What a disappointment! We read all the reviews and decided to try it. I guess we’re spoiled coming from Chicago where we have great Greek food. This was like mediocre fast food! The gyros sandwich was decent size but the meat was like crumbles of gyros! All small pieces of meat. The tzatziki sauce tasted like a packaged mix. Very disappointing. We had a Greek salad and there was very little dressing. I would not waste my time going back!

The food is good but the service is horrible. The guy that answers the phone has the worst phone etiquette. I’ve called a few times and the guy is just notoriously rude.

Must try, I highly recommend going here at least once. There are multiple Greek restaurants in this area with Plakka or Plaka in the name. We found Nomiki’s Plakka by accident while looking for one of the others… so make sure you know which one you are looking for. The food is really good here and good quality. It is a bit small inside, so make sure you go when it isn’t a busy hour. You can tell a place is good when many people are standing and waiting for a table to open up.

My husband and I discovered Nomiki’s Plakka via a Groupon offer. I needed to satisfy my garlic cravings, which first emerged after time spent in the Mediterranean. The atmosphere here is casual but has elements that put a smile on my face. Photos and video featuring Greece brought back happy memories. The background music wasn’t obtrusive but added another layer of enjoyment during our late lunch. The service was great but not hovering. Our beverages were refilled several times without us having to wait or make a request. Our meals(gyro for my husband and chicken souvlaki for me) were delicious. The meat was moist and flavorful. The tzatziki was amazing, very authentic and full of garlic and cucumber flavor. It was the perfect consistency. So many places serve tzatziki that runs like a thin sauce out of your pita. This was thick and set my taste buds to singing from the garlic. We’re looking forward to a return visit. On a side note: I read a review making a reference to this being Americanized because they serve french fries with gyros. This made me laugh. They serve fries INSIDE gyros in many places in Greece, including my favorite lunch stop in Santorini. Just sayin’…

The service was good, but the food was overall mediocre. My wife had the Loukaniko and she thought it was good. I had the Gyro Pita that was poor at best. Meat was dry like it had been reheated and had no taste at all. The tzatziki sauce lacked the garlic and cucumber taste that I am used to at the authentic Greek restaurants in Detroit. I will not be back.

Delicious and Authentic Greek food! We started with the hummus that was served with the chefs fresh herb dip. It was amazing! Some of the best hummus I have ever had. The Gyro and Souvlaki we ate were yummy as well and the portions are large. The servers were attentive and very friendly as well.

I love a good Gyro and we found it at Plakkas. The fried cheese was very good with the pita chips and the dipping sauce. Three of us had the house salad(very good) and the Gyros. We had enough to take home and have another sandwich the next day! It was the beautiful drive on Mcgregor Blvd. we will be back often. On our way out, we were handed their homemade dessert which was absolutely fabulous! Thank you Pete and Joanne for recommending this place to us.

Walked in around 8:30 on a Saturday night, and was instantly greeted with a dozen smiling faces. Chose a comfortable booth and relaxed amidst the warm atmosphere of Grandma YiaYia’s kitchen. I’m a sucker for a classic pork souvlaki, so I ordered that and a Greek coffee. My waiter was humble and clean cut and allowed me to get right to the chase. My food was out on the table in ten minutes flat and I proceeded to chow down. The souvlaki was filled with deliciously tender chunks of pork and towered with French fries on the side. I sipped on my coffee for a few minutes with my pinky finger slightly raised with satisfaction. When it came time to leave, my waiter warmly thanked me and I walked out the door with some extra spring in my step. By far the best Greek cuisine I’ve had in fort Myers; I will definitely be back and might even go for some desert! 10⁄10

I have loved this restaurant in the past, the zucchini has become soggy and bland. The Greek salad is still my favorite, skordalia is still very good. A bit on the pricey side

As far as Greek food in FL, this is the best I’ve found thus far. The food always tasted fresh and is always seasoned nicely. Service is always on par for a small eatery. Maybe slow once or twice, but those times were exceptions to the service we usually receive. As for the reviewer complaining that their«fresh» food was frozen prior to it being cooked. I hate to tell you, 90% of all restaurant meat is frozen at some point prior to use. The term«Fresh» usually means freshly prepared, as it was in your case as opposed to having reheated food that was cooked a day or two in advance. Microwaves are used in every restaurant to heat sides, defrost items, etc. It’s just that in most restaurants, the customers don’t have a view of this being done. You’d be shocked to see what goes on in most kitchens that do not offer a view of your food being prepared. We eat here a lot and have yet to be disappointed in the food. Will definitely be back again.

Great food! Haven’t had Gyros for a very long time and this place is awesome! Our Server was very attentive and explained the menu to us. The smelt dish my brother has is very flavorful as well as my spiced lamb gyro. We will definitely come back with more friends and family.

Used to be better… after the renovation prices have increased twice and portions have gotten smaller. Used to have lunch here once a week fully knowing I will get sick right after. Twice the green beans were sour and even after reporting it to the server nothing was done. Been eating at the new Plaka II now, haven’t got sick thus far. Ms. Aggeliki, implying that I lie is of poor class on your part. I simply stated my experience. I am no friends with Plaka 2. If Plaka 2 messes up believe me, I will post a review. Plaka 2 is not the only Greek restaurant in town, there are several. I have been dining in Nomikis-Plaka for over 5 years! So, when I post a review I am careful about what I write. Not trying to hurt anyone. On the contrary, maybe you can use my review to correct the issues stated above. Wish you all the best.

We ate here at the suggestion of my mother-in-law, she loves it. Family friendly and casual. We got the meat platter as an appetizer so we could try everything, and I’m glad we did. The Greek meatballs were fried perfectly, and we got gyros for dinner. Everything was seasoned well and we left stuffed– would definitely go back next year.

I tried this place because of the great Unilocal reviews and a groupon offer and am so happy I did! We had the dolmathes appetizer, gyro, and grilled octopus, which came with a greek salad. All were delicious! The service was perfect — attentive, but not too attentive. The décor is cute — they even had a video of Greece playing on a flat screen TV. We will definitely be back! Next time I will skip the appetizer and try dessert. :-)

I usually come here for lunch. The portions are large and flavorful. Very good Greek salads. The flaming cheese is to die for. The gyro sandwiches are delicious and they don’t skimp on the meat. Save room for dessert.

FINALLY! A place for AMAZING Greek food that isn’t from my mom’s kitchen! Just tried Nomiki’s for the first time this past Sunday. Had seen the commercials and that there’s supposedly a deal for gyro’s on Sundays and Tuesdays($ 6 instead of$ 8) I’m not sure if it’s a new deal and they didn’t remember. But with how DELICIOUS the gyro was and MASSIVE(at least double the size of most places) compared to most Greek restaurants around… I’ll pay the extra $ 2 especially since fries are included with it unlike most other places. The calamari was pan fried instead of deep fried and was PERFECTION especially since it was a mix of tentacles and rings(the tentacles are a favorite in this house) can’t wait to try more of their menu. Can tell just by reading the menu that the dolmathes(stuffed grape leaves) are made on sight cause they use meat and not just rice.(If it’s just rice it’s usually from a can.)

I’ve been dining at this restaurant for over a decade. It’s a family favorite. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is family owned, and the food is excellent. Vegan recommendations: — Green Beans(get a side order — they are amazing) — Hummus with pita(I ask for hummus with veggies(not on the menu)).

From where I was sitting in the dinning room I could literally see meal after meal entering the microwave. At 7:30pm which is when everything should be in full swing we were told that the gyro meat was going to be a 20 minute wait, the waitress said it was because it needed to be freshly made, the confused expression in my face caused her to add«well it’s frozen right now» which further confused me because she just said that it was«freshly made». My mum stupidly still ordered it and I ordered the chicken gyro. It was at this point I noticed the microwave being used like a conveyer belt for dishes of food — shocking. We still stayed, food was ok at first, my chicken wasn’t that great. Only an hour later did we realize we both felt sick. Needless to say I won’t go back, the salads on the table next to us looked fresh and nice, but that’s probably because they couldn’t be microwaved.

3 ½ STARS We stopped in here for lunch on a Saturday and it was quite busy. We each had the gyro and thought it to be delicious. This is certainly an authentic Greek restaurant. It’s actually a nice Greek diner in atmosphere and furnishings — very pleasant. It is Americanized, however, with fries coming with the gyro, and no substitutions. What’s up with that? The server was pleasant, if a bit nonchalant & distant. Atmosphere — 4STARS Food — 3STARS Service — 3STARS
