Very friendly cleaners at the quiet end of Austin Street. Staff is always cordial and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. I’ve had pea coats and silk blouses dry cleaned, and men’s shirts pressed, and have been happy each time.

If it was up to me they wouldn’t even get one star. Ok so I’m reading ALL the great comments about this place and I’m loving it. I really need a dry cleaner for my suits but more importantly I need a good tailor. From what I’m reading this is the place to go. The only thing is it’s really not. For everyone reading this, this place doesn’t understand that efficient service can make or break a business. THE TAILOR IS MISSING IN ACTION. I went there twice and called for four days straight now. Where the hell is the tailor? The people answering the phone are clueless. How can I put a good review when I can’t even get my clothes tailored? Unbelievable, and how does this place have such good reviews? I don’t know about how good their work is because I can’t even get to see a tailor!!! I have to pray that the tailor is going to feel like coming to work one day??? Stay away. They are horrible and would never get my money.

Why is it that when I go to this store, the tailor is never around? He’s either on his way or taking the day off. No set hours and when I call again later to see if he arrived, he’s changed his mind about working for the day and stays home. Is it just me? Or maybe this tailor person doesn’t exist.
I’ve seen these great reviews and have to believe that somehow ppl were either paid off or this place recently turned to crap.
How can I make a judgment on a job that never gets done for me? I’m forced to cross this business off my go-​to list due to lack of service and organization. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

I went here based on the reviews and it was a great choice. I went in to get my Michael Kors wool jacket tailored. The guy working there (I think was the owner) told me that it would be expensive but the price he gave was in line with the price I was willing to pay. I had also wanted an extra button put in to make the jacket tighter. The owner and the tailor were discussing it and said that they could do it for an extra $ 7. A few min later the tailor said that it would look ugly so we both agreed not to do it. I’m glad they care about their work enough and aren’t all about making a quick buck. The owner even gave me a small discount. I guess it was because they didn’t make the button situation happen. Overall, I am happy with the work and the service. I will most definitely come back for future alterations!

I usually to go the cleaners around the block from my apartment on the opposite side of QB, but this lady charges an arm an a leg for a simple hem on a dress and her work is not all the best either… so I ventured off to find myself a new tailor and Smile Austin Cleaners came to my rescue!
I hopped in on a weekday afternoon looking to get two dresses hemmed for a special occasion and was immediately greeted and assisted by the tailor. I have to agree with the other reviews here that the staff were all super friendly and nice to deal with! We worked out all the details of what I needed and before I knew it, I was measured, pinned, and on my way out the door within 20 minutes.
Ahh my favorite kinda place… friendly service, the prices were fair (definitely much better than a lot of the neighboring competitors), and the dresses were ready a few days later as promised… what more can you ask for?!
This place gets my stamp of approval fasho!!! Highly recommended! =D

Very happy with this place. I came here on a Saturday afternoon with a rental dress that I needed temporarily hemmed same day. I went to one other cleaners/​tailor shop before coming to Smile and that place had no tailor on Saturdays, so Smile was my second try. Smile had a tailor that day and he did a great job too. They were friendly and I could tell that the tailor wasn’t trying to rush the job even though they were busy in there. I got my dress same day and it was great! Because I was so happy with the service and friendliness, my husband and i brought ALL of our clothing needs to them: dry cleaning, sewing/​mending, button fixing, fine pressing, more hemming, etc. We just got everything back and it was great! The prices here are very reasonable as well. I think I found my go-​to dry cleaners!

After reading reviews on Unilocal and personally going to a couple businesses that offer tailoring in Forest Hills, my sister and I had decided on this place. As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted with a very warm and friendly hello from the tailor and owner. The tailor had answered all our questions and concerns about what we wanted done. We both needed our three layer bridesmaid dresses to be hemmed up and shoulder straps adjusted. Smile Austin Cleaners offered the most reasonable and best price quote in the Forest Hills area. It was early on in the week when we had dropped off our dresses for adjustments. Surprisingly, they were ready to pick up by that Friday, a day earlier than what we were told too!
Not really relevant to the actual tailoring, but this store was air conditioned which was a huge plus since we had to try on the dress there in order to get pinned for adjustments. It certainly makes for a more comfortable experience when you’re in the store for longer than a minute in the middle of a heat wave!
Friendly staff, speedy service and great prices, Smile Austin Cleaners is HIGHLY recommended!

If you’re looking for a place that delivers for free, this is the one. But if you’re looking for a cleaner that actually delivers when they say they will — this place isn’t it. Twice they’ve promised to deliver by X day and I come home to see nothing.
They generally take a week to dry clean and deliver. If you’re counting on timely cleaning… you be the judge.

I’ve been underwhelmed by Manny’s and, upon my husband’s suggestion, looked for a new dry cleaners in our neighborhood. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with Smile. I was on my way home with a granny-​cart full of groceries, and the owner thoughtfully took the time to carefully wrap my clothes and secured them to my cart with a ribbon. I really appreciate good customer service, and will go out of my way to patronize businesses that are good to their customers. I’m a new convert, and true to their name, I left smiling!

While visiting from out of town, I had bought some clothing that ended up being too big. I took my items here and the lady that owns the place fixed them at a great price and she did an amazing job! Doesn’t even look like the items were even altered! I also witnessed some very happy satisfied customers while there. The owner and employees were very friendly and helpful!

After a terrible experience at Manny’s, who’s getting too busy for his own good, I turned to this little gem. The owner is a doll, she is very fair, her prices are always right, and she does an amazing job cleaning and tailoring. I wouldn’t bring my wedding gown there, BUT for anything else GO HERE. It’s cheaper than Manny’s and the service is much faster and more pleasant.
