This place has been a favorite of my family and extended family for well over 15 years now! Do yourself a favor and order the ceviche. It can’t be beat! Quick tip-this place is a Mexican SEAFOOD place, so order the seafood. Every time I take someone here and they aren’t blown away by how great it is, it’s because they ordered something standard like burritos. There standard Mexican food is good. But there Mexican seafood is to die for!

I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere is awesome and the food is just as good. Had that tableside guac(AWESOME!) and cheese enchiladas. Both were great! The margarita was good as well. Will definitely be back!!!

Great chips and salsa and the most tender and tasty fajitas. I’ve only been a few times but I’ve liked everything I’ve ordered. My go to Mexican place.

Very good variety to choose from. Seafood is my favorite, whether it’s Asian, Italian, Mexican, American or whatever. I love a restaurant that has a good seafood section. I got the seafood enchiladas. Good portions. The crab and shrimp tasted fresh. Plenty of cheesy sauce. Service was great. Always had chip, salsa and drink through the meal. I’ve been coming here for years. I will keep coming back.

We found this restaurant using Unilocal!and the reviews were pretty on point. We had a party of 6, so got a good selection of their menu. We were seated quickly and waitstaff was quick to come by with chips and salsa. Our drink and meal orders were taken quickly. We started with queso and table side guacamole. The guacamole was AWESOME! The queso was good/average. I had the chile rellano tejano(stuffed with brisket) and covered with chile con carne instead of the queso. My wife got their fajita enchiladas(due to other reviews). Kids got cheese enchilada plates. Sister-in-laws ate a healthier shrimp enchilada plate with white rice. Everyone was pleased with their meal and we all discussed that this would be a place we would come to again and would recommend to friends! Clean, fast, affordable, good food, bottom line.

Disappppointing fish tacos battered in cat fish batter. Bland and unoriginal. Staff was polite but not clear when asked about menu items. Children’s plate was so covered in cheese I had a small heart attack looking at it. Sister is a pescaterian and had a decent looking filet but the greens appeared to be iceberg lettuce. Daughters quesadilla was decent but average. If you are a foodie, this is not the place for you.

La Playa Maya hides from you. It’s tucked away off of Camp Bowie. LPM is one of my favorites. Most of the staff has been there at least 8 years. Well, I have been eating here ever since I moved to Fort Worth in 06 and see the same faces time and time again. La Playa Maya lets you know up front that some of their entrees will take at least 15 minutes to prepare. Their salsa isn’t thick, but it’s still good. As well as their chips and queso. I love their fajitas. Especially the Cadillac Fajitas which comes with Ribeye steak. The Carne Asada is good as well. They give you a generous portion of meat and it comes with veggies. The Pollo Con Champinones is amazing. It’s served on a hot fajita skillet with onions and poblanos. The Pechuga de pollo is a favorite of mine. It comes topped with a sauce of your choice, but to be healthy I leave the sauce off. That comes with white rice and veggies. I’m not a big fan of their chicken fajitas or the chili sauce that comes on top of the enchiladas. There is no doubt that I will be back to La Playa Maya :).

I was just not impressed. Must have hit a bad night for me or the restaurant or just ordered something I did not care for. The table side guacamole was a little different but still good. Chile Relleno was not battered, but they did warn me on the menu. So that was my own fault. Doubt if I will go out of my way to go back. Service was good and atmosphere enjoyable. As you can see form the photo, the food is presented in a good manner.

I’ve lived as camp bowie for over a year now snd finally tried this location. I’ve been to the one in the stockyards several times. We sat on the patio and with the shades down and the misting fans it was comfortable. Our waitress was rewlly sweet to. We started with queso/meat/quac/sourcream. It was good but small. I saw a few other tables order the gauc amd its prepared tableside! I ordered the spinach quesadilla and sdded chicken. Delicious and a hearty portion. The swirl margarita and meltdown were both tasty. I think I’ll try hapy hour soon!

Just got finish eating the fajita enchiladas, absolutely tasty. There is only two places that I know that serves fajita enchiladas, and this is one them. Go to other Mexican restaurants, and they won’t know what your talking about. This place might be a regular:)

Just visited last night for the first time. I loved it. I had the meltdown margarita and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The fajitas were amazing. The cos and salsa aren’t the best I’ve ever had, but I wasn’t unhappy! My boyfriend said the salsa tasted a little like pace brand. We also had the cocktail maya, I didn’t love it. The shrimp were obviously frozen, but the food and drinks made up for it!!! New favorite.

My wife and I have tried all the locations and we feel that this is the best one! The real hidden treasure is the ceviche! it is the best in town and most people never order it. Its about 11 $ for the plate but it is worth every penny. TRYIT you will be glad you did!!!

Ok, this will be the strangest review to date for me. For the record, I do not like Mexican food(hold your boo’s). My review is not based on food, because I only ate chips. Our family went for a family birthday lunch. We had a reservation for 14. Well, 17 showed up. Most of us were already seated, and they had to get everyone up, all the chips and salsa, and move us to another room. The manager and server handled it nicely. Now serving my entire family is like a scene from The Klumps dinner table. It’s not an easy task. My nephew dumped a whole bowl of salsa all over the table. Server cleaned it up with a smile. I at this time assured her she would be tipped accordingly. And finally, about 30 minutes into eating, my grandson had an «explsion» while sitting in his high chair. Decorum prohibts me from giving details, but it was everywhere, the floor, the high chair, and on my daughter. There was dead silence in the entire place… Poop had made its way into the dining area… So my daughter grabs the lil one, runs to the bathroom, where her, my other daughter, and my wife begin the cleaning process. Meanwhite, back at the table, the workers and a few of us begin the dining room cleaning process. It was SOGROSS, SOSMELLY! People were getting up and leaving, gagging, etc… The manager and workers managed to get everything clean very quickly. We all went for a good handwashing, and our checks were waiting on us when we got out of the restroom. They knew we had to go, and they probably wanted us to. But the 5 stars is for the way ALL of the employees dealt with this whole experience. It was amazing, and I cannot say I coulda done the same. In closing, I left a $ 50 bill on the table on top of 20% gratuity for the group. I dont like the food, but their service was second to none. The End…

La Playa Maya, La Playa Maya. Oh, La Playa Maya. How you’ve grown on me. I’ll be the first to admit that when I first ate at LPM, I was flabbergasted. This? Seriously? I’d had a cheese enchilada with chili plate. The chili tasted off, and the cheese enchilada was nothing to write home about. Over time, slowly, La Playa Maya has grown on me. We visit LPM for almost every special occasion at the office – birthdays, new-employee welcomes, holidays and just when we feel like it. We usually order from the Lunch Special menu. I haven’t tried every dish here, but I have tried quite a few and combined with my adventurous co-workers, together we have tried all of the lunch specials and a few of the other items. Notables are the brisket flautas(be sure to dip them in the salsa that comes with the chips), caldo de camaron(shrimp soup), and fish tacos. Most people rave about the cowgirl chicken, which is a grilled chicken breast drizzled with queso and served with steamed veggies on the side. We always get individual bowls of salsa with the chips, which is wonderful for those of us who like to double dip our chips but can’t when with a group. lol. I have yet to sit in the outdoor patio, but the patio is gorgeous. Give La Playa a try. Most of the food is your typical Mexican fare, but you may find something you really, really like here. :-)

This place is great. Cheap lunch specials. Great service. Nicely presented, clean, fresh! I think I might slip into a diabetic coma from the tasty sopilla. The waitress was top notch.

Hidden in a strip mall a block off of Camp Bowie. Large parking lot out front, newly added covered patio. This location in particular(of the couple around town) has always been one of my favorites for local Tex-Mex fare. Plenty of seafood options on the menu, which is rare for most Mex places. Had the fajita enchiladas, which is basically cheese enchiladas with chopped fajita fixin’s on top. Real cheese, tender carne(grilled, maybe smoked?) and fresh pico. Robust, homemade salsa with thin, crispy chips. Full bar, including a margarita machine. A favorite of West-Siders, never too crowded, always good quality Tex-Mex food.
