This is an okay spot for lunch ya’ll. There are SO many other spots in this same strip as well as across the street that are also slinging sandwiches and salalds. So it’s not really a good spot to break up the monotony. But they do have tasty salads, cute bakery items and a ton of tables. This spot can draw a lot of college kids in the afternoons who are there for the wifi and refills. I usually get my stuff to go regardless. They have tasty macaroons that I can’t say no to!

The restaurant was very cute and had a nice, happy feel. The employees were all very friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Their Caesar salads are amazing and their sandwiches were good as well! I will be going back soon!

Will never ever go here again after going here for so many years. Items were left out of my purchase and I was never able to get them replaced or even compensated for them. When I asked for a refund due to service and the poor quality of the other items the manager stated that I was irrational in my demands and laughed at me She decided to throw in the fact that God protects businesses like hers when it comes to customers like myself and she would be happy to not deal with mean people like me. The only reason I am upset is because she basically stole from me and never replaced my missing items and kept the money I had all ready paid for in the order. She didn’t bother to help me and laughed at me saying I am irrational for my demands in a refund. Horrible service and manager is a hypocrite.

Intimate, nice bakery near downtown Fort Worth! Delicious bakery treats especially the pies and cakes. Decent brunch, overall a good experience. Very friendly staff.

Love love love this restaurant! Both the bakery and kitchen options are superb. I usually get a hot sandwich when I visit as well as something sweet to take home. The food tastes fresh and is delivered in a timely manner. Potato salad is good and I’m usually not a fan of those types of salad. Most of the staff is friendly, but I have gotten a neutral faced cashier on occasion which has been kinda bothersome. My only quip is with the ordering process. When I first visited I was unsure on how to order bakery items(at the register or in front of the display cases) but quickly caught on after watching more seasoned patrons. The frosted sugar cookies as well as the petite four pastries are amazing, and I always make a point to visit McKinley’s with friends who have never been as it has a great selection of food(salads, sandwiches and soups) that we all can enjoy. It’s located in a nice area with a few shopping /eating options, so even if you decide to not eat a main meal here, I would definitely recommend stopping in for something sweet!
The hot chocolate comes from a bag. I get the same hot chocolate for free at my corporate office, but paid $ 1.59 here. The cashier literally rang up my order, walked over to the tea area, poured hot chocolate powder in a cup then obviously hot water. It probably would have been smarter just to make my instant hot chocolate in the kitchen or something. Keep me oblivious to these things, it’s less tacky. Anyway, I glanced in the kitchen and everything is either Campbell’s or something else canned. There is nothing special about this place; the ingredients used are not quality and the dishes produced require little to no talent. Oh I also bought a peppermint cookie. It was dry and the frosting was too sticky(not soft or creamy). I won’t be coming back; I may as well go to a corner bakery instead and eat generic, but better quality food.

I’m not sure how this place stays in business for lunch. Maybe/hopefully the bakery is better. Came on a Tuesday, ordered the chicken salad sandwich with a cup of tomato soup. It took 30 mins to come out, I seriously timed it. Granted they were busy filling to go and bakery orders but all of their stuff is pre made so 30 mins is excessive to me. Not to mention, the soup is literally Campbell’s soup from a can. It wasn’t even hot, served warm. The chicken salad is mediocre. Panera Bread is the way to go. Skip this one if you want a good soup and sandwich. Very disappointed.

McKinley’s is packed at lunch, and for good reason. My wife and I went for lunch today and both got the classic chicken salad plate. It is plenty to fill up a full sized guy like me. A generous portion of moist chicken salad is made with celery and grapes and served with hard boiled egg, carrot slices and fruit with poppyseed dressing. There is also a small lemon poppyseed muffin on the plate. It helps to be patient as you may have to wait for 15 minutes to get your food, but it is worth the long line and the short wait. There is plenty of seating inside and out. While the McKinley’s crowd is 90% women, I did not feel out of place. It is hard to resist their amazing displays of treats. From whole pies and cakes, to small thumbprint cookies, the selection is huge. McKinley’s serves breakfast and also has a nice selection of «to go» items to take home for family lunch or dinner.

A great café and bakery option for when you want to take a break from shopping. Much preferable to the Starbucks. Has great sugar cookies, amazing pecan pie, and seasonal lunch specials.

Tasty sweets, but mediocre food are my impression of McKinley’s. The staff aren’t particularly memorable and the fellow patrons are pretty vanilla, as one might expect in a café adjacent to a Pottery Barn, Vera Bradley, Chili’s, Williams & Sonoma and the like. My husband and I went there one day when I was in the mood for quiche and we wanted to break our routine from the Secret Garden Tearoom down the road. My husband had a sandwich and soup. He didn’t have anything outstanding to say about it, positive or negative. It was store-bought bread and had the toppings he ordered off the menu. The soup we had for our sides was typical pre-made Sysco-type stuff that comes from a plastic pouch and gets heated up in an electric warming pot. My quiche was a pretty bland single-serve tartlet and the crust was more of a bready crust instead of the heavier butter-based quiche crust I prefer. It really seemed like they might get them from the same distributor as Outta The Oven in Irving or Social Bakehouse in Arlington. Meh… BUT — There is a redeeming quality to McKinley’s — their desserts are reeeeeeally tasty. I’ve returned multiple times to enjoy them(you know — product research!). The cakes, cupcakes and cookies are all rich and flavorful and have been fresh every time I’ve ordered them. The pies always look delectable and tempting too, but I’ve never given them a try. I’m a total sucker for iced sugar cookies, and McKinley’s nails it on this! The cookie is a somewhat soft(but not too much) shortbread with a lovely almond flavor to it and the icing is applied at the perfect level — not too thin or crunchy, but not so thick it overpowers the mild flavor of the cookie. They perfectly compliment one another… And for that one reason, I will keep returning to McKinley’s…

Needed a place to wait for our Apple appointment. Just had tea and cookies. Great tea and the cookies were excellent. I really liked the black and white. Two icings on a soft thick cookie. Will come back to try a sandwich.

I’ve been here several times but never reviewed the place. Went today for lunch and had the chicken salad, think it was the orange chicken salad. I also had the soup of the day which was Mexican chicken. Everything was so good and fresh. I was bad, really bad so I did get the pecan bar AND split the key lime pie with my friend. I didn’t write this down on my list today because I’m sure my calorie intake was 5,000…lol. Who cares if was so yummy! See it’s so hard being a foodie and trying to stay fit! The struggle is real Unilocalers.

A really cute and tasty neighborhood bake shop. Go in the afternoon range and you’re likely to see cute kiddos in the after school snack mode, as well as college kids busily tapping away at their laptops. Can only vouch for the sweets. But the decorated cookies are the bomb dot com. Perfect level of softness, which you don’t always get with cute iced cookies like that. Perfect for holidays or TCU spirit. And the chocolate ice box pie is amazeballs. Sometime I’ll have to pair some«real» food with my sweet fix when I come!

Mediocre at best. I remember coming here a few years ago and it was way better. It took 30 minutes for our 2 salads and BLT to come out, which is pretty ridiculous for such bland food. I left feeling pretty annoyed.

If you can translate the hyper-cursive font into a recognizable name, you’ll step into wealthy mediocrity, brought to you by the Joker’s grandmother. All the food is uninventive, flavorless, served cold and unfinishable. My breakfast croissant came on an oily doily. The tomato was thick and underripe, the cheese triangular and unyielding to melting, the sausage warm, soft, fatty and tasteless. Only a sip of coffee was needed to learn I didn’t even want to buy a cup: it was bitter, burnt and tepid. The garish purple throughout barely masked the lazy collage of green kitchen tools.(One small bowl had fallen off.). The flourescent lights and light wood chairs round out this over-hyped cafeteria. People of Dallas-Ft. Worth: move on… there are far better options.

I really enjoyed my lunch. It’s definitely a spot I’d like to visit again to sample other items. I had the turkey pesto sandwich which was really yummy. I also liked the tropical tea, and my cream-cheese brownie was decadent. It was fairly noisy and busy and cramped in certain spots which I didn’t really swoon over.

A good spot for a slice of cake and a coffee. Cruise down the way past the corner Starbucks. I had a huge slice of Italian cream cake and a quick cup of coffee at elevensies before a meeting. Delicious. Friendly staff.

One of the things I miss most about living in Europe is the bakeries! Every corner seemed to have either a locally owned bakery or a privately owned shop or both but it seems I’m limited in Arlington so when we ventured to Ft Worth for a day at the park I stopped at MicKinley’s for some sandwiches and treats and left a very happy girl. The restaurant seemed clean and inviting. I ordered our food to go and of course I had NO will power to walk by the pasty case filled with cupcakes and cookies so I also chose a few to take with me on our park adventure. The turkey pesto sandwich was great and we also split a chicken salad sandwich that I would definitely order again. The cookies were perfectly crunchy and moist. Totally perfect picnic food. Also the coffee was freshly brewed. What’s not to love?
