This place saved me from storm Jonas! Next time a storm comes, I’ll be there. This is a Szechuan restaurant, known for very very spicy food. They have regular dinner style and hot pot. I picked the Hotpot because it was very cold outside. They are very authentic and bizarre. They serve a lot of internal organs. Apart from the regular gizzards, hearts, liver etc They serve chicken testicles! I have never seen them being served anywhere in the US And of course I ordered it to try it: p Food was good. We ordered the beef, pork dumplings, and chicken testicles. Chicken balls were ok. Overall, very authentic Chinese place. They speak English:)

First time going was for dine-in hot pot. The soup base was SUPERSALTY. Second time going was for take-out Malatan. They made me wait almost 30 mins even thought i ALREADYCALLED for pick up. They told me the chief was eating his dinner, that’s why he forgot to make my food. This is TOTALLYRIDICULOUS! Sounds like«if you want my food, you must wait till I finish dinner» to me. The restaurant and the chief ended up giving no apologize and no discount. WORSTSERVICEEVER!

The food was okay, but their service was inconsistent and need improvement. Overall, this is a fun experience and if you have not tried hot pot before then this is a decent place to start if you are local.

Very bad hot pot store. Since we walk in the store. It’s about 15mins no one give us water or tea. Waitress ignore our questions. Very bad attitude.

As someone from Szechuan, I have problem finding authentic Szechuan hotpot restaurants in the states. While there are many hotpot and shabu restaurants and they all sell Szechuan broth, unfortunately the majority of them are not even remotely authentic. This place offers the most authentic Szechuan style hotpot I’ve had so far in the northeastern region thus I give it five stars. If you have a Szechuan palate like I do, ask for extra spicy and extra Szechuan peppercorns and you will get something similar to the average(not the best) Szechuan hotpot back home.

One star for the old fashion Chinese décor and free wifi; but everything else from this first experience was more of a let down than not. I wish Unilocal would permit half a star because they don’t deserve two for this experience. Ordered lunch to go today; stir fry liver lunch special … It was sliced thin, good flavor but overcooked to a point it was dry, tough to chew and not a happy meal anymore, even tho the flavor was on point. But then I realized how greasy it was and just felt gross for eating it but since I paid for it, I forced it down. The other disappointing factor was that the guy who took my order didn’t even know the difference of diet soda and regular soda @.@” he didn’t know diet soda was sugar free and told me they had none that was, when it was on display behind him. I mean how hard is it to read the label? Lol and he wasn’t very friendly, none of them was :-/ They are new, discounts provided by nearby hotels and flushing promo restaurant guide and websites. I’m hoping their hotpot is better than this. Lastly, their door appears as if they take credit cards but unless you spend at least $ 30 they will just tell you they don’t take credit cards, very misleading and I dislike that a lot.

A place with great decors, definitely reminds you of China. The food is ok, not alot of option and portions are smalll with all you can eat option. The service is horrible however, waited 30mins to get my water refill asked three waiters, none want to do. And the soup too nobody want to refill. Waiters face soo not friendly horrible service.

Had the Northern Style roasted pork for lunch which was tasty. I had no idea it was a hot pot restaurant until I read the reviews on Unilocal. Will return with a group of knuckleheads to go all out.

Still one of the nicer hotpot places in flushing for few reasons. 1. Opens till 2am 2. Interior décor is not your ordinary, unique antique largely scaled handcrafted pieces. 3. The spicy pot is flavorful but yet balanced, doesn’t make your mouth swollen from the spice. The mild milky broth is not as flavorful like little lamb but still alright after boiling half hour later with items tossed in. 4. Doesn’t give you frozen seafood which you have to defrost. 5. They carry imported and marinated hotpot items you will rarely see in usual hotpot fares. 6. Service is nice, humble servers.

Was here for a company dinner. Not as crowded as the other mainstream hot pot place in Flushing. My Szechuan friend really like this place so I don’t doubt it’s authenticity. Spicy hot pot, really spicy. If the dish is not red, beware of the tiny green pepper. Try their live fish wrapped with aluminum foil, served with fire on the plate. Ours was too well-done, maybe when you order, tell them about the temperature. Service is good.

Pricier but worth it. Everything is fresh fresh FRESH, well-presented, and«brimming over» with quality. Surreal interior décor, too – LOVE the semi-private booths! Recommend the Tibet Palm Ginseng Braised Chicken(西藏手掌參 火鍋雞). Blown away by how yummy a(medicinal!) soup can be.

One a.m. In the morning and no other restaurant open is what brought us to this establishment. As a tourist, it was an interesting meal. No one spoke English so we did our best and yes we were a mess, that was the fun part of the meal. The service was fine, the food fresh but at the end(not seeing our tip already placed on the tables behind the plates) the cashier ran out to get us calling«tip tip». Humorous as a story but not so funny at the time.

Dip Dip is an a la carte hot pot spot, which is the way I prefer it because the food tends to look cleaner than the all-you-can-eat ones. It may be just a perception thing, but I appreciate it. The exterior of the restaurant looks very Chinese tacky, and I would’ve walked by this place many times without ever considering it if not for a friend. The interior is neat. The presentation of your dishes here is very neat and organized… as you can tell by the picture. The sliced beef was placed on a cylindrical block of ice, which is probably not necessary, but is a cute gesture that at least shows an attempt at maintaining freshness. The vegetables were of nice quality and cleaned probably before serving(what else could I have said about uncooked vegetables?) The restaurant has a sauce station with all the typical things you would expect at a hot pot restaurant. The soup base here was good, but not great. There was flavor in it, but it was very typical with nothing differentiating it from other restaurants.

came here for the spicy hot pot. We did not do the AYCE option We ordered the beef and the fish combo the combos come with your choice of meat and other vegetables and tofu The spicy hot pot broth was WAY greasier than other hot pot places I’ve been to and the flavor was not as intense as I would like we also ordered the scallion pancake which was cripsy but way to oily and did not enough scallion in it Service was horrible. There was only 2 tables when we were there, so service should have not been so bad Ambiance is big and spacious with cute décor. Maybe I will try other items next time but no more spicy hotpot here for me

Love the broth here and the fact that you can have a table with single pots or a table with sharing pots. They also have a huge seating area downstairs and a private section upstairs.

Dip Dip is not a AYCE place. I will suggest to come here if you have a small party and not a huge party. Because you will end up ordering a lot and pay more. Upon entering, this place looks really clean and huge. I really love their décor. We were seated downstairs because we are celebrating someone’s bd party. Why doesn’t manhattan chinatown has a hot pot place like this? Things I like about this place: — huge and clean — lots of option for hot pot, from seafood to meat, vege… you name it they have it. — have individual pot — they have a sauce station where you can just mix and match any sauces you like for hot pot. Things I dislike — the spicy soup is just a bunch of chili oil and dried chili — no marinated meat I guess they deserve more stars. maybe 3.5 stars. I decided to rate it down because I feel that with the price I pay, the hot pot is not very special. I guess hot pot does taste the same? We asked to bring out the cake as a surprise for our friend. the waiters literally just brought out the cake with the box and plastic bag without lighting up the candles. errr… Anyway. I haven’t try enough hot pot places in flushing to rate this place. because this is flushing, I think there will be better hot pot places.

This place is spot on for hot pot. The serving staff is very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is quite nice. It’s a very large space considering how small their storefront looks. We ordered a regular and a spicy broth for 4 people and far too many foods to cook, and even after all that and 6 beers our bill was only just over $ 100. What a steal. They have an extensive list of meat options, from literally every part of any animal you could wish for. They also have nearly every delicious vegetable you can imagine. For 4 people I think we ordered over a dozen plates probably closer to a dozen and a half. I think we could have been happy with 6. The plates are that loaded, and surprisingly cheap($ 5 for a mountain of delicious thin sliced pork, $ 3 for another mountain of tofu skins or taro mmmm). This is such a great winter dinner, it’s leisurely and your food is always guaranteed to be hot and freshly cooked, literally. They also have a fantastic sauce bar, mix and match to your hearts content. I can’t wait to go back. Just note though that they literally only do hot pot here, nothing else. And they definitely specialize in it.

I’m really impressed by the restaurants décor and layout. The entire setting is a bamboo roofed house with booth seating on the left and a waterfall on the right over one of the rooftop leading to the fountain downstairs. We had a party of 10, and the staff was friendly and very helpful in all of our needs. What I didnt know was how small actual pots were going to be. Seriously believe that these were dog bowls. Whats up with that? The prices are a bit hefty and everything was frozen. But portion sizes were decent, and food was clean unlike some of the other hot pot places around. I would check this place out, but be prepared to dip dip into your wallet a little deeper in order to be full. On another note: All of us with the spicy broth got owned in the bathroom the next morning. And the broth was mostly hot oil and peppers. You have been warned!
