Smoke. Smoke and more Smoke. I don’t know why I keep coming back here, I swing by once a year hoping they will actually change. I guess it’s the only real dance spot in Fort Worth and I’d rather not truck it over into Dallas for a good night out but FW seems to have a love affair with cancer sticks. I was ok for the first 30 minutes and then some«interesting» looking guys came in wearing a lot of heavy cologne and Ed Hardy. The shot girls were way too pushy, even when I had a drink in my hand. Our party of 8 left by 11:30 because it was too much. The next day I dropped my outfit off at the cleaners.

Now I don’t know very much about Forth Worth and I won’t pretend to. So I do what every young-hearted person should do… I Unilocaled it… So I was reading some positive things about Bar Nine. Obviously this is very subjective, but I appreciate a nice crowd and a variety of music. why not. Pull up… nice location… the door guy is pretty cool… not much of a line(uh oh… maybe?). This place is three levels… all of which played the same kind of music, which was pretty whack on a Saturday night NOT gonna lie. And it has sooo much potential if they could get their ish together. I really like to find the positive in places and I will say they had drink specials on a Saturday night as well as no cover… so, my saving grace is at it again! Additionally the bouncers and bartenders were pretty nice and I always appreciate good folks. Meh

This place reminds me of American horror story. On top of the wierdness of this place, bartenders are not trained at all, and the crowd is on the sketchy side. The service didn’t make up for the creepy atmosphere. I will qualify this though, I am typically a pub or sports bar kind of guy or out for martini’s/whiskey if it’s a nicer night out so this place might not be for me but between being sketched out and having a poor experience with the staff, I won’t be returning.

I have to say I’ve had nothing but good times here. It’s not the classiest place on earth but I’ve had 4 – 6 «ladies nights» with my girlfriends at Bar 9 and it’s one of our favorite places to go! We enjoy dancing on the first floor and eventually make it down to the basement. Great DJs every time I’ve gone. Drinks are a tad more expensive than other bars in the area but not so much as to keep you away. Here I think it’s all about who you go with. Since I go with my ladies, we go for dancing and to party with each other, not to pick up guys! For us, that’s what makes this place great, it’s a good venue to dance with friends. That being said, I’m not quite a regular there(or downtown really), but definitely a place I like to go if we DO venture downtown.

This is my place! I go there as a lone girl and dance the night away! I have become friends with all of the bouncers and most of the staff and know I am always going to be looked out for there. There is no cover but there is a dress code. No hats, no pants down below your butt or ratty shirts or tank tops for men. Women, look nice, that’s about all I have to say there because girls do that anyway! K.C. Mac is the bartender upstairs(Friday and Saturday only), he’s probably my favorite. There are 3 floors. The Loft(upstairs) is chill, with couches and chairs in smaller rooms and music at levels that don’t melt your brain if you try to scream a conversation over them. There is smoking allowed on each floor and the 3rd floor typically has the least. There is a small dance floor upstairs but no live DJ. The music is typically more bassy and sometimes a little retro/classic rock. It’s a good fit for up there. The middle/street level floor has a small(cobbled) dance floor right as you walk in and a long bar on one side. Across the walkway from the bar is a lounge/bottle service area and there is a «cigar room» behind that which has close-able doors to better allow conversation. There is a live house/electronica DJ on the main floor Wednesday-Sunday. As you walk in the front door you can turn left and head downstairs. This is where the real dance floor is and the electronica is usually a bit more Dubstep and lively house music. This is usually where the party is at. The DJ is good and mixes pop songs into the music and can play to the crowd. There are usually some idiots standing or walking through the dance floor so you have to pay attention but its not that bad and the atmosphere is good. The best bottle service table in the house — if you want a show and not a conversation– is directly in front of the DJ. The bottle service girls are sweet and attentive. The bar tenders are capable. Adam High — who used to be the big guy at the door now wanders level to level checking on things. He is amazing! He is legitimately the only reason I ever set foot in Bar 9 and is still a big reason I come back. This is the best dance place in Fort Worth! I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have fun! More than likely, you’ll find me on the dance floor!

I like the music in the basement and the bartender on the third level… unfortunately the third level is always dead so we try to go where the people are, in the basement. The bartenders down there however, have always been some of the most rude ones I’ve encountered and for a nonsmoker, the ventilation down there is pretty terrible. I’d recommend the third floor or another bar…

The place is nice, great multistory lay out. I think the dress code is a bit overboard kinda like the drink prices.

I’ve been to Bar 9 many times since moving to DFW. It has everything I need because I like to bar hop. Here I can floor hop between all three levels. The basement plays a lot of techno for the dance party atmosphere, the ground level plays a lot of hip hop, and the top level is kind of a frat house party dance mix… in a good way. Yes, some of the bartenders and door guys can be a little on the rough side at first. I’m definitely the type to boycott a bar over rude service, but I guess I’ve gotten to know some of the staff and they’re overall very friendly to me.

Mixed emotions about this place, the most notable being anger towards the bouncer. After seeing waves of people entering with no issues, I was stopped and told, «Gimme twenty dollars.» I refused as no one else was asked to pay and was helped out by some other patrons who no doubt at some point were probably harassed also. I ended up getting inside without having to pay and had a decent time, the drinks were affordable and the women aplenty. I did end up going downstairs to find another room jam packed with people… now this was the experience I was looking for(though not for everyone). All in all, still an enjoyable experience with the exception fo the ass at the entrance, that was however enough to make me look for other bars/clubs in the area.

My wife was here a little bit ago and left her debit card. We live in Dallas and have kids, and she happened to get sick the next day. Her mother lives closer and we gave her a note and left a voice message that she could pick it up. They wouldn’t let her and now we have to drive our whole family over there on a Sunday night with a sick mother just so she can show her ID and get the stupid thing back… Bar 9 is definitely a big no from now on. Horrible customer service!

Been here twice already and I love it! They spin hip hop and house type music. More hip hop than not on the top floor. We had a table reserved and bottle service the last time we were there. The bartenders are great they even dance and do tricks at the bar while making drinks. The place is pricier for drinks than other places, but I’ll pay it because I like the atmosphere.

Worst experience because of the rude staff and lack of patrons service. Group of us went there early Saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday. Went downstairs and decided to sit in the unmarked lounge area, When it go a little busier, we were asked to move out of the area in a demanding tone to the floor area which was already full of people. I asked the«manager» why there were no reservation signs put up so we could have got good seating when we first went there. Again, he demanded moving to the busy floor area and being a total a** about it. A minute later, he got the bouncers(cops) to escort us out because it his«his house» and he can choose who he wants in there. Shucks, becareful patrons, he may not like you and ask you to leave too. Plenty of other fun places to go to — this was my first time ever in 35 years to be asked to leave a club for asking a question which could be helpful to the management.

Sunday night… Done. Bottle service… Done. Beer Pong… and DONE. Had a lot of fun in our little roped off area on the entrance floor of Bar 9 for my girls birthday. The building was beautiful and old looking. There is a back room with some comfy couches and a fireplace, with the perfect amount of open space for some beer pong which was played. I can’t vouch for the drinks there since we got bottle service and made our own, but 2 bottles for $ 160.00 and our own seating area wasn’t bad at all. There were some pretty douchey men there. At the end of the night a fight got started in the beer pong room and we watched as it slowly made it’s way to the front door infecting everyone it came in contact with… much like a domino effect. Not sure if I would go on any other night than Sunday… May be a little too clubby for my taste, but for a chill Sunday it was good times.

according to the«rating key», I struggle with giving this bar 2 stars: «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» because of the potential that this spot has to be really great. The ideal spot, in my opinion, for Fort Worth. Bottom line: like other reviewers, I am HORRIFIED by the way the«door guy» treats people”, It’s absurd. If you can stomache the authority that he gloats about and make it inside the venue, it’s a great night spot. Multi levels, great DJs and fantastic staff(with a MAJOR exception of the«door guy») bartenders and service staff and security are professional, personable and ideal for a stand out venue. This night spot has a great layout, but an unprofessional and abrasive«door guy», who snatched my wrist after I entered the club and removed me for making a comment about how insulted I was that he had not recognized me from MANY visits, and bringing a profitable business to the establishment. I have NEVER been asked to leave a place of business in my life, only welcomed and appreciated for my business. I suppose«door guy» had the pent up authority to remove anyone who he felt was not serving to him. Disturbing behavior for a business owner, Im sure. ABSURD behavior! No idea what«door guy’s» name is, since he refuses to disclose it, but MISREPRESENTS himself as the manager. Again, behavior that the venue operator would most likely be concerned with. I can concur and add to the unfavorable reviews/feedback of the«doorguy» at Bar 9. Negative feedback of this bar is directed towards«door guy» who has a skewed grasp on the parameters of his duties.(google it) NOTATALL the quality of individual I am accustomed to interacting with as a first impression of an establishment. The representation at the door of Bar 9 is so very poor. Like other reviewers, I do not appreciate the treatment I received from«door guy». I am especially unsure of how to comprehend being physically, aggressively grabbed by the wrist and pulled from the venue after making a private comment to my friend about his rudeness at the entrance. Very disturbed and somewhat violated by this, will definitely pass this experience on to the management, as I am certain they would not condone this behavior and liability from thier staff. Once safe from the grasp of «door guy» AKA, «I am the manager» the staff and atmosphere inside is ideal. So unfortunate.

Not as many cheeseballs classier than most bars great atmosphere, three levels so if it gets really loud head upstairs. Downstairs gets crazy after 1:00. Different ambiance on every floor. Great for large groups, you can reserve a floor or a table. Djs rock. Bartenders are the bom. Ask for a tic tac! Personal fav!!!

I don’t know why we didn’t start off here in the first place. I don’t make it out to Fort Worth as much as I’d like to, but I’ve always had good times at Bar 9 from what I can remember :) After making the rounds around downtown in search of the happening spot on a Tuesday, we came around to Bar Nine. At 1am, it was hoppin’! We made our way downstairs, to what I like to compare to a dungeon. Hey, I’m not complaining though! It was the right place for our more than drunk’selves to watch and mingle with other drunkies who like to get crazy and throw caution to the wind on a Tuesday night.

Skeezy dudes and cheap looking ladies make Bar Nine the premier douche bar in Fort Worth. I can honestly say my trip there this weekend has me looking at the bar scene to the West with a sharper lens. We ended up here on Friday after one too many drinks at The Library prevented sound judgment from coming into play. For some reason, I had no problem with the fact I had to wait in line to get into the bar. I didn’t even mind the line to get a drink.. .it’s a bar these things happen. I did find it interesting that the guy working the door held himself in such high regard. Like he was the last line of defense fighting on behalf of the beautiful people to keep the the rest of the ugly world out of their bar.. .unless you were a TCU student with a $ 5 you could slip him in a handshake. Seriously. Don’t get me wrong, Bar Nine is a nice bar. It’s definitely a trendy spot(can’t you just tell by its name?) and you have to expect a certain level of attitude when attending a place like that. But this is definitely NOT the place you’d expect to see people slipping bills to cut in line. After waiting outside for a few minutes admiring the site before me, we made our way into the bar. There are two levels to the place and we were on the upper. It was packed but not too much, and had a real laid back feel to it. If I were to judge solely on the upper level, I’d probably toss a couple more stars on the review, but there’s a Jekyll to this Hyde. We noticed a line snaking around the bar and found out it led to the downstairs bar which is more like a club. So now we were waiting in line inside a bar to get to another part of the bar that was being guarded by ANOTHER bouncer. And yes, he was taking bills for faster access past the velvet rope. So we waited again then headed down some stairs I’m surprised I could navigate while inebriated into a room full of sweaty bodies and thumping music. We worked our way through to meet up with some friends. Frat boys tossed the evil eye when we worked our way past them. Dudes in graphic tees tried to get handsy with the girls we were with and the inevitable drinks were splashed on us as we tried to slip past grinding couples without getting penetrated. Awesome. Once we got situated it was still pretty much shoulder to shoulder standing room and I was constantly getting jabbed in the back by the elbows of an overaggressive kid trying to impress his date. Bonus negative points for the door guys being douchey to my girlfriend when she tried to go back into the bar to get the rest of our party. Avoid this one.. .unless you’re a douche.
