Saw the previous reviews, and decided to give it a try either way. Food and service were ok. Ordered the half chicken rice–

Love this place… Food is always amazing. I live on Long Island but every time I’m in the area I make sure that I pick up dinner from here and it always puts a smile on my face. Make sure you get extra green sauce it’s amazing! Wish they would put another store closer to my house… Something to think about Chicken Festival =)

Mediocre food, terrible service. Its just roasted chicken they’re trying to pass off as Peruvian chicken. Peruvian chicken is flavorful, juicy, and delicious. Which is everything this chicken wasn’t. They were out of maduros, and beans when I went. How does one run out of beans? The woman who took my order first ignored me for a while. Then when I asked if I place my order with her, replied to me in Spanish and kept speaking in it till I said said I don’t speak it. Then her attitude got worse and she basically told us its the chicken rice and salad, if we want it. Mind you there were people there eating other things. I really wanted the chicken so I disregarded the disrespect, said fine, and took the food home. The guys preparing our food were nice though. So we went home and were just disappointed further with the food. We won’t be going back. Skip this place and go to pio pio or Peking BBQ in woodside, you won’t regret it.

Lunch special consists of ¼ Peruvian chicken, choice of french fries, rice & beans, tostones, or fried yuca, salad, and soda for $ 9. The rotisserie chicken is alright, super crispy skin but the inside is not too juicy. The green sauce is definitely the winner and adds a ton of flavor to the chicken. We had to ask for more green sauce since we just doused our food in it. It goes well with everything. I asked for a passion fruit milk shake instead of the soda option(extra $ 2) but it was worth it. It’s super creamy and has the perfect amount of acidity. The fried yuca are cut in big slices and great when dipped into the green sauce. The place is super informal, you can do take out or sit in. Nice place to get your Peruvian chicken fix!

Love love love this place. I always order take out so I can’t really tell you about their service other then the delivery time is the usual 35 – 45 minutes. The food is cooked really well and everything is always super fresh. All their seasoning and tastefulness seems to be consistently delicious. I’d highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a good tasteful filling meal!

Chicken festival has good Peruvian cuisine for a good price. The establishment offers a look of the open kitchen which is always great. Simple at a good cost. Try the Jalea!

If you like Rotisserie chicken, this is the spot in the Flushing/Bayside area. Clean, Spartan-like Peruvian restaurant. It’s a sit down but not formal. Service is very good. I’ve ordered takeout here and they never mess up my order. The staff seem to care and take pride in their work since they are pretty together. I have to give Chicken Festival their props because some of the restaurants I’ve been to don’t get that good service is part of the success formula. Their rotisserie chicken is very good but my favorite is the chicken Milano — breaded chicken breast that is very tender and not greasy. They are very generous with their portion so I usually share or take half to go. Entrees come with rice and beans. I’ve also tried their chowfa/fried rice, also very good. You can have it with chicken, steak, or shrimps, or all the above(called house special). Every once in a while, I order their salchipapa — hot dogs with French fries. So good and so bad all at once. But eat the salad they give you to start and you’ll feel better. Tip: there’s parking out back… look for the driveway next to the barber shop.

What attracted me here was that this is Peruvian chicken. The place is clean, quaint with a attentive wait staff. I love Peruvian, as usual the lunch dishes are huge. The usual sides salad, beans, rice or fries. Now for the chicken, how was it ? Well it was alright, is just rotisserie chicken not too seasoned . Nothing special, I had better rotisserie from other places .i was expecting a flavor blast, well not here. Nothing special about the chicken, but the lunch was tolerable and well presented. The price was high a soda 2 dollars . One cup of rice, a quarter chicken, some beans and small salad 9 bucks… Total $ 11.75. This lunch did not deserve that price . Still gave it four stars the menu is large and the chicken review was alright. I would hit this place again as it’s tolerable.

I was very hesitant in the beginning to come to this place basing on what I have read on the reviews. It was a good call that we tried the place. We had a good dining experience. I started by verifying over phone the validity of the voucher I got from site. I got a friendly response about it. The place is not hard to find. Got no problem looking for parking. We were welcome by friendly waitress. The restaurant is small but with clean, fresh and relaxing vibes atmosphere. As we were looking in the menu, can’t believe how cheap each of their pricing. We were even surprised how humongous the serving was for its price. The food was not super good nor super bad in taste. My husband had«Bistec a lo pobre”(steak with eggs top eggs with rice, fries, plaintain as sides) and I had their famous half Peruvian Chicken with shared rice from my husband. Their green spicy sauce is a little different from other Peruvian places I tried. It might be their trademark, a little sweet and less spices. I think they made it that way to cater people living in the neighborhood. We ordered a personal size of their seafood salad«Jalea» for appetizer. We ended up bringing most of it home at the end as its servings is good for about 3 people. My husband wish they served beers as it will be really perfect ! We had a good waitress .She answered directly sone questions we asked. Quite but what important was she served us nicely, efficiently and whatever we need was attended sweetly. The kind of service that you don’t feel pressured. Very relaxing I am recommending the place if you want a quiet night to yourself especially if you feel like not cooking for the night. They do take outs and cater as well. During our stay, a lot of customers were picking up orders every 10 – 15 min.

This is a very nice, small, clean restaurant. The food here is very good. The family combo is priced reasonably. Their lomo saltado(steak with tomatoes and onions in brown gravy over French fries) is my family’s favorite. The prices are reasonable. The only downside is trying to find parking.

I always order the half chicken fried rice from chicken festival, and I am always satisfied. Usually takes 10 minutes for my order to be ready. Their fried rice is very good, and i recommend choosing that over white rice. Quite addicting I’m not sure if the parking in the back is for chicken festival but I’ve parked there sometimes.

Not bad, but not great. I have tried a few spots and this one is just quick. The food was ok, the service was good. But nothing like Lima 33 up the road. If your in a rush for a quick meal, this is the spot. Don’t expect too much, it just good enough to get by. Like I said you want great food drive up the road to Lima 33 and no I don’t work there, they have great food. If you want a quick meal to run with come here.

Really great food at my new favorite Peruvian restaurant. I couldn’t find one flaw with this place, other than service not being the greatest. A lovely atmosphere, with a clear view of the kitchen from behind the counter. Roomy and comfortable. I love the menu here. There are many Peruvian specialties, along with other Spanish favorites. The prices are reasonable, but the lunch menu is spectacular. For $ 9, you get a half chicken with rice and beans and side salad. What’s better? The chicken itself was perfectly cooked, with delicious white meat and succulent skin. One of the best Spanish-style chicken dishes I have ever had. The rice and beans were fresh and delicious. We also got an interesting dish, that I cannot remember the name of. It was a mountain of chicken salad, with avocado, egg, and really good dressing. A weird combination, but amazing taste. The salchipapas(fries with little hot dogs) was pretty good, but I don’t really like that type of food. Overall, an excellent restaurant, contrary to other reviews…

I don’t think this food has much to do with Peruvian food but it’s bloody good nonetheless. You can get a whole roasted bird and a salad for 20 bucks I think. Perfect for the nights you can’t be bothered cooking. There are a lot of complaints here that the sauce is too watery. I think it’s fine as long as you don’t assume it’s traditional.

I lived in the area and being peruvian myself was really excited when I saw this place open. There aren’t any other Spanish let alone peruvian restaurants in the immediate area. Anyone who is familiar with peruvian cuisine will be disappointed. When most people think of peruvian food they think if chicken. If you really want authentic food try another place. The food here isn’t bad but the menu is pretty limited. I had the lomo saltado and it was pretty good, not the best I’ve ever had. I’ve had the chicken and again it was good but not the best. Had the ribs and they were pretty tasty but not part of traditional peruvian food. One thing that was pretty annoying was that on 2 or 3 occasions they ran out of chicken which I thought was strange. Again, this place is a good basic Spanish food place but for really great traditional peruvian food, try elsewhere.

Ribs, steak and eggs, empanadas, yuka — horrible. Plantains, rice and beans — bearable. The«green sauce,» known to Peruvian cuisine is dyed with food coloring. a shade of blue — wow. The smell of cleaning supplies while eating. Rap music while eating… Won’t come here again. This place needs to get shut down. Owners, if you’re reading this — I hope you didn’t invest too much or you pick up your shit. Go check out pio pio, see what they’re doing so well. And imitate it properly.

I got the fried fish with French fries and salad(no dressing and fries were too salted) Hubby got the steak with rice and plantains(steak was low quality and thin so rubbery) We’ve had their cassava(yum), chicken(flavorful but just rotisserie chicken) and ribs(good but nothing Latin about them) from catering. They charge $ 70 for a large salad that had shredded iceberg lettuce, carrots, tomatoes and cucumber! We like our other usual spot so, I think I’ll pass. Everything here is too salty…
