I have been blown away by the level of service and personal attention from the midwives. Jen, Diane, Corey, Debbie, and even the nurses’ assistant have all been incredibly kind and empowering. They truly believe in a woman’s right to choose her own path in childbirth. If you are fed up with the impersonal care at some of the bigger clinics in Fort Collins, definitely give them a try! It’s a very small practice and you will get to know all of the midwives, and in my opinion they know just as much or more than a typical obstetrician! Thank you Womancare!

This practice felt incredibly unprofessional from the start– the receptionist, Jennifer, acts inconvenienced by having to do her job and would not attempt to problem solve with me nor did she offer any solution. I had labs done on a Tuesday, again on Thursday and was«guaranteed» to have results from Tuesday at the Thursday visit. The labs could help determine whether or not my pregnancy is sustainable.. In an attempt to ask Jennifer questions, CNM Corey was standing with her back to me and did not turn around once to answer any questions or give any sort of comfort/reassurance. Zero urgency from the staff. My initial visit with Corey felt very impersonal and her lack of reaction the following visit confirms my feelings. I will be receiving my labs(hopefully) and looking elsewhere. I do understand that«technical issues» come up, but there is a way to handle problems and a way to make customers feel like they don’t matter.

I have been going to Woman Care for several months now and am very impressed with the work they do. They have the most knowledgeable midwives who care about teaching you as much as possible about the pregnancy and labor process. I feel unbelievably safe in their hands and have no worries in my mind about giving labor in two months.

The midwives work around the clock here! They are currently training one midwife and are in the process of hiring another, but right now there are only two midwives delivering babies. After helping me(and a couple of other ladies) deliver overnight, Tracie didn’t go home to rest in the morning – she headed back to the office with a comforting smile on her face. Impressive! NPR has a great feature on Dian, who started the practice over 30 years ago. Admirable woman. And it’s very cool that Womancare accepts Medicaid when so many other practices refuse uninsured patients. I had a very smooth pregnancy(loved it!), but was terrified about giving birth(I would even say I have tokophobia). Dian is very forward and I can be extremely sensitive and anxious. I let her know my concerns and felt 100% supported after talking to her. It was a relief to receive care catered to my needs. Tracie was very laid back and positive, which made giving birth so much easier. I was scared and in a lot of pain, but Tracie’s encouraging voice helped me get through it and I never felt like she was judging me for being so afraid. My husband originally planned to just hold my hand during labor, but he ended up holding my leg up, counting my breaths, watching the baby enter the world and cutting the umbilical cord! I was so glad that he was encouraged to go out of his comfort zone and be more hands on during the birth. Thanks to the help of the hardworking midwives at Womancare, I now have a beautiful baby boy resting by my side.
