This manager makes things right. I brought pecans in to be shelled, and they were put in the wrong size machine and crushed. He immediately gave me his cracked pecans that were really larger and a better quality than mine had been. Anyone can make a mistake, but a company that goes above and beyond to rectify gets my future business

Free range eggs — NOT! How sad! This is one of the ONLY farm to markets we have in Fort Worth and the staff is extremely uneducated about their food, there was trash on the floor and the layout is awful. When I went down the isle, all of the jars are strewn on the shelves and the onions were falling out onto the counter tops(most had gone bad but the staff didn’t discard them). When I went to the counter to ask about their chicken eggs, the staff didn’t even know anything about the chickens. She couldn’t even remember the farm name, she had to go look it up. I had to call the farm from my personal cell phone to ask about how the chickens are treated. Get this — - the staff claims FREERANGE eggs and they AREN’T! The farm told me the chickens are CAGED but receive sunlight, are grain and vitamin fed, but are not fed growth hormones. I couldn’t believe the staff was so clueless about their eggs! Also, when I went to the refrigerator, quite a few eggs were broken and left in the container. I had to ‘fish’ for eggs to fill my flat. The staff was rude to me when I informed them about their eggs and they weren’t even apologetic when I found out they are saying false information about their eggs.

This is a great place to buy firewood in the fall and winter. So for that alone I am giving them 4 stars. Everywhere else will run out and these dudes still have wood for sale! It’s rather inexpensive compared to the bundles you get at kroger/tom thumb/711. Now as far as produce goes it’s never really been that great. On my last visit I picked up some shrooms and red bell peppers and when I got home I discovered mold in the mushrooms. BUT I do like to get my eggs from here. They come on a huge palate and I usually transport them in my lap for safe keeping. So two thumbs down for crappy produce selection and moldy items but I know I’ll be back for that firewood!

I’ll say 3.5 — 4 stars. The produce looked fresh enough, but the prices weren’t really better than what I’d have to pay at the regular grocery stores. I was excited to see big watermelons at 2 for $ 10, so we got 2 and the young girl who helped us picked them out was very friendly. I was told that they were seedless but upon getting home and cutting one up, that 1st one was not seedless(big black seeds, not the soft white/yellow ones; I haven’t cut the 2nd watermelon). I was a little disappointed that the watermelon was barely sweet, but we’ll see how the 2nd one tastes. Overall, cute little place and I thought the employees were nice.

I really wanted to like this market. It’s too cute from the outside and I was so excited to see what they carried. I’m not suspending judgement but I will try visiting in a few weeks to see if I can add another star or two. For now, the honest truth… The set-up of the market is nice – the front is open as you walk in, giving way to a covered, open floor. There is a little variety in what is sold, from produce to a refrigerated section with milk, eggs, and jars filled with honey, jams, and jellies line the walls. Sounds great, right? Well, not so much. I perused the entire market and I was really surprised that the produce didn’t look as fresh as I thought it would. Mind you, I’m not picky. If a piece of fruit has some bruises on it, no big. But here the only items that looked fresh were some of the smaller tomatoes, the cherries, the watermelon, green onions, and the eggs in the refrigerator. There were peaches that had spots on them, and the onions looked old. The cantaloupe were really dark and spotted, and the oranges looked old and had white marking on the rinds. Most of the produce looked like it was«last-pick» or leftover from a produce bin. I couldn’t believe it. The prices were more expensive than of course your average grocery store. I have no problem paying more, but I am paying for quality. I also saw two gallons of milk in the refrigerator, and one was only filled three quarters of the way up. Odd. After taking a good look at the offerings, I was relieved to get in my car and head on down to Aldi and then to Central Market where the produce was beautifully colored and actually fresh. If I return, which I do plan to to check things out again, I may get a flat(20) of large eggs – costs $ 4.00 which is a good deal for farm fresh eggs.

The strawberries and blackberries that I just got were great! Everything looked picture perfect. Prices are better than the grocery store. If its grown in Texas, the price tag is in the shape of Texas. With that said, I would have liked more local produce, but I understand that pineapples and bananas and other produce isn’t grown here. There are also fridges with eggs, beans and peas, and other things that prefer to be chilled. Would have liked to buy the bell peppers but they looked a little soft. You can find preserves and jarred goods as well as plants here too.

This is one of the best local fresh markets in the Carswell base area. Fresh fruit baskets range from $ 3 and up along with tomatoes, okra, peppers and potaotes. They carry some of the sweetest watermelon when in season that are well worth the 2 for $ 8 price tag. Since my go-to fav Ellis went out of business you can also find the variety of their bags of nuts and such here as well. On this particular day I was on the hunt for some fresh shelled purple hull peas and was disppointed not to find them here. They had plain shelled and purple but not with the hull. Gardening beds of flowers and plants are found at the market as well. If your appetite strikes a never than there’s an open back door to a good little BBQ joint.

It is unfortunate I never came to this farmers market while I was stationed here. Returning back as a visitor, I decided to check it out on a Sunday afternoon. To my surprise you can legitimately find all the vegetables and fruits you could possibly need here. There are a number of preservatives, pickled goods, sauces, and salsa to satisfy anyone’s taste. Besides food items their is some local craft goods sold, plants, and a BBQ restaurant in the back under the name«Cow Town BBQ». I did not have an opportunity to vouch for the BBQ seeing it was not open. However, I enjoyed my experience there and my purchase of fresh cherries, raspberries, and tomatoes. The staff is very friendly and helpful. While the parking lot is adorned with flags of the military branches and the sign«We Support the Troops» are posted, there is no military discount at Rigmar Farmer’s Market.

I was a little disappointed in their selection. The produce was fresh, but the prices weren’t any better than the local grocery store. The staff was not very helpful. I do like that it’s nearly all locally grown, so the extra bucks didn’t bother me that much.
