Charming and quaint setting. The outside is already eye-catching with its adorable painted signs and illustrations. The inside is laden with deer head wall hangings, old country paintings, decorative fake planters lining each wall with flowers, and dimly bit by street lamps. Very cute and possibly romantic atmosphere. The waiting staff are dressed in Bavarian dresses and super polite. The restaurant is family-owned, from the owner to the staff to the live music. It’s nice to be in a place where the owner will help out by wiping tables, and the accordion player stops by to talk to guests between songs. There’s always live music, and an open dance floor for those who want to participate in the chicken dance. The food is delicious. I’ve had the jäger schnitzel both times, and highly recommend it. The combo plate is piled with a little of everything. The menu is on the pricy side, with entrees ranging from $ 16-$ 22. You’ll definitely leave full, though. The menu may be costly, but the food, environment, and friendly staff definitely make it worth the visit.

So good!!! Made the decision after checking the other German options and Went in Saturday night. Such a cute atmosphere and the staff is great’ great beer choices both bottle and draft with good prices. The potato pancakes are the best I’ve had. Got 2 entrees and both so great but loved the Jäger Schnitzel the best! Huge portions for the price. planned on having a few more beers but ended up going next door whichever as also great!

Went here once as a kid while visiting Fort Worth. Then, many years later while apartment hunting with my husband we decided to eat here. As a kid I moved around a lot and I don’t have any roots in the Fort Worth area since I just moved up here a few years ago. So, it was so neat to step inside of a place that looked mostly unchanged over the years. Back then I believe it was an Italian restaurant and they had singing waiters lol. The food is excellent here and the staff is very friendly. My husband and I both really enjoyed eating here. We will definitely be back!

Great food, good prices, excellent bier and Tringa was outstanding! Ask for her! We were there on a Sunday afternoon and there weren’t many patrons at the time. But, I hear that there is a great oompah band and it’s lovely on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings so we will be back!!!

Very good authentic German food. I was pleasantly surprised. I almost left after pulling into the parking lot because it doesn’t look like much from the outside. Don’t let this fool you. The staff was very nice and attentive and there was a live piano player who played beautifully while I ate my dinner. If I lived in town, I would come all the time.

Unfortunately this restaurant has gone downhill. We have given it a handful of chances to redeem itself and it just isn’t anywhere close to what it used to be, both the food and customer service. Such a bummer because it really is a neat place.

I had the sauerbraten. AKA: shoe leather. Dry, chewy, and parts were burnt black like it was made a month ago, then reheated in a frying pan. I’ve eaten juicier drywall. The two Germans we brought with us said the only things that remotely resembled German food were the names. Not authentic. Not good. I’ll give it a star because the server was ok and I didn’t die.

Edelweiss is Fort Worth’s most overrated tourist trap. The first time we came here, more than 10 years ago, it was a unique and interesting experience and I remember the food being really good. On a more recent visit, there were a lot of troubling signs of decline like broken furniture. The whole place seemed dark and dismal. The food was mediocre.

We came here with some friends for dinner after visiting museums. We arrived around 5pm and even though we had a 6p mm reservation the place was happy to take us in a little early. As soon as we sat down the place started to get packed. The ambiance of this place is quaint, charming, and a little cheesy. It was definitely not a young crowd. The wait staff wears traditional Bavarian clothing to add to the«authenticity». They even had live music. A woman who sang Christmas music in English and German. I found it charming; my boyfriend was unimpressed. We ordered the potato pancakes to start with and the order was a perfect amount for the 4 of us. They were also delicious! Perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside. Everyone at the table was pleasantly surprised. Before our food came out they brought bread, butter, and salads. The bread felt and smelled freshly baked. The salad was nothing special, but for the price of the entrees it seemed like a good amount of food. We ordered our entrees. I read below that someone made fun of the items on the menu like the spaghetti and burger. I didn’t expect this place to be the most authentic place in the world so this didn’t bother me. I had the combination plate, my boyfriend had the sausage plate(polish and knack wurst), a friend had the goulash. We all really enjoyed our food! Very flavorful. Loved the sauerkraut! The service had minor issues but nothing major. For dessert we shared strudel, black forest cake, and German Chocolate cake. The strudel was definitely the star or desserts. It was so comforting and not too sweet. I would definitely come back.

Once so full of life, now dark and drap. The food is ok, the atmosphere is just blah. The place just needs a good cleaning. But on weekends they have live music and dancing, which is fun. And some nights a guy goes table to table and plays the accordion… which is fun.

Pretty good place to eat. I usually just go here to drink. They have a good selection of beer. I always get the chicken fried steak and it hasn’t let me down.

This is my second time going. I wanted to try it again. The place is a real pain in the ass to get too without making a wrong turn. The Weatherford traffic circle is confusing. The restaurant is old, outdated and need remodeling however its also still very nice and different from your typical chain restaurants. Big beer sizes and generous to say the least. First time i had pork tenderloin and this time i has the beef and was really good. Im glad i tried it again. They had a live piano player. First time they had a live band.

What a kitschy little place! Blue lights line the interior and old dusty chandeliers hanging from ceiling fans. There’s even a delightful guy that goes around playing the accordion. He stopped by our table to play all sorts of songs, even got me to play with him on the accordion haha. I got the sausage plate with two brats, extra fried potatoes, and creamed spinach since I don’t like red cabbage and sauerkraut. Food was good, service was great for our large group of 13!

I was so excited to go here for my brother inlaws birthday. I mean my grandparents did have their 50th anniversary and I had my 18th birthday here… many many moons ago. I LOVED this place. I’m sad to say the food is so subpar now. Hey owner guy — get a new chef!!! The spatZel had no taste what so ever. The red cabbage had a weird taste and the jaeger schnitzel was wel ehhhhh. The potato cakes were burnt! The Burnd kisses tasted like they were from sonic and the ranch dressing was as thick is water. New owner please please please do not tarnish this place. Sit down, taste your menu fire your chef. Get someone with passion.

This place tickles me to no end. It is like a walking stereotype of what Americans think Germany is like despite never going there. My friend and I hit this place up after I showed him the website. From the get-go, we did not expect this place to be authentic, but c’mon… It also probably did not help that he actually grew up and currently lives in Bavaria, and Munich is one of my favorite cities on the planet. So, off we go for our faux-German adventure. Let me tell you, we were not prepared. The mixture of the various dirndls and lederhosen were interesting, to say the least. We giggled a bit at the mixture of regions, but loved the effort. The beer menu featured the usual suspects like Frankiskaner and Hofbrau, but nothing too amazing. The food has to be where things got really interesting. The majority of the menu is definitely not German. I mean, like hilariously not. For instance, you can get burgers and there’s something called Spaghetti Edelweiss. Also, they actually had German Chocolate Cake on the menu. Look, I get it. I once thought it was German too, but as my friend pointed out, there’s a mighty lack of coconuts in Germany and none that are indigenous. LOL! Well played my sexy, Germany friend; you are so right. So we opt to order Jaeger Schnitzel(I figure there’s no way you can go wrong there) and he ordered the German Style Sauerbraten. Let me tell you, both of these dishes were made of NO. Everything that could have gone wrong absolutely did. The cabbage came out burnt and they replaced it for me and his spätzle was just unpalatable. While trying to find some enjoyment out of the meal, the polka band started up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone laugh so hard when the Chicken Dance started. This band was the highlight of our night. I hate that I could not get him to get up and show us Texans how it’s really done. He then explained to me that no one does that dance and he is not sure why Americans keep thinking that it is a German tradition when the song came from Switzerland. I tried to argue that they were Swiss-Germans but he was having none of it. We ended our meal with an extremely dry piece of German chocolate cake to seal the deal(he called my Mom and got her to make him one the next day because he was so disappointed after having her’s) and we called it a night. I must say that this was a one-of-a-kind experience and I can’t see going back. The price tag and the lack of quality definitely overshadowed the great customer service. But you know, you can’t put a price tag on giggles and we definitely had plenty.

Edelweiss is such a great place. The food is great, the selection is nice and the people are friendly. But best of all is the atmosphere. Complete with a delightful man playing the accordion at tables, talking to guests, and generally just being entertaining. It’s a bit in the pricey side, but worth every penny!
