I have never been to this bakery, but a friend swore by these Cream puffs. He brought a box over for is to try. OMG they are all that! The texture of the pastry is so light and flaky with a little crunch. The cream is not a whipped cream but more like a Bavarian cream. It is not overly sweet, just right. My husband, nephew and I fell in love with them. Give it a try.

Yum-O! The cream is less custard-y and more asian whipped cream-ish. That is the worst english sentence I have ever conjugated together. They are doing a quick stint at Mituswa Marketplace in NJ until the 13th. And boy was the line superrrrrrrrr long.

The only cream puff place I know iof n Flushing. They only had one kind of cream puff and it cost $ 1.25. I had better in Manhattan. The white cream in the puff tastes like white foam and it looks like shaving foam. If you want to have good cream puffs, go find one in Manhattan.

Best cream puffs ever, and cheap! For $ 1.25, all your mouth fantasies come true! I have to stop myself when I eat them b/c they are soooo good! I think they moved, on Main St right across from the Peking Duck Stall, or maybe this is a chain now…

tasted both Choux Factory and Beard Papa’s, and neither beats Sakuraya. Sakuraya combines the best of both: soft shell and delicious filling. It’s also much cheaper, at $ 1.25 per gigantic puff. Sometimes they have free samples which you can taste before buying. Beware of inconsistency though: sometimes the shells have a filmy texture and taste oily.

Love their cream puffs. The filling is light, fluffy, and not too sweet but still with a rich flavor. The filling is quite different from Beard Papa’s custard-like, super-sweet filling. I like these a lot more because they have an authentic homemade taste(not like some factory-produced product). The crust is light and crispy with a dusting of powdered sugar, and they’re never stale(even when I bought them right before they closed at 9pm). Delightful.

It just reopened about 2 days ago and I already took advantage. The puffs now cost $ 1.25 each but it’s still way cheaper than Beard Papa’s which is $ 2 for regular. Now, I’ve never tried this place before and I’m not a big fan of sweet and creamy desserts(except for ice-cream of course) but it was cheap so I thought what the heck. Besides, I wanted to compare it to Beard Papa’s puff so I could brag to my friend who’s obsessed with it. Anyway, I didn’t think it would be any good since all the puffs were already filled and just sat on a tray waiting to be bought. Papa’s are filled when ordered so the pastry won’t get soggy of something. So I bought one and took the hour train ride home. Well, it didn’t take me long to devour the whole thing. The pastry held it’s shape and was not soggy at all. The cream filling was just about right; not too sweet. Overall, I think it’s better than Beard Papa’s in taste, size and most importantly, price! I don’t know what was wrong with me before… I love Japanese cream puffs now!

It’s back again in Flushing. The new store’s location is just right opposite to the old store across the main street! The cream puff is not that attractive for me, I mean, it’s good, but not impressive. They also have other Japanese snack, Da Fu available. The one I tried is red bean flavor, and it taste not bad!

Sakuraya IMHO has the best cream puffs in NYC. Beared Papas and other cream puff shops don’t even compare. If you are in Flushing Chinatown you have to stop by here for desert! The cream puffs are big, light, flakey and filled with just the right amount of cream. They also have this sweet crusty top. So good! The best thing about these cream puffs is that they’re only a dollar! Talk about value! I could eat 5 – 10 of these in one sitting.

I was heading toward the 7 train out in Flushing(last stop on 7 train), in an area which would seem like little Asia on Main street near Roosevelt, when I came across this bakery. They had a little crowd gathered, and were selling these cream puffs. They are so light flaky and creamy. I only got one for $ 1 but I could have easily eatten about 5 they were so light and good. The address on the bag is what I put. So if you are ever out that way. Try to find it. They are really good.
