Nice hotel with friendly staff. Jeanie at the front helped us upgrade our room and was very helpful. Super hot too. I’m only leaving 5 stars because she’s hot and works there. Jeanie call me~
Free breakfast was good because it’s free. Beware of the bacon. It looks and sort of smells like bacon, but its reminiscent of a mailable plastic with bacon scented spray. You have been warned.

I stay at a lot of hotels, three in the past two weeks and out of the three this is the worst. I guess it is fairly new but come on. The face of my sink a 3×5 board was lying on the bathroom floor when I checked in and they cleaned my room several times during my stay and never bothered to fix it. All the finishes and things look very cheap, and out of maybe 4 front desk attendants only 1 has greeted me as I walked in. Go somewhere else.

Good location– only 15 minutes (or less) from Hurlburt Field, even at rush hour. Breakfast is decent, especially the pancake machine. There is a tiny laundry room with 1 washer and 1 dryer ($ 2 each). Staff is friendly. Wifi is free and faster than most hotels I’ve been to lately. Plenty of power outlets in the room (2 on each nightstand lamp).

Clean hotel with a good breakfast in the morning. New, so had plenty of available plug ins for charging all of the family electronics. Staff very nice as well.
Only accessible if you are going north and unable to turn south out of hotel. You are able to U turn close by, but still not easy. Also on a very loud street if you are on the front of the hotel. We could hear every muffler driving up and down the street.
Overall, nice hotel as long as you are a heavy sleeper!

I stayed here with my boyfriend for ten days. We had a room on the first floor with a king size bed. They serve breakfast from 6−10am everyday. On the weekends, breakfast started at 7am. The food was typical oatmeal (preflavored packets) eggs, sausages (turkey or bacon), cinnamon rolls, yogurt, coffee and a variety of teas. It is a typical continental style breakfast, there was also a variety of breads and fresh fruit.
The hotel is in a convenient location with a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. There is also the Santa Rosa Mall, which has a movie theatre behind it. There’s another theatre closer to the hotel near Publix.
They have a pool that is open from 8 am until 10pm everyday. Most of the guests didn’t hit the pool as religiously as we did. But we didn’t have a car, so it was the closest thing to getting into a body of water. There is also a room with a treadmill, bicycle and elliptical. If you want to wash clothes they also have a laundry room. But I wouldn’t recommend it, $ 2.00 a load to wash and an additional $ 2 to dry the clothes. They have a tiny computer room with two computers and a printer. If you’re looking to get some work done or check email, they’re decent computers.
The staff was great and they were all extremely helpful with any requests. I locked myself out of my room once and they gave me a new set of keys. We asked for towels whenever we went to the pool. There was also daily housekeeping.
It lost a star because on our last night there appeared a lovely cockroach climbing on our wall. It was tiny but quite disappointing.
Overall it was a great experience. We have since moved to the area and fondly remember this place as our first home, haha. I would highly recommend it.

Some of these photos are wrong for this hotel. This hotel on 522 Mary Esther Cutoff is NOT on the beach. There is another Holiday Inn RESORT on Okaloosa Island that these pictures refer to. The Holiday Inn RESORT on Santa Rosa Blvd has closed, but they have built a BRAND NEW Holiday Inn Resort at 1299 Miracle Strip Parkway (HWY 98) on Okaloosa Island and has just newly opened which those photos belong.
This location (522 Mary Esther Cutoff) Holiday Inn Express and Suites Hotel Northwest is very nice, clean and new! Very modern décor, high ceilings, granite countertops in bathroom, great breakfast! Staff was friendly. This hotel location is within walking distance of the Santa Rosa Mall, theater across the street, Publix supermarket across the street, Chilis two buildings down, and Dunkin Donuts next door. A few minutes drive to the beach. Loved our stay here!

Beautiful hotel! Great location! First week open so some minor issues. Would of given a 5 star rating if the Tiki bar would of been open as planned and the poolside service was better. Great activities for the kids! My son loved Captain Dave! Food was great. Hotel doesn’t offer free breakfast so be prepared to pay 11 a person. Perfect beach location. Maid service missed us 2 of the 5 days:(but Frank was awesome and always around to accommodate us! Not a great location for Verizon phone or wifi.
