Koreans make the best wings. and Bön Chon is at the top of the heap. Blows kyochon away. None of that mass produced, killed two years ago and sat in a freezer, b-grade, quasai quail chicken. A must. P.S. Bayside/Bell Blvd and 48th(?) location is on the ball 100% of the time. don’t know how they do it, but they do.

After a long day in Flushing, my friend and I decided to walk to bon chon, get some chicken to go and take the bus home. We got the combo chicken with both flavors and both drumsticks and wings. It was pretty much a great meal. I just wish they gave me radishes in our take out.(Although they did give us coleslaw, which was delicious.) I’m not sure how this compares to the other chons and other korean chicken place but maybe I’ll have the verdict after I try them all out a couple of times.

I’m not a chicken fan at all, but I did very much enjoy the korean legs walking around. Be sure to order so sho-chu korean rice wine, and some french fries and sit by the window. It’s nice to watch the fifth avenue traffic stream on by…

Everytime I visit my cousins, they rave about this place. I finally tried it tonight. The décor is nice, modern and very clean. It was empty when we got there but there were a dozen plus to go orders on the counter. We got an order of large soy garlic drumsticks and wings. The chicken was ultra crispy but I didn’t care much for the soy garlic flavoring. It was a bit sweet for me and not garlicky enough. I felt like I should have gotten the hot flavor or at least half and half. But I really liked how the chicken was prepared and cooked, ultra crispy with minimal breading. The fried chicken is made fresh and takes ½ hour to prepare so either call ahead or get some fries. The staff was also very friendly.

after hearing all of the rave reviews about having to try this AMAZING korean fried chicken, I knew I had to go my next weekend home. I wish I could give it 3 and a half stars. Okay, so the chicken was good, but not anything to call home about. The french fries however were SOGOOD. the dipping sauce(Mentai sauce) with them are sooo addictive, and it came in such a huge serving that i felt guilty not taking them home. the melon shakes were okay, very melon flavored, if you’re into that kind of thing one thing though, beware, the hot fried chicken is HOT.

The fried chicken in this place is 100x better than any other fried chicken I have ever had… KFC ain’t got nothin on these chickens… the restaurant itself is pretty cool. cozy, and seems like a cool place to hang out and eat some chickens. which took me by surprise since i was expecting a dump place with fried chicken smell in the air… Best thing about this place. they serve Soju… a korean sake… which i have never tried either… but figure i needed to drink something while i wait on my chickens. and those things pack quite a punch.20% alcohol content… i got a tiny buzz drinking just half a bottle… I will definitely try out the other korean fried chicken places around the area, but as of now, Bön Chon chickens definitely hit all the right spots and I’m definitely coming back for more…

BonChon Flushing was the last KFC joint on my list. It’s also rated the highest on Unilocal,so I had pretty lofty expectations. I called ahead to ask for a large plate of garlic soy drums and wings, and upon arrival, we had our own«Reservation» sign on a table in an empty restaurant. Awww. Service was pretty good, and the space is clean and crisp(just like the chicken. HAHA). Onto the food. The meat is not as tender as at UFC in Jackson Heights. The flavoring was not as sweet as at Boom Boom in Fort Lee. But the meat is tender enough, and I actually prefer non-sweet sauce. This place is WAY above BonChon in KTown, well above BonChon in Leonia, and about tied with Boom Boom. The fries were a disappointment to me, since they were soggyish. My friends liked them though, and the sprinkling of rosemary and garlic chunks was nice. We lingered quite a bit, and the waiters kept our tea/water refilled. It was completely empty, but it was also a very odd hour(4PM on Sunday). As we were leaving, they appeared to be filming a scene from some Korean soap opera… It was kind of bizarre. So in conclusion, this BonChon is solid, but not quite as good as UFC. Next time I’d like to try the spicy! UFC BonChon Flushing Boom Boom BonChon Leonia BonChon KTown

This is the crispiest chicken I have ever had! It comes beautifully plated, in rows, and the batter is sooo light, it’s like they electrocuted the wings or something. And the fries are hearty thick slices of potato, but I’m not crazy about all the rosemary they put on it. Sooo yum.

Since I work close to Northern Blvd. in Flushing, my co-worker and I decided to try a bunch of different Korean fried chicken places for lunch this week. My parents sampled some too(it’s a family company, ok?). Yesterday, we had Bön Chon Chicken, soy-garlic flavor, which had a ridiculously delicious flour-type breading(as opposed to corn flake-type). My co-worker said he would have wanted extra sauce, but alas, the only sauce we got was the mango sauce for the fries. The fries were ok – seasoned with rosemary, but unfortunately soggy because the box didn’t have holes for ventilation and they were all just piled up in there. And at $ 7.49 for a box of fries(!?), I’m definitely going to pass next time. Granted, it was a big box, but I could get two whole meals at a Viet or Chinese joint for the same price. Anyway, the mango sauce was too sweet to be eaten with fries, so I’m trying to find another purpose for them, maybe Viet summer rolls or something. As with Kyedong and Kyochon, Bön Chon chicken comes with pickled radish as a complementary side. I was supposed to get a salad as well, but they ran out and offered me instead a drink of my choice(soda, bottled water or iced tea). Conclusion: Though the breading was really tasty, overall, the chicken was too greasy for my taste. There’s a huge difference between juicy chicken and chicken that’s juicy from cooking oil hiding in between the layers of meat.

Koreans are known for soju and kimchee… Now fried chicken?! I couldn’t believe my taste buds when I had the varies drum stick at Bön Chon. «Holy Sh**,» I exclaimed! I gotta say, hands down the BEST fried chicken I’ve lay my mouth on! The their spicy chicken was really spicy, but it hurt-so-good, I just had to have more. Who knew my people are so awesome at making fried chicken?! They just need to open shop here in the Bay Area!

In my misspent youth, I once dreamt of Jenna Jameson and Tera Patrick rubbing me down, begging me to turn over. With an abrupt earthquake, the visuals disappeared. My old man was shakin’ me to get up for school. You call that a happy ending? In my so called life, my good dreams in which I remember are far and few in between. I know I reviewed this place before, but I haven’t expressed this much love for an animal since I the days of college and the film«Barnyard Friends.» Although I have an unhealthy infatuation with their chicken, it’s not like South Park’s «Chicken lover.» Their chicken is scrumptious. No drums, just wings. Both flavors. No wings will be left behind. On the last visit(6⁄29), I ordered large spicy(wings only), large soy garlic(wings only), ddukboki(no ramen) and Blue Moon. The waiter looked at me as if I was Takeru Kobayashi in his rookie season(when no one knew he could eat). S questioned me also on why we were ordering for 4. «I love leftovers!» I smiled and proceeded with the order like a blind gundygut who just won the lottery. When in Rome! Ddukboki was a nice start. We also chomped on salad and daikon while we waited for the main event. The waiter brought out this amazing jug dispenser(see photo) with beer in it. Although it had a 5000cc capacity it was only filled to about 2000. In addition, he actually cut the wing order in half and preemptively packed the rest to go(which was a wise move). Ah, but there are troubles in paradise. I have a moot language tug of war with the employees. Either one day the folks will learn more English(than«yes», «no» and«pay now, fat boy!») or I will learn more Korean(than«hello», «thank you,» «the weather is nice,» «big t-ts,» «more beer please» and«goodbye»). Otherwise, S and I look forward to coming to THIS Bön Chon every chance we get. Upgraded to 5 stars. I adore this place. Please, non-believing @$$holes, go to Kyo Chon or the other trendy KFC spots. This one is mine. One nice touch is the designer-like takeout bags with the BC logo they give out. I feel like a «Sex & the City» character who went on a Barney’s shopping spree. Which character am I? Hmm, are there any balding, fat ones? «What did you get today? New shoes, Pedro?» «Nay. Chicken!» Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, Miranda and that Mario Cantone dude simultaneously grimace. As you can see, I would not have gotten the show past the pilot with my poor directorial vision. I dined on leftovers when I got home and for lunch the following Monday. Still delicious! These days, I dream of something else… with that, a moment of Zen: … …. …. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. … …… : come inside, my stomach : : bok bok bok bok love you long time… : : ////////////////////\\\\\\\\ : : \\ bok bok \\ //////bon chon \\\\\\ : :(o}(o} //////\\\\\\\ : : \ \_//) c”} \ \_//) ||||||| \ 0 /|||||| : : \_/_) ‚(_). _\_/_) ||||||| | |||||| : : _|_ -«-(_) _|_ ||||||| /\ |||||| : . . … … … … … … …. .. .. .. .. .. ……: : . : : . . By far the best tasting fried chicken you will ever sink your teeth into. Only 2 flavors but I’m not complaining. The Soy Garlic chicken is so tasty that you can actually differentiate the soy from the garlic. The hot and spicy is just a little too hot for me but very tasty as well. It seems that the hot and spicy wings are easier and tastier then the drum stick cause of the size I think. Like everyone said before, expect to wait a while since everything is made fresh to order. I didn’t mind at all since I was too busy eating my complimentary pickled radishes and a halfway decent salad with russian dressing. The french fries we ordered were perfect and abundant. One large order is sufficient for 2 if not more. They mix a mango sauce with ketchup which actually works as a great dipping sauce for these fries that were covered in rosemary seasoning. Now for the good stuff. … We ordered a large special which is a combination of drumsticks, wings and drumettes. Since this was our first time, I decided we should get half soy garlic and half spicy. Both delicious but I prefer the soy garlic cause it just goes better with the Blue Moon beer they serve. While I was eating all this chicken, I wondered how the hell they get the chicken so crispy and flavorful without being stuck with all that fatty skin. I think I figured it out. They must deep fry the hell out of these chickens in oil that reaches a temperature that is illegally hot that the skin just melts away leaving you with a thin delicious coating that will have you coming back for more. The service was great as well. Our waiter was nice enough to wrap the rest of my chicken along with a brand new bowl of pickled radishes and salad in a nice little travel bag. If you love fried chicken like I do then forget about KFC and all the other crap fast food chains that just glop sauce on crappy chicken and call it a meal and check this place out. It truly is the best chicken I ever had.

I hate to say it, but I like this better than Popeye’s. Read about the Korean fried-chicken phenomenon here: The kicker for me is the thin crispy skin, instead of the American-style thick-batter skin-with-the-fat-still-on fried chicken. The major downside to instant-bonchon grantification is that the chicken is made to order. If you walk in to order, you’ll be waiting 20 – 30 minutes.

Pretty damned good chicken. I usually just get a large order of wing & leg(spicy)…pricey but worth it. Comes out really hot and crispy. In NYC, there just aren’t many options if you want good fried chicken. KFC and Popeye’s don’t cut it when compared to Korean style fried chicken. Pros: delicious Cons: can be a half hour wait after you order pricey

Wow… I love their spicy chicken! The chicken is crunchy and unlike any other fried chicken I have had before. I was first introduced to their chicken at a football party at a buddy’s place, where everyone worked through the real fast. You gotta love how amazing the spicy chicken tastes as you wash it down with a good beer. Since then I am a fan of their chicken. yummm

My sister came home one night, absolutely raving and salivating at the mouth right after having a meal here. The fact that my sister doesn’t really eat fried chicken AND that she was on a diet when she supposedly gorged herself with her meal here intruiged me, so I decided to make a little visit there myself. I went and ate there, and ate there again, and again, it was so indescribably delicious. The orders are taken as either a whole chicken or half a chicken(for smaller groups), and the kitchen hacks it up into manageable pieces which are then battered and fried in a way that KFC and Popeye’s could NEVER touch. Please note: each order is made fresh, which means that the raw chicken is cut up as soon as you place your order. There is no frozen, pre-made business here. This unfortunately also means that your food will take much longer than your average fast food meal to get out to you. Feel free to order the smaller appetizers and beers with your meal to munch on while you wait — those are nothing special, but they do help to tide you over while the good stuff comes out(p.s. whatever you do, don’t order the«hot dog» appetizer — I ordered it with someone once, and it turned out to be just that — weiners that were pan fried up with some questionable veggies and tasted completely unspecial). If «garlic soy» sounds strange to you, I would recommend that you just GOTRYIT. It is a to-die-for combo that go perfectly with the hot, crispy skin on the chicken. There is also the spicy option that not too many people can handle, but for those of you who like the challenge of a nice kick in your mouth, go for it!

I don’t like chicken skin. or drumsticks. or wings. But we had to fight for the last piece because THAT’s how good they were. The skin was so crunchy and flavorful. Definitely recommend spicy instead of garlic soy. If you want to try both, get the garlic soy first. 10 drumsticks + 1 pitcher of beer cost $ 40. Somewhat satisfying for two people.
