Ok, so I’ll admit that I frequent this establishment regularly. It is one of my favorite«hole in the wall» places. This cleverly hidden gem, is an amazing diner. I have been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner(my son frequents the hospital across the street) and have yet to have a bad experience. For years this place went unnoticed by me, and it was not until my uncle introduced me to it, that I was lucky enough to try it. I should first mention the prices are more than fair, with the benefit leaning towards the customer.(meaning i would pay more than they charge) The flank steaks are far better than a regular chain, and the huevos rancheros are impecable. I live for their salsa alone, and would gladly buy it by the bottle if they would just bottle it! I have had the pleasure to meet the owner, his wife, and their son. They are all very sweet and their mission to please every customer does not go unnoticed. If I could change anything about this place, it would be it’s location. I would kill for this place to be closer to my home, and not just across from my son’s hospital! If you get the opportunity to visit this place, you won’t be dissapointed. I haven’t been.

What a pure joy ! I’ve been coming here for more that 10 years now ! It never fails to please in welcomeness and atmosphere ! A true Fontana landmark ! Upon entering, I encountered its very friendly service staff. A great homestyle appeal. Delicious chicken fried steak seemingly home made ! A great medium well steak cooked to perfection adorned one of my plates. The sausage and cheese omelette was great with the German fries as well ! Don’t sleep on the biscuits and gravy either ! I forgot to mention the Crispy buttery waffles ! I will have to get those again next time ! I will be back for more really soon ! Thank you for existing ! Thank you for always welcoming the customer and doing your best to keep them coming back and not settling for anything less !

I really hate to give this place a bad review because I really did enjoy their food. However, I went today and after i ate a little bit of my salad i noticed that there was a cockroach in my salad. it was a piece of the roaches head. I must have either ate the other half of the roach. I called the waitress over to my table and she agreed that it was a head of an insect and she apologized and she took the plate over to management, i got up from my table and left because i had to spit out the rest of the food in my mouth,(eww i still have chills just thinking about how gross that was) my family spoke to the manager and he apologized to my family. This is terrible and I hope that this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I hope they do something about their roach problem.

This is our 2nd visit for breakfast; my wife had the ½ lb ham and eggs with america fries. They aren’t fries like she thought but home fries. I had a ham and cheese omelette. We like the ham steak very much. Its bone in and tasty. My wife does not care for home fries, so I ate them… a nice portion and I enjoyed them. The omelette was so so. With coffee and tea the bill came to $ 25 with tax. I’ve had better for less but the ham is very good. Our fist time the server was friendly and kept my cup filled with copy. This one had a sour disposition and it was near impossible to get coffee refill; not because it was busy. She stood behind the counter doing nothing until I finally got her attention by waving my cup. She never smiled and seemed put out to be serving us. A stark contrast to our first visit when the server made us feel welcome. Based on these two visits I am rating the food 3.5 and cost 2.5 for overall 3 I won’t down grade because of one server. Not posting photo because we want to return and dont want spit in our food.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. It’s an older place with a small town charm. Our server(Kathleen) was very nice and managed to handle multiple tables, seat & cash-out customers, and clean-up around the place… all by herself. She had a very pleasant attitude for a gal who wears many hats. The food tastes great(freshly prepared with generous portions). Soup or salad is included in the price of your meal. Excellent value. We will be returning again very soon.

Back again, the best place to eat reasonable prices. We came back, everyone is very friendly… no attitude and that’s the way it should be. If u a worker have issues going on at home don’t take it to work. We all have issues. You dont want to lose ur patrons.

I usually always come here but a couple times now the food taste like it’s been in the microwave. And hasn’t been too good and neither the service. Overcharged me also and when I told them they said no thats how it is. looks like it’s time to find a new place to eat.

Service is no good. Poor management. Don’t take your chances here! Some of the staff is friendly, others are not. Owner seems to not care about the quality of his workers. No way to run a business!

If possible, I wouldn’t leave a single star, but then I couldn’t leave a review. Unfortunately we will never be giving business to this restaurant again. A few months ago, it became an instant favorite restaurant for our family, but today, that changed. We had breakfast in the restaurant and once I went to my car to find directions to our next destination, I realized my phone was missing. Instantly I ran into the restaurant(that was empty with the exception of 1 table), and asked all the staff who were hanging out towards the bar area, if they had seen my phone. All of them seemed sincere in their replies of no, with the exception of one of the servers(whose back was towards me) and the bus boy(who quickly went to the kitchen). The server then asked me what kind of phone it was, if it was an iphone, if I had a tracker on it, and helped me look for it, even though he insisted it wasn’t there. In the mean time, my husband had called my phone to make it audible and easy to find in the restaurant, hoping I would hear it. The little chirp went off from the servers pocket and I said. «oh…,» and before I could finish, he booked it to the kitchen. They took my number and told me they would call and let me know if they found it. Why would he have left in the middle of helping his customer? To read a text in the kitchen, from his wife, while working??? hmmm… Later as we were driving, I checked my voicemail and had a call from my husband, which was the chirp I heard in the restaurant. I didn’t know he had called, until this point, and then it all made sense to me with the chirp sound I heard in the restaurant. After a long search for this phone(over 4 hours with police, verizon Billy J’s owner and manager), and verification from Verizon that it was still at the same location 2 hours later, we returned and asked for the phone so that police didn’t have to be involved. The server insisted that he didn’t have it! My husband sat down with the person we thought was a server(actually the manager), and the owner(his father!!), and the manager told my husband that he instantly left at the sound of the chirp because his wife had text him. Granted, we can have the same chirps, but when my husband showed the time of his call and compared it to the time of the manager’s text from his wife, it was over 40 minutes off. Needless too say, we had the police involved and there was nothing they could do about it. So, yes, I understand it was my fault for losing my phone there, but hire some professional staff that care about your place and not a quick $ 100 they can make… especially your own son. What a bummer that this place will never be given business to by our family ever again. To make it even better, the owner had the nerve to ask my husband if he was going to pay for his son staying over his shift! Watch your belongings, they will make it extra clear to you that they are not responsible for anything lost or STOLEN!!! Such a terrible experience, and now all my kids know the restaurant as is one with thieves and dishonest workers!

My friend dropped her phone in the booth, when she went back in to look for it & ask the manager if they had seen it he said he had not. At that time her husband called her phone. It went off in his(managers)pocket. He then took off to the kitchen & would not come out. They called the police & their phone carrier. Long story short, there was not anything the police could do but the manager turns out to be the owners SON!!! So my advice would be, stay as fat away from this establishment a possible! So sad that this guy has no respect for his own parents! They I’m sure have worked hard to build this place up & he could care less. For what? An extra $ 100!!! Never going to give them a cent again & I hope you do the same.

The owner is also a waitress here. I have never been treated so rudely at a restaurant I felt like I was unwanted like I had done something wrong it was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had anywhere hands down. She is the owner waitress from hell Very bitter women. Keep her on the back
