Please do not get this place confused with the seven other Mama Mia restaurants in town. Mama Mia Italian Grill over here on Belknap is better than them all. This one is not related to the similarly named ones off Magnolia and by TCU. I have eaten here a few times and usually order Manicotti or some variation of Alfredo. Today I ordered the pizza off a recommendation and was blown away. Previously I considered Nizza Pizza in Arlington my favorite(have since branched out to a dozen locations in DFW), but they do it better here. Fresh ingredients(that cheese!) and a crispy crust prevent the slice from wilting in your lap. I hope to continue to explore the menu further in the future!

When my group entered the restaurant, there was probably only 3 other seated tables around 7. We were definitely wary of the restaurant. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The menu was huge, and everything was so cheap. Food — 3⁄5 1. Chicken parmesan — This was a good standard chicken parmensan. It was a little tough and had too much cheese though. 2. Cheese tortellini with pink sauce — This sauce was great. I love the combination of tangy tomato sauce with cream. 3. Chicken piccata — Very large portion of chicken. My friend enjoyed it. 4. Chicken calaprese — This dish was great, because there were lots of vegetables. All of the portions were very generous and came with a salad or soup. I don’t think I’d return, but my friends really enjoyed their meal. They loved the cheap prices with very generous portions.

Spaghetti was wonderful! Best sauce I’ve tasted in a long time. Our waitress was very nice and made recommendations that turned out fabulous. The price is right and easy to find. We will be back.

Had the lobster shrimp ravioli… Absolutely amazing! Loved our waitress Erica! By no fault of staff, the ac was not working well, but food was amazing!

I’ve been here twice and both times the food has been really good. The first time we went, we got there a few minutes before closing and they still seated us. Which was really nice of them! The 2nd time we went, was around 7 pm. The service was ok, and the food was good. I’ll probably go there again.

Ordered thin crust pepperoni. The crust had a beautiful golden color and great taste, slightly crispy(rather than limp or crisped). Sampled the eggplant parmesan as well. Both were excellent. Great price as well. Specials posted for today, Friday, were variations of chicken dishes. We were emphatic in our compliments on both orders and think you’ll like what they’ve chosen to offer. I’d like owners to consider two changes: adding a few other choices for pizza toppings. They stuck with the core most often requested, but sometimes you’d like to see something different. 2nd, the dinner salad was largely ice burg lettuce with some chopped red onions, croutons, a cherry tomato and some cucumber. This could be a much more enticing offering by putting a little imagination into the dinner salad from the 1970s and before.

I ordered the special«trio lasagne». It was basically a large glob of melted cheese on top of very little meat, chicken, and vegetables. In fact, it was inedible. I replaced it with fettuccine alfredo, which had no flavor at all. I have absolutely no idea how they can call this Italian food. Clearly they have never been to Italy! Don’t waste your money!!!

We have been visiting Mamma Mia for about five years, always for dinner. They have a very large dining room that is, usually, wide open for seating. The food always tastes fresh, and service is usually prompt, though the quality of their servers is very lacking. I guess they may have trouble keeping the good ones when their dine-in business seems so slow. Our most recent visit was on a Saturday night & we were seated immediately. Our server got our drink order, came back for our appetizer order, then seemed put out when I couldn’t decide and asked for a few more minutes. It took close to ten minutes for him to return for our order. I do not want to focus on an incompetent server, so I will stop there. Bread & drinks arrived promptly & butter is on the table. Our Calamari appetizer also arrived quickly. The Calamari is typically cooked to perfection, but it is their marinara sauce that defines the dish. It has a very nice, acidic punch that just bursts with flavor. My companion ordered the Sausage & Peppers Parmesan. The aforementioned sausage is sliced & mixed with pasta, peppers, and a tangy red sauce. The dish is then topped with melted mozzarella. I had trouble deciding. They always have a few specials on their board when you walk in, but the servers NEVER mention them, so take a good, long look, okay. I considered the Calzone($ 7.95 for the«create your own») and the Antipasti Salad, but I decided on the Neapolitan meat overs pizza(Med. $ 14.95/Large $ 15.95). Previously, we have ordered the deep dish, but it take up to 45 minutes. If you like Sicilian deep dish, they have a good one. By the way, for a dollar more, get the large on the regular pizza. I was not sure what to expect from the Neapolitan, having never ordered it before. The crust amazed me! A little crispy on the outside, but well balanced with a decent thickness. It came with plenty of meat and cheese, and it may be the best hand tossed crust pizza I have had in the entire state of Texas. I don’t know what type of oven they have, but it does a nice, crispy, finish without leaving that nasty cracker-crust thing that is not a pizza. Anyway, with an appetizer, a pizza, an entrée, and as $ 5 Unilocal coupon, our bill came to about $ 35 before tip. You can’t beat that on a Saturday night. One thing I would like to see is the return of their Saturday night crooner. I was sad that he was not there.

Been many times since opening week. I haven’t seen the original owners in some time since they opened the other one(s). The folks are kind, the folks serving do a great job. Today my food was not warm but was still good.

Tortellini Bolognese. Oh. My. GAWD! They had to tell me what it was. Saw a guy eating it and MEWANTSTHAT! Bolognese is half red sauce with meat and half Alfredo. Mix it together and 1+1=infinity. It’s magic. With the little cheesy creamy torts. Can I swims in it?! We’re becoming regulars. And I’m so cool with that. Glad I found this dish. Also, I ordered Bolognese on the chicken parm and was having trouble keeping myself together due to tiny taste bud explosions with every bite. MOARPLZ!

We went here for dinner last night and I admit that I almost turned around and went somewhere else when I pulled into the parking lot. Their parking lot is very dark as there is only very little street lighting and nothing overhead in their actual parking lot… Plus the parking lot is on the backside of the restaurant. I saw several homeless people walking on foot and sitting curbside across from the restaurants property and I was concerned for the safety of my car, but I was hungry and took a chance. I figured the high ratings on Unilocal and the several people that I could see through the windows inside the restaurant were good with it, right? Once inside, we were promptly greeted and sat and our waitress quickly came over to get our drink order. I told her we had never been there before and she made several recommendations. She also brought us some bread and holy cow! That bread is seriously amazing! Next time I may just have bread only :) jk I went the safe route and got chicken parmigiana. It also came with a salad(plus the bread). My meal was really delicious. My children, who are 6 and 8 and outrageously picky– and were upset that we were not eating at Olive Garden, were also very pleased with the meals that they got spaghetti and meatballs and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken). They told me that they loved the place and want to come back again! When my picky kids give their stamp of approval, that’s a great thing. The waitress was excellent, the place was clean, the food was tasty, and the ambiance was pleasant. Turns out, no one even broke into my car. Haha! I’ll bump them up to five stars when they get some better parking lot lighting :)

First time into Mamma Mia’s, recommended by a friend that works in the area. The décor looks like what Macaroni Grille tried to copy(that’s a compliment… wait for it), meaning that the exposed brick, the open floor plan and the mirrors, fountain, etc all work to make an urban location feel miles away from Fort Worth. We had lunch, so I went with the Italian sub and my friend had an enormous salad with chicken. Both were excellent and more than enough food for lunch. I’ll be back for dinner where I can indulge a little more in the hearty dishes without danger of falling asleep at my desk.

To sum it up… I’d say the place is slightly below average. At prime time on a Saturday night the place was pretty empty. No worries I thought… it has a pretty good Unilocal review. Sadly as I’ve come to expect from Unilocal reviews in Fort Worth I’m left with little to desire. I went with a house salad and lasagna. The salad with nothing more than some ice berg lettuce two small pieces of onion and one cherry tomato and the ranch dressing was probably the cheapest«ranch» that they could get their hands on. As for the main course I’ll sum it up in one word… bland. Let me count the ways for you. First, the sauce was nothing more than tomatoes. The whole lasagna just tasted liked canned tomatoes. There is no way they used an spices in it. Second, the ground beef was a lower grade ground beef with no fat and no flavor. Third, there was only one layer of noodle. Call me crazy but I expect lasagna to have more than one layer. It was meat, noodle, sauce and cheese. There wasn’t even ricotta in it. I wasn’t expecting fine dining Italian but I was hoping for some good comfort Italian. Sadly this place failed to deliver. Save your time and taste buds.

Slightly above Average. I liked the atmosphere and had high hopes based on other reviews, but service was not great at all. Maybe I caught them on a bad night. The eggplant florentine was ok.

Came here several times when I’m in the area to hang out with a friend and we like to come here for lunch. I like their house dressing on the salad which is this slightly sour red sauce. Their bread is unlimited and great to munch on while waiting for your entrees. I normally order spaghetti with marinara sauce but recently I ordered spaghetti with pesto sauce. The calamari was pretty decent from what I remembered. Overall, decent place to grab some Italian food in this area. There aren’t that many restaurants in the surrounding area so you won’t miss it when trying to find the restaurant.

This place is amazing. This last time the employees seemed rushed which was kind of annoying. The actual restaurant is cold and looks like a factory with concrete floor but the decorations are nice. They have a fountain in the corner and the whole building is nothing but mirrors looking out onto the streets. I’ve only ordered the lasagna because it’s so delicious I can’t bring myself to try anything else. The spicy wings are delicious. They use an oils based sauce that smells more spicy than it really is. Their bread is delicious and they keep them coming if you ask for them. They are big pieces and are always warm/hot when they bring them to the table. I also tried the soup of the day and I can’t remember what it was since the waiter had an accent and I couldn’t understand him. But I just went for it and it was delicious. Will be returning many times for their lunch specials.

Pretty happy! Met some friends here for lunch. We were pretty pleased by both the prices and the food. My lasagna was unique as it was like an individual portion in a small baking dish rather than the usual slice of a larger dish served on a plate. It was fresh and tasty. My friends got meatballs(she liked them) and a calzone. That calzone was enormous, and tasty. We were served free bread to start. The bread was enormous(we could have filled up on it if we’d wanted!) and really good. Very fresh baked and irresistible. Great little restaurant off the beaten path! There aren’t a lot of places in its vicinity that aren’t Asian, so if you’re looking for something different this is a winner.
