This place has it all. I moved here from out of town, so I reached out to friends for suggestions for a reasonably priced place to get a simple haircut locally. This place was recommended and I haven’t stopped going since! I love the shampoo before the haircut, always a nice little treat! Stephanie is the gal I go to for haircuts. Super bubbly and usually does a good job (I’ve only ever gotten trims). About $ 33 before tip which includes the shampoo wash.
I recently wanted a nice spa that I could trust for a massage. I didn’t look any further the Shelton’s! Gayle is the massage therapist I made an appt with and it was a wonderful experience! She sat me down, discussed what I was looking for, and then made me feel totally relaxed for the massage. I will definitely be returning to her!

A couple of the people I have had here have been okay. Erica has by far been the best. She gives you exactly what you ask for.

Where do I even start to begin with my traumatic and awful experience here?
I’ll start with the fact that my blonde hair, is now orange.
I went in and asked the stylist, James, for blended blonde highlights. I came out looking like I had tiger stripes in my hair.
The manager must have agreed with me because I was given a full refund, no questions asked. That’s the only good thing I have to say about this place.
Other than the fact that my hair is now orange, it is now severely damaged.
Do not go here and do not see James. Very unsatisfied to say the least.

My experience here was great. I usually get my hair done by someone out of town but was in a time crunch, so checked out reviews and chose to get it done here. I called on Wednesday to see if they can schedule me for a color session asap. They were able to fit me in on 8:30 on Sat.
Sarah was my stylist and she was great. It took a few hours because I was going from blonde to brunette and I have a lot of hair. She never made me feel like she was rushing it and she was very meticulous. It came out great. I also told her exactly what I wanted for my bangs (no picture) and she delivered on the first try. All together, it was $ 95 for my dye and bang trim. Very content with that price.
Overall, I had a great experience. I have to say that one of the reasons I’ll be going back is because of the hair washing facilities. You have the option to sit of lay down. Laying down while she was washing my hair was fabulous and relaxing.

Five stars for one reason only — Rebecca Jo. She is new –I think she said she’d been there about 6 months — but she gave me an excellent cut and blow dry for a fantastic price. She also fit me in last minute after styling my moms hair, which was very much appreciated by me. She was so friendly and cheerful, and easy to talk to. Was very pleased with the end result — my hair looked great !! Earlier in my visit I received a facial from another person and had a horrible experience — she was in a hurry to get out of there (it was approaching closing time on a Saturday afternoon) and so she went so far as to cut my facial down to 45 minutes without even asking me. After I was dressed she informed me that she’d reduced my time due to a septoplasty I had told her I’d had recently. Thing is, that surgery had been a couple months ago and I told her I was completely healed — just needed extra cleansing in that area. I also went a good 8 minutes just laying there in complete silence with her sitting behind me with her back to me — I can only imagine this was because she was on her phone. Most facials I have offer shoulder massage or even scalp massage during those waiting times. Not this girl. She was incredibly lazy and even though I’d asked her about lash tinting before the facial, and she had told me there wouldn’t be enough time, she actually could have taken the extra time out of the 15 minutes she took from me and offered to do my lashes! As I said before, I’m rating five stars for Rebecca and their salon services — but NOT for their spa ! They get NO stars !

Amy rocks! Also great staff! Very attentive, patient and courteous! I have gone here for years and really appreciate the products they use, the service I get and how nice everyone is to me!

I would never ever come back to this awful place. I came here for a bridal party hair appointment. The bride got us all price ranges for her bridesmaids. We were given a range that we thought was incredibly reasonable, even expecting to add in tip.
What actually happened when we got there was a sham. We all worked with our stylists. I have a long hair and went with ⁴⁰⁄₅₀ hair style. The styling took forever, she had no clue what she was doing and I end up with beach waves. I thanked the stylist and walked to the counter. When the receptionist told me the price, my jaw hit the floor. A simple beach wave (no wash, no blowdry, no updo) was $ 60. That was $ 20 more than we were told. I didn’t get what I asked for but I left smiling and looked happy because I didn’t want my bride to know how much I hated my hair… all the bridesmaid left unhappy. We were all shocked. I called and talked to the manager and her respond was to me that I left happy so she can’t do anything about it and she doesn’t want to argue with me. She was absolutely unprofessional. One of the bridesmaid got $ 25 back and the rest left unhappy.
These people have no Idea what they’re doing, even when you show them pictures you still don’t get what you ask.
I would absolutely never ever go back to this salon. Not only The price was high and the manager was absolutely rude. I have nothing against the hair stylist but with 8 years experience you should know your job better.
You guys ruined our day and this is absolutely not acceptable!!! I will never ever come back… ridiculous!!!

GREAT EXPERIENCE! Amy knows her stuff! She was very concerned and amazing with my hair. My hair can be complicated and she did it the BEST I have had in Fort Worth! I know the salons in the area and nothing compares! Plus the shampoo bowls you get to lay down. ;)

The salon staff are not friendly or warm. They have an attitude of «you are lucky to get an appointment and use our services». They are not accommodating to other businesses in the complex, acting as if they are the only business on the block. Regardless of how talented their stylists might be, their attitude and customer service trump the talent.

After moving here from Houston, I was plagued with searching for new hairdressers, and ending up walking out with the same exact (or in one case worse) hair that I walked in with. Monte at Shelton’s finally changed that for me! I always love how she does my layers and she’s great at asking you at each step through the process about how you like the length, etc.
They also did a great job at fixing my horrible home hair dye fiasco that turned my hair jet black instead of auburn

I have always had great experiences here. Misty has done my hair (almost) every time and it always looks great and such a good deal at around $ 30. I also really appreciate that Misty remembers me whenever I come in because I’m often traveling and can sometimes go months and months (or a year) without coming back and every time she acts like it’s only been a week. One time when Misty was off having her baby, Cristal cut my hair and she also did a great job and I got lots of compliments on that cut as well. I’ve also never had a problem getting an appointment here, which is nice.

I’ve been a client of Shelton’s for years; they are the best! Kimberly does amazing hair!!! She’s the best ;). And that review of Tyler is most undeserved; she’s nice, professional and does a great job on my brows!!! Best salon in town!

First of all, WOW Carla, I would really hate to do a bad job with your makeup, because I’m fairly sure that you hit every rating site online to make sure Tyler doesn’t get another client! Seriously… you Google this salon and at least 5 sites have you bashing this poor girl. Not trying to belittle your bad experience — but people out there who have used this Tyler person? Maybe we could get a more well-​rounded view of her if you spoke up also? She could be a beast, but my guess is that she’s not THAT bad…
Ok, now for the salon. I felt it might be worth counteracting some of the negative stuff to say that I’ve had consistently good experiences with Shelton’s. I started going here about 6 years ago and have used Misty (one of the stylists) for the majority of that time. I’ve always been impressed with her cuts. I’m pretty simple in that I don’t do any highlights/​coloring, but I do change up my style a lot and not once has it turned out uneven or misshapen or awkward. My hair is not the most manageable, so I’ve had my share of BAD experiences at other places… Shelton’s hasn’t disappointed me yet.
I feel it’s fairly easy to get an appointment, most of their stylists seem to know what they are doing, and I’m obsessed with their shampoo station with the lay-​down beds. The cuts are affordable, so even when I was a student, I didn’t break the bank trying to get my hair cut. Shelton’s gets my stamp of approval and I’m always happy to recommend them to a friend.

The hairdressers are pretty good, but one of the makeup artists is a nightmarel. This person’s name is Tyler. Unfortunately she lacks talent, skill, and tact. She really made me feel like she didn’t care if I liked it or not and just wanted to get her money and move on to the next person. I had to go home and scrub it off before going to my big event. I had my makeup done at the Laura Mercier makeup counter at Nordstrom’s 2 months previously, and they did a great job, listened, took their time, and it was FREE.
