t decide what it wants to be. The owner/manager gave off a totally weird vibe with his cross-dressing antics, but our server was pleasant and knowledgeable and completely unfazed by the chaos going on around her. And obviously, a lot of people like the place because it was full on a weeknight, and there are lots of interesting«hybridized» Mexican/American items on the menu that I would like to try if we go back. Time will tell whether the allure of the food actually wins out over the schizophrenic ambiance and draws us back any time soon. Hoping we were just there on an odd night.

Monday, Feb 10, 2014 Totally typical Mexican. Décor, typical. Menu, typical. Beer, typical. Nachos with red sauce smooth not chunky. Menu, typical. Wait staff, competent. Strip mall location but that’s fine. Price, $ to $$. Never mind that Mexican food to me, looks like something somebody already ate.

I’ve come her a few times, but never have I been more excited about my food than when I got the chicken and chorizo tacos they were delicious! Service was great, we were able to get in and out on our hour lunch break. Definitely looking forward to more tacos at lunch!

Cheap pitchers of margaritas nice and strong. However, my thing is… the quesadilla was nothing I couldn’t throw in the microwave at home with a little shrimp and a bag of cheese. I really felt it was lacking any level of «authentic» Mexican food that didn’t come from a chain. Perhaps next time around — I will try something else and report back.

My brother and neices love this place! They have a good quality of food and it tastes great! Its just a little hole in the wall place of a restarant but I think they are really good. Try them out, most positive you will like their food! Also they are quick on getting your order out to you!

I had the Las Fuentes fajita, OMG sooooo good. Steak shrimp and chcen what’s not to like. Huge in size and I had to had to get a to go box. The rice and beans were ok, could of used more sour cream and guac, but Im not complaining. The service was entertaining if that’s your thing and we wee out for lunch in a resonable amout of time. I’ll be back.

They are a little stingy with the food and we paid by credit card so we left tip on table we were about to leave after paying at register when we were done the guy kept looking at us like we forgot something so we were like what and he said tip? We were like huh? he said you didnt at tip? now first that is optional and it is bad taste to ask so we said we left it on table and he actually went back and looked we have ate there many times but have not been back since

Las Fuetes is our favorite Mexican restaurant in North County. The staff is friendly and the meals are reasonably priced. It is also really close to home so that is a huge plus. The chips and salsa are really good. The chip are fresh and the salsa is flavorful, but not too spicy. My favorite meal is the Quesadilla Azteca with its chorizo and beans cooked into the cheese. The margaritas are strong and the tequila tastes cheap to me, but they are worth getting. Just monitor your consumption closely, you can be under the table in no time. :)
