I’ve been to this place countless times as it’s one of my favorite restaurants. I love Afghan cuisine and this place does it perfectly. It’s a bit small/narrow when you enter but they have a decent amount of seating once you’re inside. The service is excellent, they come by you several times to make sure everything’s okay. My favorite thing to order is the beef barg, which is boneless strips of steak that are juicy and flavorful. On the weekends, they have green rice, which is absolutely delicious. It’s made with dill and lima beans I believe. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Great service. The staff members are always there to help and they do not keep you waiting. Very helpful. Food is great. Actually amazing. Huge and very generous portions.

By far the best afghan food in NYC, the sultani kebab and barg combo with all 3 rices is so good. Before the renovated the food was a bit better, but cant complain, they still got good food.

My first time here and I absolutely loved the food. The portion are a little bit huge so cater for taking leftovers at home if you not a big eater. Not much of an ambience and the waiter not for anything would even attempt to smile or look welcoming, all in all great food and definitely worth coming back a second time.

Straight up simple but fantastic. Usually get Chinese food in Flushing but wanted to switch it up this time and tried Afghani. Split an appetizer and entrée with my sister. The sambosa app wasn’t great. Super fried with little filling and not seasoned as I would expect. Tasted like taco meat inside the shell so not great. I definitely prefer Indian potato samosas to this. Buuuuut the entrée was delicious. The kofta kebab with green rice and a salad. Yummy! The meat was super tender and they give you a decent sized portion of meat and rice. The green rice was soft and fluffy and well seasoned without being overpowering. All of this was made even more delicious with the yogurt and spicy sauce. Awesome, quick service. Very professional and cordial. Great prices(maybe expensive relative to Flushing but cheap relative to Boston) for large portions!

Came in for NYE around 6 pm and was seated quickly. Soon after, several other parties started coming in and within half an hour all tables were occupied! Our server was very attentive and quick and polite. He brought us water and pita and salads within minutes. However the food took awhile longer. But the wait was well worth it. We had the chicken and salmon kebabs that just came off the grill. The salmon skin was crispy. The salmon itself was moist. The chicken had great chat and spice rub! And the rice was very flavorful. Love with joint !

After walking in. We were handed the menu, while looking at the menu the waiter comes over and tells us only look at ½ a page of the whole menu because they are not making anything else on the menu. The waiter keeps the check holder in his pants. Yes near his underwear(check out the pic). He left us twice while taking our order to answer the phone. We ordered raisins he told us it’s extra charge. We said OK. Onions that came with the kabab was raw we asked him to grill it and he said it is extra, we ordered brown rise, so he gave us white and brown I asked him to take it back and he said when you finish the brown or will get u more. No desert. Very rude, unprofessional, kabab quality was OK not good. Oh and Sambosa was cold from the fridge.

Amazing. From the food — the service. Thumbs up, 5 stars 100% Let’s just start with the fact that I usually only like to consume Chinese and Italian food. I was very scared to try this and I’m so glad I did. I went for the first time and I had to come back for seconds, last night. The first time we were here we ordered green rice(only available weekends) and that was some of the most amazing rice I’ve ever had. Hands down the best place for kebab! This time we got combo B again with three types of meat. Salmon, amazing as usual, beef? Very flavorful and not dry(although we asked for medium, it came to be very very well done) I will definitely reinforce my «medium» next time. Also, the chicks was pretty good. Surprisingly not as dry as I had thought. The meal comes with nan bread & a side of salads for every person at the table. In the end, we were full from our food because it was a very generous portion and we were happy and honored to be eating some of the most amazing kebabs I’ve ever had. Service? One of the manager, I forget his name, is VERYVERY funny! He makes jokes and tries to accommodate everything we need. The owner? Can you believe he walks around making sure we were enjoying our meals and he CLEANSUP spills on the floor himself? Yes. Very efficient wait staff and very excellent management. The owner is #1 and every owner should be like this.

Good food and good service. What I really like about them is their lamb chops, unlike other afghan restaurants their chops aren’t paper thin. They actually have meat on them. But prepare to pay the price because it is pretty pricey compared to most afghan restaurants in New York. Never the less I return for the food even if it hurts my wallet a little.

I travel from Massachusetts to NYC to eat here not even kidding. Every single time I visit the city I order from here. My favorite is the chicken and beef tikka with brown rice. OUTOFTHISWORLD. Their appetizers are yummy too :) There is also this really nice worker there I don’t know his name but he is Bangladeshi and has the patience of a saint to deal with a lot of loud people who are impatient on weekend nights. I appreciated how he tries to keep up with everyone and maintains order. Good job guy!

Was recommended to try this spot out. We ordered the samosa, soup of the day(chicken and veggies) and tiki kabob(beef skewer). The samosa came with 4 pieces. It was pretty good, make sure you use the green and white sauce. The soup was pretty bland and seemed a bit watered down. The beef tiki kabob was really tender and flavorful. It comes with rice, raw onions, tomatoes. We wanted the white rice but the waiter suggested the brown rice but we ended up getting half and half. They also give you nan bread which was perfect because I made mini rice kabob and nan sandwiches. Definitely would come back

Lets just say I go from the Bronx, paying toll BOTHWAYS to go to this Kebab house to eat their food. I ALWAYS get the chicken Kebab with all three of their rices: white, Brown and green. I have no idea what the green rice is made up but they only serve it on weekends. The food is so tasteful I love eating the chicken. It always comes out juicy and tender they served raw and cooked onions on top they’re serving sizes are great it’s very fitting plate. I did try their lamb and personally I’m not as big of a fan of their land but it was OK. If you’re a fan of the lamb you might like. However I was in a fan of theirs. It’s OK because the chicken is good enough for me. The Only bad thing is parking in the area and the fact that it’s cash only business. I think its a little on the expensive side, but I like it soo much that i am willing to pay for it. The kebab grill is located in the front of the business so you can see the cook prepare it as you wait.

We have always liked Afghani food. I think Kabul Kabab is the best I have had. We always get the chicken(boneless) and white rice. I really like the brown rice as well. Lamb Chops — Very Good but expensive. Boneless Chicken — Our Favorite Lamb Tikka — Good a little chewy but still tasty Kobideh(Kofta) — Good but not the best Kofta I have had. They are always friendly and the service is great.

For lunch with a friend from work, we chose Kabul Kabab House based on the numerous positive Unilocal reviews. Tucked in a primarily Chinese neighborhood, Kabul Kabab House proved to be a really tasty eating experience. Navigating the oddly narrow doorway to get into the restaurant we were quickly seated. For the appetizer we ordered the Sambosa(pretty much the same as a Indian Samosa) which was very good. It was fried expertly and not oily at all, which can be a problem with previous Samosas I’ve eaten. I ordered the Barg entrée which is served with a salad and rice(I chose the Afghan brown basmati rice). The Barg was delicious. It was thinly sliced robustly flavored beef that was cooked to a temperature slightly above medium. While I would prefer medium rare, it was still very tasty. Afghan seasoned brown basmati rice was sublime; full of rich flavor, and a nice slight bite-through texture. This place gives rice proper justice. The ubiquitous white sauce was some of the best I’ve tasted and gave a nice cool slightly creaminess to the rice. My co-worker ordered the Lamb Tikka Kabab which he allowed me to sample. It was very very tasty; imparting some gaminess(just enough IMO) and seasoned with spices that have been seemingly perfected by cooks of this genre. My only gripe was that one of the appetizers we ordered(the Badenjan Borani) was never served to us. Engrossed with office talk, we never noticed till nearly the end of our meal, but thankfully they never charged us for the dish. I would come back just for the rice… that’s enough of a reason to give Kabul Kabab a try if you’re in the area!

Very big portions, good service. However, the last time I visited, the chicken was dry. Very disappointing for a kabob house, as I expected the chicken to be tender and juicy. My friend almost gagged out the chicken she tasted.

We came after reading all the reviews & couldnt find any parking so rec u come via mta. Ordered take out & was able to observe the cooking in the fromt kitchen. They have pots for rice & many spickets for the meats. We ordered a lamb & steak dish w brown & green rice along w eggplant appetizer. The appetizer was tasty. They ended up giving us 2 brown rice which was over spiced with a smokey type of spice that overpowered the flavors at times. The lamb kebab was dry and the steak was a little on the dry side as well. Observing the folks earing there they seemed happy w the presentation & food quantity. They offer salads and pita w their entrees. They put a roasted tomato & raw onions w the meat and rice. It’s ok

Today’s visit was my 2nd. here at Kabul Kabab. The same friend who took me here for my first time back in January, asked me to be open minded and try it a 2nd time, but this time, not to order the lamb kebab. Ok. Fine. Came here for lunch. So this time I ordered the Chicken kebab, with their«green» rice made with lima beans and herbs. Their portions, from what I’ve seen, are very large. Unless you’re a behemoth with a ginormous appetite, and 4 stomachs, you won’t leave hungry. That’s guaranteed. Today’s chicken was just OKAY. It was tender and juicy. Good. Cuz I HATE dry meat. The big con that I had with the chicken, was that it was under-seasoned. Rice tasted good. Accompanied with their signature white sauce, it was a nice lunch. Service was on point. Met the owner. He’s really chill. Cash only. Their music, similar to the previous visit, was awful. Whatever. No big deal.

This is my new favorite restaurant in the neighborhood! Definitely wish I had discovered this place earlier! I love white and yogurt sauce so my meal choices surrounded this. For appetizer I tried the pan fried eggplant with yogurt and tomato sauce and thought it was delicious! The waiter also gave us a small sample of the mashed eggplant and that was even better! It went really well with the pita bread. For entrée, I was in a group of 4 people so we ordered combo number 2. We tried the lamb chops, ground beef kebab and the chicken kebab. It was the chicken with the bone and it was the best by far! Mixing the rice(brown and green) with white sauce is absolutely delicious too. We were too full for dessert so I have to try that next time but I was told there are two choices: bakhlava and home made pistachio flavored ice cream. I love this place so much I went twice in one weekend and can’t wait to go back!
