The owners and staff are kind and sweet. They remember my children each time and have treats for our dog. The owner usually comes out to greet us. Joe has been working there since his parents owned the Drive-In. A little history, this Drive-In was originally owned by Mrs. Betty Carr, who now owns Mom’s Apple Pie(which was born in 1984). The burgers here are simple with a crispy bun and delicately wrapped in old-fashioned parchment paper. I would love to paint the who place pink with stripes! I have never ordered anything other than fries, or burgers, and soft-serve cones. Soft-serve is just that; and it comes with its beauty, quirks, and classic mediocrity. There is something comforting in that on a perfect, clear-skied summer day. Get thee to an ATM cuz CASHONLY!(Or clean out the coins in your car!) It is a drive-in for heaven’s sake!

Cheeseburger & fries with a soda, just what you’d expect from an old style joint. Brought back childhood memories that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. cash only!

All I wanted was a milkshake… A few years back, when I was playing in a weekend softball tournament in Forestville, I found this place, and it was a delight. Nothing fancy, mind you, but the burgers were tasty and hearty, and the milkshakes… ah, the milkshakes… Was there for the same reason this past weekend. Stopped by after the day’s games for a milkshake. There were several cars in the lot and folks hanging around at the table outside. Went in to the counter. Heard some cleaning noises in the back. No one was watching the front of the house. After a good 5 minutes, an older Asian man stuck he head around the corner and abruptly said«We closed today.» Slightly stunned, I walked outside and looked at the hours on the door, which said they were open until 6:45pm on Saturdays. I looked at my watch. 6:25pm. So I say: If they don’t want business during their business hours, let’s grant them their wish. Find a place – any place – where your business and your money is welcome. Because it’s not welcome here.

Don’t stop. Keep driving. Food sub par. Even the shakes. We too found the service not friendly at all. Fish aweful. Lots of fried foods.

Yep, it’s an old place, a «dive» even… And yes, they only take cash. But there’s not much else around here for a quick casual bite or snack in between wine tastings. Surprisingly, the burger was pretty decent

Eh. It’s okay if you’re in a bind. It’s a step above, say, a McDonald’s. The ice cream is good though. Closes pretty early. Friendly service. Hard to write a review, I don’t really have anything overly positive or anything bad to say.

Nothing fancy, just your neighborhood burger joint. Good burgers and food. Cash only so heads up but that’s what you get in a small town burger place. If you want something gourmet go to BJs. ;) if you want a burger and fries on after a day in the yard go here.

Food here is sooo bad :( I ordered a French Dip and it was just horrible. The meat tasted like it was a week old. The French fries are bad also. I guess it’s a good stop if it was the last place to eat. No bueno!

First off, I didn’t eat at this place. This review is strictly based off my attempt to eat there. I went up to the order window and was about ready to place an order when I noticed a hand written sign that said«Cash Only» taped to the window. Based on that information, I realized that I had no cash in my wallet, therefor, blasting any hopes I had of eating here. In this day of iPay and Atm’s…who accepts cash only?

I went here on my lunch break. I just got a burger and fries. The burger was good, but the fries were soggy and flavorless… In my opinion it was a little over priced for what you are getting. I would go back if I were in a pinch, but wouldn’t go out of my way to go here.

7-27-2014 We went here after a canoe trip in the Russian river. We had burgers and hot dogs with fries and drinks. The only thing that would be a 5 star is less flies. Other than that, it’s delicious.

I love these kinds of places. We drove by it and decided to turn around and grab a bite to eat on a lark. Bad idea. The service was brusque. The food was terrible. I got a hamburger and my wife got the chicken strips and onion rings. We threw most of the food away. It was that bad. The burger meat was tough. Tough hamburger. Not good. Flavor was not there. I’m guessing freezer burn. The chicken strips were way overcooked and dry. The onion rings had very little onion and seemed mealy and gross tasting. I’m sure all of this stuff is brought in frozen, so I’m not sure how it went as wrong as it did. That’s saying something for frozen food. Hey, at least the soda was good.

So we sat here discussing how many stars to give… one said two the other said three… so if we could’ve we would’ve met in the middle at 2&½ stars. Let’s start at window service, girl was maybe new. unknowledgeable of menu ingredients. Not very personable either. Then there is the prices which I really didn’t think too much of til our order came out. For 2 what would’ve equaled a combo meal(sandwich fries soda) averaged $ 11 per person. I’m sorry but for 11 bucks a person we should’ve gotten mounds of food and bottomless drinks. Not the case at all! Small portions, not so great service and the inside dining area swarming with flies! I was not impressed! My backyard bbq probably could’ve been better! With the exception of the flies… LOL!

I had seen this place around for several years but had only today actually gone inside to try it out(it is cash-only and I rarely carry cash). I happened to be in the area for some business and decided to stop here for lunch. I got my standard to try the place out, a bacon cheeseburger with a soda and a side of fries. Both the burger and the fries were good, though I regret not getting a double quarter-pounder with bacon added on(wasn’t compeltely filling, since the fries were pretty much for my girlfriend). Nearing the end of the meal, I decided to get a shake that we could share. That was the only thing that irked me about this place. There was a familiar after-taste I still can’t place, but all I know is I didn’t like it, and my mind immediately jumped to «fake». It tasted like there was some instant-mix in there. Aside from that, I have no reason not to go back in the future, at which point I will order something else, maybe a reuben sandwich, and see what happens.

I just moved to forestville. And we have discovered Carrs which is an old fashioned hamburger and shake drive in. The fries are good and the portions are large. The food is what you would expect. The service is friendly and they are accommodating. Good selection and you want to bring cash.

Absolute the best old-fashion burger joint in Sonoma County! I have been eating here for the past 12 + years and it still tastes the same, delicious! Burgers, Milkshakes and ice-cream are always great. Although, they do not accept debit/credit, there is a ATM just a few minute walk down the street. The value and the food is amazing! Must visit. Eat local!

Carrs used to be the hot spot! I remember going there after volleyball camps and stuffing my face with grilled cheese and milkshakes… oh the milkshakes(with malt added!) I’m not sure what happened here. The past couple times I went my food was greasy and forgettable. But I forgot all this one hungry afternoon I went here over the summer after a hot day at the river only to be told cash only. Not that they have an ATM there… the service was straight up rude and they seemed to be mad when we didn’t have cash and left. I would go again but be prepared with cash in hand, grab a milkshake and then make my get away.

Pretty cute little 1950’s style burger joint. This is the place to go if I was driving by and had a hankering for a burger or a milkshake. The prices are great and it definitely fills ya up. It does get pretty busy on Saturdays though.

We are driving along through the woods and through the quaint little town of Forestville. And we see this great old hamburger place that’s been there forever. I remember having burgers there a few years ago — great people and great food. Well — all of that is gone. Someone bought it out, an asian family. I’ve had some wonderful american style food from Asian families that put their heart into it — just not here. The man at the counter was upset with my request that was different than the menu. Please put mayo on both sides of the bun ‘He, said — can’t you just have it the way it comes’? ahhhh, yeah, I could but then I wouldn’t be –getting it my way — and that is a small request. So got back in the car, they didn’t do the mayo on both sides for my friend and in fact the burgers had no seasoning, over cooked and dry. The fries were thrown away that were that bad. Hopefully someone else will come along and want to buy this place and make it great again. Right now it’s not good — keep driving.
