I am shocked by the incompetence of this place. I spent 45 minutes in line and ultimately got NO food because the concert I was at was starting. The staff is slow and chit chatty and confused by every incoming order(which are all basically the same). Stunning display of terrible processes. I literally am emotional about the hour I wasted for you. And now there is no food available. And your job is NOTHARD.

I went to my first game at citi field on sunday and I was really excited to try Blue Smoke because i’ve never had NYCBBQ before. I gotta say, this was a disappointment, the BBQ stand at the double A Binghamton Mets stadium actually serves better smoked meat. My dad got a pulled pork sandwich for $ 10 and he wasn’t too thrilled with it. the $ 14 pick 2 platter is definitely the better deal, I went with brisket and pulled pork and it came with cornbread and beans. Both meats come out sauced, which is a bummer because I’d have liked to try the meat on its own to get a better impression of the smoke flavor. the smoke taste was there but not very up front. the pork and the brisket had different sauces. the one on the brisket was a standard molasses and tomato based sauce, and it was a little better than the average version, it wasn’t as thick with tons of corn syrup. the pork sauce was a thin eastern NC style vinegar sauce with no tomato, which I didn’t care for. The meat was moist enough but it had a very shredded texture, and I like bigger chunks when it comes to pork, and slices when it comes to brisket. I’m kind of wondering if the real restaurant just sends their leftovers to citi field to serve because I did not see a smoker on site. The sides were ok though. The beans weren’t my favorite style but at least they seemed fresh. The cornbread was ok, i’ve had better and i’ve had worse. I got a side of mac n cheese too($ 6) and that was actually pretty decent, it seemed fresh enough and it was nice and creamy with good breadcrumbs on top. The line wasn’t very long but it seemed slow moving, the server I had was nice though. Next time I’m at Citi Field I think I will try something else, overall this is just 2.5 stars from me.

Stadium food doesn’t really exist with a 5 star review in mind. People don’t like getting gouged for a meal during a concert but kind of go with it anyway when(or really, if) hunger sets in. You expect to get gouged but you don’t expect quality too often. I think Blue Smoke and Shake Shack are the welcome additions to Citi Field that at least aren’t one of those aforementioned items. You’ll overpay but you’ll be happy with the food that comes out. At least I was. First off, you don’t have the immense line that Shake Shack does. The SS location here is absolutely baffling to me; people miss parts of their concert or game to get a burger. Guys. GUYS. Simmer down. There are other locations around the city. I went with Blue Smoke out of principle that I wasnt going to wait 20 minutes for food. 5 minutes later we had our items. Beef brat with their specialty cheese, onions on a pretzel bun and a pulled pork sandwich. Both were delicious in every way and the super pleasant folks working the counter sure helped things. Worth a shot. Great BBQ and brats, not much of a wait.

I was all set to give a very nice, four-star review for the brat sandwich I got here at the Met game this past week. I was going to say that the sausage was well-cooked, and the bun was fresh and soft, and the toppings stayed in once I flipped everything upside down. I was going to say that the fries were delicious despite the extraneous spices. My only complaint was going to be the price; that $ 17 for a sausage and fries was a bit high. Then I had a Nathan’s Hot Dog with mustard during the 7th inning and realized that I could have just gotten that and saved myself $ 10.

The stand at Cit Field really does a disservice to the name Blue Smoke. It is vastly inferior to any of the actual dine in locations in not just menu, but in quality as well. The only reason it warrants three stars is because the offerings here are not bad for ball park food. You get the choice of pulled pork, brisket, or bratwurst in either sandwich or platter form(you get to pick 2 meats with the platter). The bratwurst and the sides of cornbread and beans are not bad, because they’re generally pre-made foods anyway, and only really require heating up. The seasoned fries are quite delicious, and probably the highlight of this place. The pulled pork and brisket are terrible… because the versions here are basically pre-made, and just heated up. But like I said earlier, passable for ball park food.

The food here is amazing. I bought the fried chicken sandwich with ranch sauce and it was completely delicious. I’m not sure why people complain about pricing or long lines, that’s just the nature of Citi Field… it has nothing to do with Blue Smoke.

In terms of the«premium» stadium food options at Citi, the line for Blue Smoke is generally way shorter than Shake Shack’s(especially once you realize there are two BS lines, and the one on the left closer to Shake Shack is way shorter because it’s obscured by hamburger-seekers). Plus, you can snag a relatively affordable Maker’s and ginger instead of the standard ballpark Bud Light, which is a win. However, the minuses are many. It’s $ 9 – 11 for the teeniest sandwiches you can imagine – the pulled pork sandwich is basically a three-bite slider. The bratwurst has some of the grossest pimento cheese I’ve ever tasted – it all ended up getting scraped off. And the line might look shorter than Shake Shack, but the staff is so bad that it moves much more slowly and you might just be better off going for that burger you really want. Just having someone out there to expedite and organize would make a world of difference. I’m a big fan of the Blue Smoke over in Battery Park City – one of my favorite summer lunch spots – but this one is most definitely not worth the wait. Get a regular old ballpark sausage(or wait for a Shackburger) and you’ll be way happier.

So the prices go up. And sometimes they are out of ribs… but when those things arent happening… I like grabbing some ribs and beer and enjoying the games(or ignoring the fact that the mets are terrible)… usually i prefer to grab a sausage than waiting on the long line at blue smoke. the ribs are good, but 15 – 20 minutes in a line good? ehhh

Not impressed! $ 21 for 2 sandwiches and a soda. No fries included either! The pulled pork sandwich looked like it had been tossed around like a baseball and only had about a spoonful of meat. I didn’t even have a chance to take a picture before we took it back. They claimed it must have tipped over but yet the new sandwich had about 3x the amount of meat! The chicken sandwich wasn’t great either. I’ll stick with my chicken fingers and fries from the normal concession stand next time.

Citifield has so many good food options you forget you’re here to watch some baseball. After half an inning of soul searching, I decided on BBQ over tacos or meatball sliders. $ 14 platter — 2 meats(got brisket and ribs), corn bread, and baked beans. Got some overpriced Stella to wash it down. Above average cornbread, decent but forgettable beans, average ribs, and overly salty but somehow very good brisket. Not necessarily baseball food, but it hit the spot nonetheless. I’ve never been to their Manhattan location, so nothing to compare the food too, but for the price(and lack of line), I’d say it’s worth it.

Pretty bad and expensive too The pulled pork was too spicy to eat. in addition it was mostly fat. BBQ pork does not need sprinkled red pepper on it. It is not szechuan cooking. The brisket was over cooked. The corn bread had no taste and the beans were disgusting. The cashier threw the food at us and I had to beg for forks. Now how was I supposed to eat it? Never again.

Tasty but the count on the brisket was truly pitiful. The meat didn’t even cover the bun and was somewhat dry. I have been here before and I remembered it being much better. Guess times are tough at Citi Field! The corn bread was quite good. Next time I will wait for Shake Shack where there is actually quality control.

As a kid going to a baseball game meant hot dogs, ice cream, peanuts, soda and pretzels. Nothing fancy. A dog and soda and this kid was happy. At eighteen my taste changed to beer and a dog. Now, bottle beer(craft) and some tasty meats. Blue Smoke satisfies my need for tasty meats and the World Beer Stand right in front of Blue Smoke took care of my beer needs. One very satisfied customer. Blue Smoke is an outpost of the NYC restaurant by said name at Citi Field. The Blue Smoke outpost served some delicious ribs and tasty brisket sandwich on my very first visit to the ballpark. The ribs had smoke and nice seasoning. Flavor was there, but a couple of bones a tad dry. Not the end of the world, but for my $ 10, you know, I want perfect. The beef brisket sandwich, delicious. Smoke, flavor, taste all right there. Very satisfying sandwich at $ 9 or so. Overall, Blue Smoke will be my first stop at a Met game, after beer of course, for food. I give their stand high marks for quality, as well as taste. A bit pricey, but could be worst. Nice job.

When you come to Citi and eat at Blue Smoke you realize that we have come a loooooong way from watery dogs, inedible chicken nuggets and soggy pretzels at the old Shea. The best part about the long lines for Shake Shack is smaller lines for the far better Blue Smoke. I got the BBQ platter which I chose Ribs and Pulled pork. Both choices were delicious. The ribs were fall off the bone and the pulled pork had that slightly vinegary Carolina style flavor I love. It came with a very moist piece of Corn Bread and quite simple the best Baked Beans I have ever had. Not just saying that either, they were tangy and salty with little pieces of pork ends in it. I couldve eaten 2 orders of it. I look forward to going to one of Blue Smoke’s sit down places if the food is anything like this Citifield outlet.

Citi Field has a really great selection of lunch options and Blue Smoke is at the top. I had the Pulled Pork sandwich($ 9) for lunch with a side of fries and a beer. Only $ 23, a bargain. It was worth every penny. The sandwich was delicious, the sauce amazing. The portion size was perfect, a nice lump of pulled pork on a brioche bun. Served in a small box which makes a perfect laptop lunch plate when watching a ball game. The fries(Frites) were also amazing. The small is $ 6.50 and was just the right compliment to the sandwich. They put a really good mix of spices of the fries. If your really in the mood for fries go for the large($ 7.50). They also have a nice selection of sauces to go with the fries, all at $ 1 each. The sauces range from house mayonnaise, blue cheese, chopped manzannilla olives & pepperonchini, bacon, to chipotle ketchup. I’m really looking forward to a trip back to try the ribs. Put this one on your list of must try places at Citi Field. Enjoy, you won’t be sorry.

The first time I ever had the Blue Smoke pulled pork sandwich, I was hungry, and it was only about $ 10-$ 11, so I thought that wasn’t bad to pay for a meal, especially at a ballpark. The first time I ate the sandwich, I just remember it just melting in my mouth, the taste of the pork, the sauce and the bun blended together so well with everything! the pork just soaked into that bun. I’d scoop up any pork left over from eating the sandwich with the little pickles on the side. It just felt right. Right away, I knew it was one of the greatest things I had ever eaten! Soon enough, I couldn’t stop talking about it, I couldn’t stop telling people about the discovery It’s why I think of going back there, going back to Citi Field. And I’m not a Mets fan, believe me, so it’s not to watch a baseball game(although I’d still enjoy that :)), its for one of those Blue Smoke pulled pork sandwiches! :D

Definitely the best spot for food in Citi Field. Most likely you will wait on like, but it moves fairly quickly. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more for the BBQ. YOu’re spending a lot anyway since you’re in a baseball stadium, so go nuts!

Seriously good BBQ in NYC: I’ve been to Blue Smoke five times now and each time I go I discover something new to love about the place. The first time, it was the pulled pork sandwich — killer. Second time, the hush puppies.(If you like hush puppies, you definitely want to order them here!) This last trip, it was mac and cheese. A delicious side but probably a little heavy for anything other than a sandwich unless you want to split it.(We also ordered a half-rack of beef ribs as an appetizer for four… yum.) Since this past trip was a nearly two-hour lunch, we also sampled the coffee and key lime pie. Both were great — the coffee was strong but not burnt, and the key lime pie was perfect — just the right level of tart. Portion size was decent and four of us nibbled at the pie until it was gone — very satisfying. There’s a good drink selection(on one trip, we sampled a few of the beers; on this past trip, we stuck to sodas and coffee.) If you’re looking for a good beer, they’ve got plenty on tap. The servers are fun and very attentive, and on weekdays the lunch rush isn’t too horrible, so you’ll probably be able to get a table without too much of a wait. Weekends can be another story, depending on the time of year, so I’d suggest making a reservation if you’re planning to hit it for lunch on a Saturday or Sunday.
