This has been a flushing staple since I can remember. The owners of this place were at one time my next doors neighbor. To this day they still make sure that my order is prepared with extra care. The food is great and best of all, affordable. Go to dish: shrimp lo mein with a side of chicken wings. Sometimes you need to drench the food with a little hot oil just to make sure the spice radiates thoroughly.

This place has been around FOREVER, and for good reason! The food is well-priced, the menu is extensive(going far beyond the typical take-out fare), and the food tastes fresh. Cheng’s is a restaurant that holds its own among Chinese Americans, which should really tell you a lot about the quality of food and the pride they take in preparing it. And for those who also enjoy Hispanic homey fried foods, Cheng’s also has a number of latin-inspired dishes on the menu — including chicharron de pollo, fried yuca, and rice and beans :)

So far the best Chinese food in my neighborhood! I love getting vegetable lo mein and sesame chicken from this place. Con-when it gets really busy, expect to wait for your delivery! I once waited an hour for just sesame chicken and lo mein.

Growing up in flushing I know what good Chinese food is. And this place is the best. Their General tso, chicken and broccoli, fried shrimp and my favorite chicken wings in garlic sauce. I am so loyal to them that even if they make a mistake in my order I get a free soda. If the order is less than 20 $ and you want to use your credit card they pay $ 1 extra.

This is my local«GO-TO» spot for Chinese take-out. I usually order from the Vegetable Section on the menu. 9 out of 10 times it is either the Soft Tofu with garlic sauce over Brown Rice OR Broccoli with garlic sauce over Brown Rice. Gotta get the brown rice to put some healthiness into this Chinese food lol Oh yeah, the vegetables are always FRESH! Oh yes, the garlic sauce is ADDICTIVE! HE, on the other hand, always orders the Special COMBO Chicken and Broccoli with garlic sauce over Pork Fried Rice that comes with a side of Egg Roll. There’s more food for the buck I guess. The chicken is always TENDER! The Pork Fried Rice is FLAVORFUL! TIP: You can place your order ahead of time by calling their telephone number(718) 445‑6888, but they are usually pretty prompt with the food even if you order when you get there. TIP: They give you a fortune cookie per order. So if you order 2 dishes, you get 2 cookies hehe NOTE: They do charge you extra for brown rice! Ending Note: I know, I know fast food is not good for us in general but we seldom eat it, so should it be ok? #please-say-yes #guilty-pleasure #once-in-a-while-craving

This restaurant is located in Floo-shing province, Queens, so it BETTER have good chinese food. ANDITDOES! All the dishes that I have had(I have had many) are flavorful, and the food is plentiful. And look who’s coming in to order! Chinese People! In this area of New York, one has many choices of chinese restaurants, so if they are attracting the locals, believe me, they are good. Note that certain reviewers have said, «I had better chinese food in —«. NOOO, you had chinese food that YOU liked better. That is very different from having better Chinese food.

*wipes tear* I used to love this place. Especially when I’ve been craving American Chinese food for a while this is my usually place to order my guilty pleasures like beef with broccoli and general tso’s chicken. I am struggling a bit whether my taste buds have changed or if the quality of the food of this place has tanked since the last time I was there. I dunno… everything is as you’d expect but the food quality isn’t that great. I suppose what do you expect from a $ 5.35 lunch special but still!!! I’m thinking maybe they have changed the cook. *wipes tear*

I stayed near here for three weeks and finally ate toward the end of my stay in Flushing. It was much better than expected! Tasty vegetable dumplings(quite large) and the General Tso’s Chicken was great. Nice staff too.

I’ve been ordering from Cheng’s for years. Ever since I’ve lived in flushing and discovered my love for Chinese food, chengs has been both convenient and satisfying for me. I’ve tried quite a variety of food, but my brother and I have our favorites here. The vegetable fried dumplings are absolutely delicious. I’m addicted to them, and have not(and will not) ever come across a better dumpling and sauce combo. The chicken and broccoli is also a favorite, as well as the general tso’s. Good size portion even in a small, and fills up two based on your sides. The hot and sour soup is also amazing, so satisfying on cold winter days, or just when you’re feeling down. And how can one get by without lo mein? It’s so tender and includes many vegetables. I do tend to add hot sauce to everything, because I naturally like spice, but chengs cooks my food just the way I like. I’ve had Chinese at many friends houses, other locations, but there is no comparison to chengs. I’ll probably always come here for Chinese, even once I move.

Can I just say how refreshing it is to call a Chinese take out restaurant and not get a cranky person on the call? These people are great on the phone and it’s a huge plus. I’m able to order items that fits within my diet. I usually get their shrimp chow ho fun which was REALLY great. Today, I asked if they could make fried rice with brown instead of white rice which they were willing to do. I mean, which other Chinese take out place would be so accommodating?

Cheng’s is my favorite Chinese Food in Flushing. Period. The food is delicious! Everything tastes really fresh and the vegetable dumplings? DELISH! I don’t think that there has ever been anything I have tried from here that I didn’t like. And to be honest, I always compare every other place to Chengs. Its very inexpensive and the delivery is really fast. The outside is a bit unassuming, but the inside is very nice and not like the dive-y Chinese food spots all over the place. A good place to come and eat.

I’ve ordered from Chengs for a couple of years now. I enjoy the quality and consistency… Not to mention how pleasant the owners are when I order in person. Dine-in option doesnt seem too bad. It looks as though they had it set up for a restaurant-style establishment, not just for take-out.

Very disappointing. Menu is very expansive… but the food sucks. General Tso’s chicken as not spicy. Fried rice was… meh. Delivery took over an hour to get to me. The only reason this gets two stars is because the egg roll was okay. Otherwise… I’ve had better Chinese in California. Sad…

Chengs gets 4 stars for one reason only… it really tries to be the best take out restaurant in the area. Food quality is much better than what you can usually expect from a take out joint. My favorite is the chicken with eggplant in garlic sauce. If you need to order take out in this area, this is the best choice.

I live a few blocks away and my friends have been ordering Chengs for years since we were teens not too many years ago :) Love this place we’ve been coming here forever. The food is yummy, the delivery is super quick too. The place has a tasty take-out menu including duck, yuca, roast chicken, and yum house and combo specials. Chengs!

I’ve been eating here for about 7 years and it’s easily the best consistent Chinese food I’ve had. One must order is the scallion pancakes. They’re soft and really tasty especially with the dumpling sauce.

I live across the street so I order out from here a lot. I would say this is a glorified take out restaurant however Mr. Cheng is trying hard to change that image. The food is restaurant quality and it is NOT your usual run of the mill chinese take out joint. The place is clean and the food never looks like it was sitting around and dumped into the container. It always looks like it was made on the spot«with love»(Mom doesn’t even do that!) A usual take out order for me would be: 1 — Hot and Sour Soup or Chicken and Corn Soup 2 — Singapore Mei Fun, Beef with Broccoli, Chicken with Stringbeans, General Tso’s Chicken or Szechuan Beancurd. But they have actual restaurant style dishes that you would find downtown flushing or in chinatown. I just don’t order it because I’m Americanized and dunno what half the menu really means I’ve tried picking random dishes and I haven’t been disappointed yet.
