There aren’t many places like this around. Great venue!!! Drinks are a bit pricy, but a lot of fun!

I don’t think there is another place quite like it in South Florida. Small concert venue that gets good bands. Not usually super crowded. The place looks ridden hard and put away wet, the way a club like this should. I have seen lots of great shows here. Really like this place.

I imagine I’m going to be here often… Culture Room Fort Lauderdale is one of the few cutting-edge music venues in town. Dozens of under-the-radar or just-above-the-radar music acts pass through here and looking at their schedule, I recognize a ton of names. Cool. Awesome. Rad. You’ve got my $ 20. Now what? There are probably 4 bars in the relatively small venue, and that seems properly saturated. The venue is DIY-ish and haphazardly decorated. Kitschy and cultured and oh-so-obviously full of stories. There’s a patio/smoking area by the march table and the first bar, before you’re greeted by another bar before getting to the standing area, where there’s another bar and a balcony with – another bar. I didn’t see many long lines at bars, but I think it may be for a different reason. I offered to buy my friend a drink and go to the balcony bar(you’re more than likely to find me in the balcony area) and order a whiskey-coke and a PBR, both of which served in a smaller-than-ideal plastic cup. The bartender asked for $ 17, which I obliged to pay begrudgingly. I understand the up-charge — the concert venue isn’t supposed to be the place to be getting wasted. But that price tag definitely prevented me from ordering a second drink. Even $ 14 would’ve been more reasonable and that’s still a $ 7PBR. In Washington, where I’m from, there’s heavy alcohol taxation and a 16oz can of PBR is still $ 3. Anyway, my review isn’t gonna change anything, not even your experience at the Culture Room. The sound is good. The crowd wasn’t too rowdy. I had fun. My piece of advice? Pre-game at home.

Great venue. I saw the Of Montréal/pillar point show here. Cries of overcrowding by some other reviewers are overblown. Yes it was crowded but not uncomfortable by any means. If you want to sit down and not rub shoulders with other people then don’t come here. But, if you want an intimate setting with good energy then try catch a show here. I had a positive experience and the concert was great.

I’ve been here twice: Sevendust and Gemini Syndrome. I’m not kidding when I say this venue is TINY. That’s a good thing because this makes the venue great for more intimate shows with your favorite bands. I like to hang out in the very front, but I would be fine even if I was in the back because the stage is very very tall. I’m short so I hang out in the front row, regardless. I know a little corner with some steps where I hang out by where I don’t have to be on my tippy toes. Plus, that corner is right by the restrooms. Sound is great in there. Awesome atmosphere. I do think the screens behind the stage show some cheesy graphics when the artists perform. It seems kind of amateur, in my opinion. I love being able to hang out after a show and get pictures with the artists and this place is perfect for that. They usually hang around after and mingle with fans. Parking here is easy if you arrive early enough. It is free, which is just fantastic!

Cool place. Smaller intimate venue. We saw Get the Led Out last night and loved it. The venue was a pretty old place in a strip mall parking lot; very unpretentious. Everyone who was at the show was respectful and cool. I would definitely recommend seeing a show here. A few tips: get there early, go upstairs and. It’s not crowded and you can actually see better. There is a bar and bathroom up there too.

Nice location, lots of food around if you wanted to grab a bite before or after a show. I performed there, the sound engineer was awesome, he knew what he was doing and was witty! The quality of the sound was awesome. It’s not a very big place, makes for intimate but nice sized shows if you get a good turn out. There is a main room with a main stage and small bar behind it, a mirrored wall that the bathrooms are on the other side of, and a smaller room that leads into a courtyard that also has a bar. Its a nice set up for live shows and clubbing, I’d like to check it out some time when I’m not performing!

The venue is fine for the price, but gets out of control, I am in the concert of Jack & Jack, have taken over 15 hilly girls, This is out of control, no enough security for the girls euphoria need more security.

This place is a dump. if you like being squished in with sweaty people and unable to find the bathroom(which is up in the second level in the corner, over a rail and behind a black locked door) then try I out. Bonus star for the sticky pissy floor. That should help you get out of there straddling the walls.

I have been here several times over the past few years. It’s a wonderful small venue to see concerts; the acoustics aren’t great, but they are ok. There’s a big parking lot that’s free, which is nice. There’s a little outdoor area where you can sit, then a bar area inside, then a stage area. It’s always crowded, but NOT like it was this night. I saw Ani DiFranco on 1÷16÷16. The concert seemed WAY over-sold, because in the stage area the people were crammed in like sardines, seriously. It was unhealthy and uncomfortable. I can’t imagine that this would have passed fire-code enforcement(just my opinion). There was no walkway being kept clear to get to the other side, you could not even move in there. I went to the outdoor area, where they have a nice image of the concert showing on the wall, however, on this night, they had the sound turned down so low you couldn’t hear it. Duh! I wouldn’t have minded watching the concert from out there on the wall, or on the TV they had set up, but without any sound, it was useless. What was interesting was, there were security people all over in the black security shirts. When it started raining a little outside, I moved a chair under an overhang. The security people told me the chair couldn’t be there — what? I couldn’t move a chair in out of the rain? It is my opinion that the security people would have made better use of their time being INSIDE and seeing that there was a clear aisle-way for people to move around in the stage area, rather than worrying about me moving a chair 3 feet under an overhang. They also did NOT enforce the no-smoking policy there. In the back bar area of the outside part, there were clear NOSMOKING signs, however, these security people were walking right past people smoking and not even saying anything to them(yet, my chair couldn’t be moved out of the rain). I believe you can smoke a bit farther away in the part that is uncovered; but, these people were smoking where it was clearly marked no smoking. Ani DiFranco puts on an amazing show. But, this night was ruined by too many people in too small of a space. This venue is a gold mine because I love seeing my favorite artists perform in small venues, but not like that. I am not sure I will ever return to the Culture Room. It seems in the name of making money, they simply did not care about the comfort of the people who paid to see this concert. Listen, I understand it’s a small space, but this night it was just horrible when it didn’t have to be if they would have limited the number of tickets they sold.

This is a small little concert venue located in a shopping plaza, yes, a shopping plaza. I had no idea this place even existed until I had gone to my first concert there. The first cool thing is that parking is free. Where else can you go see a show and not pay to park? The downside is that it’s a shopping center so parking is limited. Also, since it’s a smaller venue your tickets won’t be as crazy expensive which is always a good thing. I loved how the stage is raised up so everyone has to look up to see the performer. As someone who is 6’6, going to a concert is terrible for me because I know I’m going to make someone upset because I’m standing in front of them. I stood in the front row of the show and everyone could see! It was amazing. And yes, just because I’m 6’6 doesn’t mean I can’t be front row– end rant. Being a smaller venue, no matter where you are you’ll have a great spot to take pictures and see the show. I love the second level balcony that gives it a real club vibe kind of like the Pit on Beverly Hills 90210(ok I’m dating myself). They have a few bars located around the venue. Beer is about $ 8 so standard concert prices. I would definitely come back here and hope I can go to a show here soon because this place is pretty great.

Never again. This SRO venue oversells gigs to the detriment of its customers, to the point of it being unbearable, if not dangerous. Beyond that, the improvements are worn out and dated, the restrooms were filthy and the sound system left a whole lot to be desired.

Awesome intimate venue to always your favorite artist. We came to see Donovan and had a fantastic time. Tip, get there early and grab a spot on the veranda. There’s a bar up there and a bathroom that was never packed during our visit. It was the perfect little corner. They should probably update that veranda, the structure is questionably shaky. Overall nice venue with no smoking. Woot!

It was our first time at the Culture Room and we were there to see An Evening with Ed Kowalczyk of the 90s band LIVE! Wow! What a great show he put on! The drinks at the club were modestly priced, and the crowd, for the most part was attentive! Great time!

Been standing in line an hour just to get in. Been waiting for Todd Rundgren to start & still waiting. I’m pissed. The venue is cool. I don’t care who you are. .treat people right. no communication. Who knows if he’s even here. Rude… inconsiderate. .unnecessary. Get over yourselves.

Good enough concert venue, BUT which was ridiculously overcrowded for the recent Dark Star orchestra shows. I arrived late on purpose(745 for a 730 start after a 630 door open) only to find a 50 yard line to enter — exactly what I’d been hoping to avoid. The line moved at a snail’s pace. Eventually I got in and it was literally impossible to find anywhere — without big-time pushing to actually see the stage. The layout has a main square-ish room with one balcony and a small covered area on stage left and large covered area on stage right(both with bars). But on entering, the absolute best I could was squeeze in tight in the first bar and see half the stage. And that was with some pushing. A literal impossibility to contemplate getting to the bathrooms on the other side. In addition, there is a nice outdoor(open roof) area just as you enter, but that is effectively a separate room with no view on the stage. For the second set I traversed the floor to be near the bathrooms only to undergo effectively endless pushing and shoving as there were simply too many — no WAYTOOMANY people in the venue. I ended up shoved back against the security door /exit in the back and heard diminished music and saw about half the stage. Only towards the end did I realized what I’d been missing as I actually made it onto the main floor to actually see the show. It was great. The music quality was 10x better. Net: I don’t know what the fire marshal says the capacity is here, but it’s hard to believe they’d approve of the scene I saw last night. I ended up missing out on a large part of a great show simply because they’d sold maybe 20−30% too many tickets.

Live shows are one of my main interests, and often I become as enamored with certain venues as I do the acts playing in them. Culture Room is one of my favorite venues in Fort Lauderdale. I will openly tell you that it isn’t the biggest venue, not necessarily the most cutting edge venue, and not even the nicest, but that is what makes this place so damn cool. So let me explain what makes this venue so fun to see shows at. The first thing is that the floor plan is fairly open once your enter from the outside open air/merch area. Why that is so great is that this place doesn’t have the same bottleneck issues many venues have. There is a nice upstairs bar to stage right, a great view to watch shows from. The sound in this place is far better than it’s face would leave one to believe, and if a band you love or you want to see is playing here, do not hesitate to get a ticket because in this place you are very close to them, right up to the stage giving the band to crowd dynamic a very intimate feel. This is one of the best places to see bands up close and in the raw as the particular vibe of this venue tends to put the bands and performers into a mode i can say is different form many other venues i have been to. I must admit that the staff here always seems to be disconnected from wtf is going on and sometimes come off as though they are doing you a favor they don’t want to by being there. They almost always seem like they have something better to do. but then again, I don’t buy tix to go see the staff there. I would also like to add that if you try to call this place and contact them by phone, well. um, good luck with that. The main point is that this is a great place to see a show if you want to be in an intimate setting with the band and other fans versus some of the overpriced places with downright cruel staff and flagrant safety issues going on. Check out Culture Room. Bands/performers I have seen there include Clutch, The Easy Star All Stars, & Doug Stanhope.

I’ve seen several shows at the Culture Room over the years, and it’s my favorite concert venue. Here’s why: 1. It’s tiny. Even if you’re in the very back, you have a great view because this place is so small. Also, the stage is elevated high enough that, unless you have Shaq in front of you, you’ll be able to see. 2. Free parking. Yeah, it’s in a small shopping plaza, and parking is limited. But unlike most other concert venues, you’re parking for free versus paying anywhere from $ 20 to $ 40. If there’s no parking in the plaza, park across the street. 3. That disco ball makes for some pretty awesome pictures.

I’ve only been to this place once, but I had a great time. Its small and intimate, the sound is great. Drink prices weren’t overly expensive(they were about what you’d expect when going out. 7 $ for a beer) I saw my favorite band Iration here — maybe thats why I thought it was so awesome, and I was actually pretty damn close. Iration was AMAZING the vibe was just perfect, it did get packed and hot, but it wasn’t overwhelming. plus thats usually what happens when you’re at a concert. Cant wait to see more bands here in the future. PS — Bring back Iration pretty pretty please
