Food just Ok. Wait staff was rude and would walk away after taking a drink order from just one person at our table. Jazz singers on Friday night were great.

On the two occasions I’ve been to D’Vine, I have been extremely pleased with their food. I’ve had several of their appetizers and entres including the Sweet Potato Risotto, Mushroom Wellington, Portobello Fries, and Bone Marrow, and I have been consistently happy with my choices, and in the case of one or two, completely blown away. I’m not much of a wine connoseiur, but the two or three wines I have had there were quite good. D’Vine has a really pleasant atmosphere, too. The whole dining area was refurbished before D’Vine opened and I would describe it as relaxing but not gloomy.

Decided to try d’vine after reading some of the reviews on here. My husband and I walked in around 6 on a Friday night to an empty restaurant. I should have questioned it by the lack of customers on a Friday night. We decided to order a glass of wine and a martini, both of which were mediocre. We then ordered a couple of their tapas. We tried the bacon wrapped tenderloin and the ahi stack. The ahi stack was okay but lacked some acidity. The beef… Eek. It came accompanied with a maple sauce that tasted cloyingly sweet. We decided to get our ticket after the two tapas. On the upside, our server was very attentive and personable. Don’t think we’ll be going back.

I am basing this on one experience I had on a Sunday night in July. Wanting to try a new restaurant in Fort Collins, we stopped in here and ordered a couple apps to start off. My dining partner ordered a Ranger(New Belgium Brewery) which was $ 6. They marked it up way too much. If I remember correctly I thought the wine was overpriced and didn’t order any. They had things on the menu like Fish Eye. I know how much that costs and I didn’t want to pay $ 8 a class for that. Those were the lesser priced wines. That all wouldn’t have mattered, but we ordered MUSSELS, and they were simply bad. Many of them didn’t open, and the ones that did were… well, the only way I could explain it to the waiter was«shot». I sent them back and the waiter took it off our bill. After seeing that I lost my appetite somewhat, so we left. I WOULD however, try this place for lunch again. Yes, I would give it another chance. Their lunch menu looked decent and less pricey.

This is a very good restaurant. I had a delicious coq au vine last night. But it came without anything green. I objected and the waiter pointed at a piece of carrot that was in the sauce. So I ordered a salad and said to my husband that we were going to be charged 5.00 for it. I was wrong. It was 6.00. I had a lunch the other day and was not happy paying 9.00 for some Lettuce and a few pieces of beet. I think we’re talking about marginal costs here. What would have cost them to add some Broccoli or green beans to an otherwise delicious meal. I will think twice about going again.

This place is great. Quality food for great prices. Only place that has happy hour on Saturdays and all day happy hour on Wednesdays. The tapas are to die for and the seafood is always fresh tasting. Highly recommended

Ate their last night with a Groupon and it was a fantastic value. Two flights of wine and tapas for two — very filling and delicious. Gorgeous summer evening on the patio with great service. The trout pâté, ahi tuna stacks, gouda and brie were all very tasty. I don’t love bacon-wrapped dates but people who do may enjoy them(the Groupon required us to get that dish). The downtown location is great for people watching and right by the new MAX train. Great for girls night or date night!

I was very excited to check out the new place. Even more excited to try the South American wine flight. Very disappointed to get the flight and find it only had one of the three wines it said it would have. The waiter did not say anything about the change. When I checked the menu at the hostess stand the hostess/manager? gave me quite an attitude and didn’t seem to think it a big deal that a place that specializes in wine would serve unmentioned wines. She then went on to insult me, apparently trying to outdo me with her excellent wine knowledge. Which she should have, I am the customer, I should not feel ashamed, She literally corrected my pronunciation of a wine they no longer have that I was wishing to try. She apparently didn’t even communicate any of this to the waiter, so that I had to get up and find him in order to order new wines. For which he never did apologize for not having told me of the changes. I am quite certain he didn’t even know of the changes himself. Bottom line– For a place that specializes in wine and is meant to be fine dining I was incredibly unimpressed. I felt like I was at a Denny’s rather than an upscale place. I will not be returning. What a disappointment. I wish it were still Dempseys

Valentine special dinner was wonderful. The restaurant was packed(good sign)! April the owner stopped by our table to check on the meal as usual. She was lovely and gracious as usual. Food quality and price point puts them among our favorites in the area. Try the roasted beet and carrot soup or the lobster bisque — lovely!

Thank goodness for a Living Social deal or I wouldn’t have known about this! My friend and I went for lunch yesterday(super smart of the restaurant to offer a Saturday lunch deal for those of us that work during the week on the south side of FoCo). We ordered the fried portobello mushroom app while we decided on the yummy/hard to choose menu. We were both impressed by how light the mushroom was. Not at all dense and heavy as one would expect with a mushroom. Being it was our day off and just because, we ordered a cocktail. The name escapes me but it was a delicious blend of prosecco, elderberry liquor, lemon and sparkling water. Super refreshing. I finally settled on the wild game sausage plate subbing the mashed potatoes for a salad. Like the salad was going to undo the caloric damage of sausage! Anyway, the sausage came out with each of the three cut in half. Not that I need/want to eat three whole sausages, but it was an odd presentation. It came with caramelized onions and two sauces. Everything tasted good but it was sloppy looking on the plate. My friend ordered the lobster bisque with a Caesar salad. I didn’t try any but she really enjoyed it. And the waiter was funny and attentive without being overpowering. Really top notch service!

The food was excellent. I had the best roasted duck breast ever and I didn’t know it was possible to make duck better. The server was so knowledgeable and attentive. Why not 5⁄5? Two reasons: the desserts are made in house but the selection was so boring: vanilla crème brule, traditional cheesecake, chocolate mousse or flourless choc cake? How predictable. Also, it was a bit overpriced: the food and especially the wine. Still, I would go back for the food but stay away from the dessert and wine to keep the bill within reason.

We went in after the lunch rush, so we had the place to ourselves. Thoughtful although attenuated wine selection, well appointed dining area and excellent service. The Reuben, while not traditional, was tasty. The chicken and Brie sandwich was creamy, tender, subtle,(fig dressing) with just the right amount of crunch on the bun. We will definitely return to check out the dinner menu, and are looking forward to trying more things on the lunch menu at a later date as well.

Strike 2 — visited bar area and it was a decent crowd. Took awhile to be acknowledged even though owner was milling about. Not impressed by the lack of cooperation among the staff, little interest from the owner or having average drinks at the bar. Nothing special in price, taste or atmosphere.

My husband & I totally enjoyed our 1st visit to d’Vine. We were totally impressed by the dining area which was for us a cozy booth where we could converse & be heard while we savored mussels prepared perfectly in a broth to die for… lovely martinis, my husband’s SPICY! Really spicy! We chose entres of lamb shepherd pie and duck which were both piping hot and delightful with a perfect Chilean wine. Service was just right too, so much so we indulged in a piece of the pastry chef’s German chocolate cake with press pot decaf. We enjoyed our evening so much we plan to bring friends next time we visit. Fort Collins has another winner restaurant here!
