This company was hired by the pool company I contracted, Water Wizard, to do my plaster. A month after initial plaster, I had several large cracks in pool bottom, which they came and repaired. The repair did not match the surrounding color, and now it looks like my pool has large scars on the bottom, which will make it hard to sell my home without a complete replaster job. Now a year later, I have another crack in the wall by the tanning ledge, which I’m trying to get the pool company to fix. What a nightmare.

Victor from Manantial Pools Plaster plastered my newly constructed swimming pool on 9÷24÷14. It is supposed to be 60% blue quartz plaster but it looks more like 40% or less. There are large swirl marks in many areas, plaster on my pool light and construction debris stains on the steps. There is also a small hole in the plaster underneath one of my water features. My pool builder was notified upon discovery of each item and in December of 2014 they sent me an e-mail stating Victor would be out to examine my pool but Victor never contacted me. Eventually I contacted Victor directly. In January of 2015 he stated the pool builder never notified him of the problems(though he was carbon copied in the email from December). He told me that he was in the process of getting certified, which means he wasn’t when he plastered my pool. He insisted I had to go through the pool company and that he would not work with me directly, despite being told that the pool company was obviously not helping. He stated he would call them and get back to me but he didn’t. When I tried to contact Victor again he told me he was in an accident and in the hospital and would call me after he got out. He never called and my pool builder has since gone out of business. I know he isn’t in the hospital anymore because I know someone else that has recently had their pool plastered by Victor. Victor never provided any instructions on plaster care. I used the recommendations from the national plasterers council and my water chemistry has been maintained using their guidelines ever since. I have tested the water weekly and maintained calcium hardness between 200 – 250, total alkalinity between 80 – 100 and cyanuric acid between 20 – 40. I also test PH daily and it has never been out of range(7.2−7.8). Less than a year later the plaster is starting to crack. I fear that my pool will need to be re-plastered prematurely despite the meticulous care I have taken of it. His web site claims he stands behind his work, but he hasn’t in my case. As such, I would not recommend using Manantial Pools Plaster.
