The guys were nice enough but were not ex military as we were originally told. That would have been fine if they had taken care with my furniture. I walked outside once to see an antique children’s rattan rocker that had belonged to my late mother, tumbling off the truck onto the ground. I picked it up myself and put it in my car and asked them to please be careful, I had several family antiques. When they arrived at our new place I saw my grandmother’s 100 year old cedar chest tumble from someplace in the truck where they had stacked it and a leg was knocked off. Again, I asked them to please be careful. When my dining table and chairs were brought in they had deep scratches and nicks. This piece was newer and had never been moved before and was without a scratch until they moved it. I am still unpacking boxes so I’m afraid of what I may find when I unpack glassware. I thought that I was getting a bargain but should have checked reviews more closely before hiring them. It turned out not to be such a bargain after all.

The movers themselves were very nice but lacked supplies we expected. The site claims they are full service movers and you decide how you need them… having had movers in the past we chose Military Movers because we believed it was a good cause, if you are going to hire, hire veterans! They did not have any packing materials; they only had blankets to cover furniture and wall hangings. I asked ahead of time if they would be able to pack our wall art. They did not have tape, boxes, or any tools to take apart furniture. I blame the company for not having them fully prepared… if you are only offering pick up and delivery, that should be made clear. I think there should be more questions asked and more explanation of service. We were told it should take around 2.5 hours. We expected 4 – 5 hours, including drive time(like I said, we’ve used movers before…) it took 8 hours to move our 1 bedroom. When I called concerned about the time(the movers were nice, but they were far from quick/efficient) I was blamed for having to much stuff… We are not hoarders. We don’t have kids. And we didn’t even have all our stuff packed. I honestly do not believe we had«too much» or more than an average person. It took less time to move us into our 3rd floor apt. Gravity was in their favor! We only had the bed to disassemble/assemble… they didn’t have the tools and we had ours packed! I’m just disappointed. We also were not warned they do not take checks and there is a 3% fee for credit. The cost was double what we planned for and we were helping! This was not what we expected and I’m not sure I can recommend this company. Sidenote — the movers did mention 1 of them was brand new and it was his first day. It is hard to forget that I was paying for training…
