Took 1 ½ hr for the food to arrive when we live about 15 minutes away. Would not order again. Quantity smaller than expected with the price they charged. Instead of soy sauce packets, this is the first restaurant I have gotten soy sauce in small cups that are not even completely filled(we got 4).

I’ve come here a few times with friends, not my personal choice of sushi place but it’s pretty good. My selection(s): Mogu Pizza, Osaka Duck Roll, Black Dragon Roll, Spider Roll, Crazy Tuna Roll, Mango Lover Roll. Setting(4⁄5): The place is bright and looks clean. It has a more new school and modern feel to it. Service(3⁄5): It’s about average, nothing too outstanding or out of the ordinary. Taste(3⁄5): The food is good although I wish that the rolls could be made bigger. They are on the smaller side from what I’ve experienced, not the most filling for the price. Time(3⁄5): The wait for the food is about average, I’ve never experienced their delivery or pick up services so I can’t comment about those. Price($$): For the amount of food you get you can find a better place. Mogu sushi’s prices are okay but I’d say it’s not worth it only due to the fact that the portions are small. Worth revisiting?: No

Got the lunch bento box — pretty good value for all the food you get! However, I wasn’t crazy about the chicken… the flavor was fine but I felt that it was overcooked. Other than that, I loved everything else the bento box came with!

I have been coming here for years and felt the need to update my review again since I had some good experiences after my last post. Its a good place for some cheap tasty sushi. The actual entrees are okay, but I think the sushi is the better option.

Been to this place a few times and it never disappoints. I can confidently say this is the best sushi in the Kew Garden Hills/Flushing area. The place is pretty small and simple but with good service, and sushi’s always fresh. .I don’t think they deliver which is unfortunate, since getting to that part of town is always a bit of a hassle due to traffic.

Worst sushi I ever had, my stomach didn’t feel well after and before our meal here, the bathroom is in the back where the kitchen area is. It wasnt pleasant on my way there looked very dirty. The plates where dirty with finger prints. My tea cup was stained with black marks. My soysauce plate came with one grain of rice probably from the previous guest that wasn’t clean. Never going back again.

Sashimi Review: Their yellowtail is pretty good. I tried their Salmon and I spit it out(sorry) and left the other piece uneaten. I also ordered their Japanese Snapper. It was ok. All in all, not the best sashimi. Yes the prices are cheap but if you’re looking for a good sashimi meal, this place is not it.

I received a confirmation email at 5:52pm that my order will arrive between 6:35pm and 6:45pm. It is now 7:54pm and i am extremely hungry, still waiting for my food. The delivery guy was supposedly on his way, according to my call to Mogu half an hour ago, which only take about 15 minutes to deliver. I will NEVER order delivery from Mogu ever again. UPDATE: Food finally arrived at 8:19pm. The sushi pieces were the smallest I have ever seen. My mom didn’t taste or see eel in the eel roll she was eating, but I did see them in the pieces I ate. One of the fish(we think it was supposed to be white tuna) tasted weird. The salmon sushi was good, but definitely not worth the 2hr wait.

Worst sushi ever, the sashimi quality is terrible, rolls are poorly made, the ingredients just fall out, we had the medium party platter. Would not recommend

I came here to eat about a year ago, but when this popped up on my feed I knew I had to write a review on this. One of the dishes I ordered had clams, and when I was chewing my clam I felt a weird texture. And I pull out a small parasitic crabling. Like what? So I googled it and is a «pea crab», mind you I don’t even know what a pea crab is and I have NEVER seen one in any of the clams I eat. I felt so grossed out I couldn’t even continue my meal, I don’t know if they didn’t clean the clams enough or cooked it properly but I am not returning again.

Yikes. On the coldest day of Valentine’s day at like 0 degrees, we walk into Mogu to get some lunch. The restaurant was freezing and the heater wasn’t on! The staff was even wearing sweaters and knit hats. Sadly, the freezing restaurant really affected the performance of the food. Let’s start off with the miso soup. Miso Soup — tasted like chicken stock soup with a bit of miso in it. It came out lukewarm too. Sushi Entrée — $ 11.99 for 5 nigiri sushi &1 regular roll — the first bite was mediocre, but then because of how cold the restaurant was, the rest of the bites tasted bad because the rice got too hard — the slices of sashimi on the nigiri sushi was very thin and flavorless, wasn’t too fresh — the regular rolls used only a small amount of sashimi Osaka Duck Roll — $ 9.99, interesting asian fusion concept and idea but it was drenched in sauce that was too bold in flavors. it’s a chinese flavored dish. Overall, it was a bland experience. And some advice: turn the heat on! It was freezing!

They tricked you by making you believe that five to right dollar sushi can be a lot but the pieces are so small and they’re only six tiny pieces. It’s a rip off. But the eel over rice is the best…

I have been here for about 10 times now. This is my go-to sushi place in Flushing. First thing I ask when I sit down is what’s the uni today. I have had the live ones(they crack open the shell there) and the frozen ones(which are either California($ 7/piece) or Japan(I forgot how much)). They don’t always have everything. Either way, they are delicious. They usually serve the uni in a piece of cucumber or something so it’s not just a slice in front of you. These are the things I have tried: Mogu Pizza — crab meat inside Baked Clams — they are amazing!!! Philadelphia roll Spider Roll Black Dragon Aegean’s Roll — I loved it. Kraken Roll Tempura Shrimp Udon Unadon I may have missed a couple of things but this place has been pretty consistent. I am not saying I am satisfied every time I am there but I haven’t found a better place in Flushing. They do omakase. You can name the price(per person) and they will devise a menu. It’s a small restaurant and sometimes it gets crowded. The bar chairs are not exactly comfortable so don’t expect to lounge around.

Not sure what the hype is about. Sashimi was watery, mushy, and bite size. The tempera in the one of the rolls had too much batter which overwhelmed the roll Overpriced Food took forever to come out The sushi-sandwich was bland and mushy Unilocal let me down on this one.

The first time I ordered from Mogu I had the Aegean roll which was absolutely fantastic. It is a mix of tuna, salmon, tempura and avocado topped with a wasabi mayo sauce wrapped in pink soy paper. This is the 2nd time I eaten from Mogi Sushi and like the first time, i am very satisfied with what I ordered. The sushi is extremely fresh and the delivery time is fast. I ordered the three roll special and chose eel, salmon avocado and spicy shrimp. My meal also came with a miso soup. Now ive tasted miso soup that taste like water in the past but this soup had the perfect balance of flavor. For $ 11.50 I must say the combo was well worth it. I have yet to dine in but the first time I visited for take out I noticed that the restaurant was very clean. Considering I live within walking distance this will defintely be one of my sushi go to restaurants. Fyi: parking is absolutely insane around here! Just walk if you live close by.

Accidentally found this place on Unilocal, and couldn’t help myself but try it out after seeing so many good reviews. When I walked in I was greeted very politely and was handed the menu with some water. Looking at the menu, the prices they offer here are great! I ordered the Sashimi combo deluxe which came with a bowl of miso soup. The soup was your average miso soup. Nothing special, just what you would expect. A few minutes later, the sashimi came in great presentation! When I first ordered I was a little skeptical the sashimi was going to be quite small due to the affordable price. I was so glad I was wrong. The sashimi pieces were cut perfectly, tasted very fresh and in perfect size! TL;DR –Clean location –Fresh Sashimi –Affordable prices for sushi I will definitely be coming back. Solo and with friends!

Bad Bad Bad!!! Two nights ago we ordered a delivery, it got to us an HOUR later(!!!) nothing like what we asked(but they sure charged us for it) and when we called to tell them that they had no real answer to us! We paid $ 20 for a tempura roll(that had 5 pieces!!) and a salmon avocado roll. When we asked the delivery guy to come back with our money the girl said he is on his way to long Island(i dont even think they deliver there but well…) I said I’ll wait… Than the manager called us back and offered a credit which definitely wasnt acceptable because no way we will order again. Delivery guy came back in 5 min with my order money on the penny… Of course he took the«food» with him. Save yourself the trouble and order someplace else, you will get amount of food like you deserve in a timely manner…

Ordered the Eel sushi combination and it was great! 15 assorted pieces of eel sushi and a choice between miso soup or salad. Quality was pretty decent for the price here. Do not come here if your looking a giant portions of sushi at an affordable price. The owner here is very enthusiatic about where he gets his fish which is a good sign beause it shows he cares about quality. The environment is pretty small so try not to come here in big groups. Overall a very fair sushi restaurant to try out.

So about a week ago, I came here to order takeout for lunch. The girl behind the counter who took my order, she really needs to learn how to smile. Literally, Resting B! tch Face on the whole time. And had an edge to her voice. If you’re having a bad day, don’t broadcast it to everyone else please. –_– Last time I wrote my updated review, the owner replied: «Thanks for mentioning the service. We’re going to have a chat as a team about being professional and attentive when we’ve got guests dining with us.» No complaints about the food. Dragon roll and eel combo tasted amazing as always. But I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to smile at your guests. Make the experience all that much better.

Mogu is Chinese owned, but don’t let that deter you from trying them. Their sushi grade is higher and much fresher than the cheap sushi spots out there. The Tuna was the best thing I had here, and I’m usually more of a salmon guy. Nothing disappointing about the food here, but the only thing is the restaurant is small and there’s not much room for people to move around(including the staff). They are definitely understaffed too, but they do great in making sure every table is being taken care of. The bathroom is also in their kitchen, so that’s a bit awkward. I also heard the uni is worth trying, but they were out of them everytime I went. I tried the live scallops too, and I expected them to still be moving, however that was not the case. It was still good though.
