I enjoy my experience here every time I go. I think the atmosphere is a little dingy but that adds to the charm. We came once with a Groupon and once without. I noticed no difference in service, and I accepted the added gratuity with no complaint because I understand they are just protecting the servers. After all, each table takes around two hours of their time and they need to be compensated. Last visit we upgraded to the complete meal. I wasn’t disappointed by the portions because I know perfectly well that what they serve is more than enough and I will will need to be rolled out the door at the end as it is. First is salad and bread. My salad was the strawberry one. I could have eaten several of those, so very yummy! Now the cheese. We had the garlic cheese and it was delish but a bit strong, wont get that one again. Very creamy and smooth. Plenty of bread and veggies but we made sure to not eat it all, needed to save room. Time for meat. Between the two of us we got to try several beef pieces, shrimp, and chicken. Skip the chicken. The rest is great. I love the stuffed mushrooms and the veggies. Dessert. We actually left before dessert to make a show. They gave us a coupon to return, and we did after the show let out. Service was again great, we were seated quickly, had the peanut butter chocolate and I literally cleaned the pot with my finger. OMG. They offered to bring more fruit but I was too full. This is not a place to go if you are on a time crunch, strict budget, or diet. You pay a lot, yes. For the experience mainly. Lighten up and try it once or twice a year. I have tried Melting Pot for the record and yes, liked it a bit better. However, this location is closer and still a very nice experience. I’m sure we will be back.

I love this place and it is our go to spot for date nights. The martinis are delicious and strong. The food and sauces are always on point as well. I love that the waiters are always so well versed in the menu and know what to do to customize any cheese or chocolate to your exact taste. For instance, we always have extra garlic or spice added to the cheese because we like an extra kick. We have been with and without a groupon. Both experiences are the same. We were so full by the time we had the salad, cheese and meat that we couldn’t have dessert. The waiter was nice enough to write us out a coupon for a free dessert next time! Great ambiance and atmosphere. A+

Went last night for the first time and we were so disappointed! Even though we made a reservation, we had to wait for thirty minutes at the bar to be seated! And it was 7:30 and not packed. We wanted cheese only for our meal. We were brought a tiny bowl of veggies and some bread(this was $ 22 mind you!!). I actually asked if the veggies were for both of us because I though they just forgot to bring mine. I had to take a picture it was so ridiculous. After watching the waiter stumble through the cheese making, I just had enough. We walked down the street to The Cheesecake Factory and it was amazing. So glad we left and we’ll never return!

Such a fun place! Great date night! Waiter was on point and friendly as well as the other staff members. I made a reservation online and it was simple and quick. It’s for sure an experience so plan for at least 1.5 hours. Aha Tuna is THEBEST!!!

Couldn’t even get in the front door. They made us feel unwelcome because we didn’t have a reservation. If the restaurant is ready to open and they need us to wait that’s completely fine. However if they want to make us wait simply because we didn’t make reservation I don’t have time for that.

This was my first time to visit here. The restaurant was in a great location(Sundance Square) and atmosphere was nice. We really enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms, the bacon-wrapped pork, and the teriyaki chicken. We ended our meal with the White Chocolate Amaretto and it was absolutely delicious! Our server, Daniel, was excellent. very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Simply Fondue!

I just wanted to clarify some comments made on the use of the Groupon. I thought it was an excellent deal. How can people complain about the 18% gratuity being added? First of all, our waiter, Eric, told us that if we were not comfortable with that, he would absolutely not add it to our bill. I told him it was fine to leave it on,(and then left him a couple of more bucks.) People act like you’re getting ripped off by them adding the 18% tip, which should be a very average tip for a place like this. The service I had(and saw around me) was excellent. For the cheese course we did a spicy pepper jack. Go easy on that. Lots of breads, and they’ll fill you up with the cheese. I really liked the pretzels and the fruit and veggies, but wish I’d had less of it. We had a caesar salad and a wedge salad. They were kind of «meh.» I think they used b fake bacon bits. But we didn’t really want too much salad anyway. It was fine. We had mostly beef for our 6 meats. Bacon wrapped tenderloin, terriyaki tenderloin, six pepper tenderloin, etc. We didn’t care for the bacon, but the rest was fine. I didn’t use much of the sauces… mostly just a bit of the horseradish. I loved making the stuffed fried mushrooms, and frying my squash and zucchini. The potatoes were great, and whatever those little cheese balls were … yum! I wish I’d saved more room for dessert. We got a milk chocolate caramel pecan fondue. OMG… I am not even that big of a chocolate lover and I’d eat that daily! First we got to roast and then dip marshmallows. We had brownies, rice krispy treats, cookie dough, cinnamon sugar cream cheese, bananas, pineapple, strawberries, etc. I asked for a couple of the big pretzels that they had brought us with the cheese course, which was great. He offered to bring more goodies, but geez… who could have eaten more? It wasn’t the best meal I’ve ever had, but it was pretty darn good, and a nice experience, too. Our waiter was excellent. I would never pay full price here, but thought the groupon was an excellent deal. Also, the lemon drop martinis I had were EXCELLENT and my husband enjoyed his Rahr Oktoberfest draft beers.

Located in the heart of downtown Fort Worth in the historic Woolworth building the Simply Fondue Restaurant brings back that 70s memory and experience from your childhood. I don’t remember my childhood experiences being as adventurous with the various options available today. As I mentioned the Restaurant is located in the basement of the historic Woolworth building and is fully handicap accessible. I remember shopping in this building as a child and loved eating at the old lunch counter. The restaurant offers a full service bar along with a extensive selection of wines to choose from. I noticed a reviewers comments reflecting poorly on the experience of dinning in the basement and I personally could not disagree more. The restaurant offers very quiet, intimate and romantic dinning experience with soft music and candle lit dinning. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable with the history of fondue as well as the various courses and options available on the menu. Being that it has been a long time since we have had the experience of fondue we decided to start with the most popular of each coarse. For starters we each selected the salad of choice, followed by the sharp cheddar cheese fondue, then selected the 3 meats of choice. I selected the wedge salad which was honestly one of the best wedge salads I have had in a longtime. Followed by the sharp cheddar cheese fondue which was served with a selection of fruits, vegetables and homemade bread. For my selection of meats I picked the beef, shrimp, and chickens wrapped in bacon. All were excellent. For the final round I selected the Raspberry and chocolate fondue. Served with a selection of fruits, and various sweets to dip was by far my favorite. Overall, I highly recommend you take the opportunity to get back to your childhood and experience the modern day fondue. Great for a romantic evening or a party of 4 friends.

I would not recommend this location at all. To begin with, the location is in a basement and it very much feels it. The décor looks like no effort was placed on it at all. The bathrooms looked run down. The food was, at best, mediocre. The cheese was the only part I had no issues with. The salads were served at the same time and were just ok. The main course came with meat, portions typical to other fondue places. Vegetables? 6THIN slices of potato and squash for two people. The dessert was terribly presented. The waitress put too much alcohol in the chocolate and we were desperately trying to blow it out as it would have burned it completely. The plate of items to dip were beyond pathetic. They looked like someone literally threw it on the plate. Canned pineapple, 3 old looking marshmallows. 2 thin slices of banana, etc. In short, this meal will cost you $ 120.00 for two people. This includes tax and gratuity. It is ABSOLUTELY not worth this. Go to Melting Pot for fondue. The price is the same but at least the food quality is far better as is the atmosphere.

The food was amazing as was the service. We were served by Andrew who was very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the best foods after listening to our preferences. His advice did not disappoint. When my husband and I could not decide on choosing a spicy cheese or aged cheddar, Andrew gave us his personal favorite of Spicy Jack and mixed it with the perfect amount of spices to give it a kick without it setting my mouth on fire because I’m a big wuss. He took extra time to answer any questions we had even after he had already given us detailed instructions and we were too cheese drunk to remember what he had said. Here is what we ordered: Cheese: Spicy Jack –served with vegetables and breads Salad: We had Bacon Wedge and Caesar and split them. Proteins: each of us chose three. We had bacon wrapped tenderloin, teriyaki tenderloin, six peppered tenderloin(fav!), bacon wrapped chicken, bacon wrapped pork and ahi tuna. Chocolate: Kahlua Heath.(HFS!) served with fruits and other dipping sweets. For cocktails I enjoyed a couple of their Sextinis(vodka, malibu, peach schnapps, cranberry & pineapple juices) and my husband had the Beefeater(gin) Martini. We also had a glass of champagne each(don’t know what kind but it was tasty). All in all, eating out for us is so much more than just tasty food. It’s all about the experience. The ambience of the restaurant is intimate and the music was amazing! Their station/playlist had songs that kept me singing throughout dinner(even before the Sextinis). It’s located in the Woolworth building in Sundance Square and has complimentary valet on Main St. at 4th St. Dress code is business casual but husband wore jeans, polo and loafers and I had jeans, blouse and heels; neither of us felt underdressed. One more thing. I don’t recommend taking young children there. First of all, I’ve raised 3(all teenagers now) and enjoy a peaceful night out. Most importantly though, tables are stoves with hot metal cauldrons sitting on them at all times. Even the best and most attentive parents can take their eyes off for a second and their child get burned. Also, you already have to cook your own food, why turn a night out into having to cook for your children too? That defeats the purpose in my opinion. A+++ for food, drink, and service.

Tried this for the first time last night and was not disappointed. We had the Wisconsin sharp cheddar and the Mediterranean cheese fondues. Both were excellent. For the main course we had a variety of meats and sea foods. Our server extraordinaire had our coconut shrimp crisp fried in the back for us and they were awesome. The scallops were my favorite in the Cajun spicy broth. We also had several bacon wrapped items so we also had the hot skillet with oil. The spinach strawberry salad had very nice vinaigrette and my husband’s bacon wedge looked pretty tasty. For dessert we had the white chocolate amaretto and the original milk chocolate. Both were very tasty. We shared a Bottle of Chardonnay and had a couple of the signature house drinks that were ok. Truly our server Micah was the best ever. Will definitely ask for him next time. Overall great food, TOPNOTCH service and great ambience.

Take it easy on the cheese fondue if you’re doing the 4 course dinner. Or, don’t, and share with me the misery I felt, too full for words. We got a travelzoo coupon and having never indulged in a full fondue experience, I thought it would be a great way to give it a whirl. Your pick of cheese fondue, salads, meat round and then dessert. I think I started the night famished and ready to eat, and indulged a bit too much in the cheese course. I mean, warm and melty cheese, what’s not to love? Well, I’ll tell you! That cheese will hit you like a gut bomb, about midway through the meat course. I grew more and more uncomfortable, and my plans to stroll around Sundance were immediately banished with the need to return to the car and unzip my dress. Is this real life? It truly is, my friends. Some of the photos posted look like meager portions, which I do not feel I experienced. The only time I felt that the portion was small, was when we were brought«more» dessert dippers. It was a sad and lonely 2 or 3 pieces on a plate. Granted, knowing that the average person is probably stuffed to the gills, I can’t blame them. Our server was beyond awkward, but I felt like she was really trying to interact with us, just none of it came off smooth or natural. The busboy assigned to our table was totally new, as he later admitted, when he grabbed my plate without securing any of the utensils near it, and nearly flung the fondue stick towards me. The restaurant is underground level, and it definitely had a basement type feel to it, but it wasn’t off putting. I’d give it a go as something different to do.

This place has been on my list to visit for a few months now, and I was very excited to go with a good friend. We went to the location in Sundance Square, you need a reservation on weekends because they are so booked. The ambiance is very nice and the service is wonderful, which is why I gave it two stars. The food however, did not meet my expectations. I was not at all impressed with the food, and did not feel like it was worth the price. The dishes were simple and I did not feel the portions matched the price. I left feeling very disappointed. Will not be going back here again.

The fondue experience won’t disappoint, it makes for a fun date night. The food was just ok. Where my issue comes in with this restaurant is the Groupon tipping expectation. The waiters ask up front if you have a Groupon, therefore they know they’ll be getting a $ 20+ no matter how good or bad the service is. We didn’t have the worst service ever, but it was by far the best and didn’t warrant the high tip that was required. I’m all about leaving a nice tip, but not when the service isn’t deserving of it. If you’re going to purchase a Groupon, please realize that you really aren’t getting a «deal» because they’ll make up for it in required tip and tax — not to mention you can guarantee the waiter knows his tip is set no matter how good or bad he is.

Good solid 4 stars. This was our first visit to Simply Fondue and it made for a really great date. Our waitress explained everything very well and the atmosphere was relaxed. Typical fondue experience, starting with cheese and bread/veg. Then came salads, followed by 3 chunks of your 3 ordered meats. Plenty if you ask me. We used the traditional oil cooking style and it was great, cooked all the meats well. Dessert was of course the best. My only reason for 4, not 5 stars, is 1. I think it would be nice to offer«blotting papers» or paper towels/napkins with the meat. I(and probably other people) definitely would have loved to gently blot off the excess oil once the meats were done cooking-or at least given the option to. It made for a messy plate. It didn’t feel right to stick my cooked meat on cloth napkins… 2. There was a lot of chocolate leftover in the pot once our dippers were gone. We only learned after we had paid and the table cleaned off that we were allowed to ask for more of certain items to use up the chocolate without extra cost. Great experience, don’t believe the bad reviews – people just don’t know what to expect out of fondue. Definitely will be returning.

One word, AMAZING! Be sure to see if there is a Groupon available, it’s such a great deal! $ 59 for 2 and a 4 course meal, you will be so full so pace yourself! You start with your choice of salad, then you get to pick the first appetizer cheese fondue, get the Mediterranean one its so good! After, you pick the meat/seafood and then you get the dessert! The dessert is literally the best part of the whole thing! They even say that you can go in and just order that alone. When we first decided to go here, we made a reservation via Open Table, and that was really convenient. Arriving we waited about 10 – 15 minutes for our table and had drinks at the bar, Matt the bartender was great, and really had great customer service skills! Our waiter Caleb was also awesome, and so knowledgable about everything and since it was my fiancé’s first time there he really explained how to do everything. This is a really great date place and dimly lit so it’s a romantic evening if that’s what you are looking for! I def want to go back!

We feel very ripped off here. i started off with 3 stars, as I wrote my review, the stars became a black hole and died. We really hoped this place would be better than The Melting Pot or at least same level. And to us the melting pot was already«eh» — too expensive for extremely simple plates. We saw this on groupon and thought it was a decent deal. $ 40 on groupon, then they tag on $ 27 for tax and grat. Really??? so for $ 67 — we got measly plates of meat and dessert pickings. At least at melting pot, they gave us more meat since my husband didn’t want a salad and they had no soup to offer. Here they said nope. If you don’t want a salad, nothing they would do about it. Which I ate two salads. The bacon wedge– too much dressing and just okay. Ingredients were lacking. And the bacon bits tasted like the fake stuff in the package. Even the wedge of lettuce was small. I looked around at other tables and saw bigger portioned sized salad. Cesar — too sour. Melting pot’s was unique and delightful. Most of the meats were not seasoned and very small pieces. I remember at MP being impressed with the meats, it’s freshness, and size and amount we got. Here — BIG let down. Dessert — the pic i posted up is before we ate anything off the platter. Literally I skewered one marshmallow and then paused to take a picture. The platter of fruits/cake looked half eaten or someone’s leftover. Cheese fondue– Mediterranean. Another unimpressive dish. Our waiter was nice and all, but boy did he make a mess. He was so busy talking he forgot ingredients for our fondue. Cheese was flung all over the table and spilling over as he mixed. The cheese remained clumpy and grainy. It never achieved that smooth creamy texture I was impressed with at MP that I wanted to go home and try it myself. The fondue tasted bland. And the bowls of bread and veggies, the LEAST impressive presentation I’ve ever seen brought out. Literally, just throw some fruits/veggie in one bowl, bread in the other and call it a day. I don’t have nice dishes at home but I can at least make a better presentation and plating. So the ending: I think when they heard we had a groupon, they just gave us peoples leftovers. Cause that’s what it looked like. Like they gave us smaller portions than others around us and some of those portions looked near expired or from the bottom of the barrel. We wanted to see if we just didn’t care for fondues. But this place set us wayyyy back to where we would gladly go back to MP– and I gave that place a 3 star. We also used a groupon there, but received fresh, good quality and plentiful ingredients even though the waitress was terrible there. Oh another thing I noticed here. When someone took our pot full of hot oil away, she did not use a contraption to cover the pot like we saw at MP. What if, as she rounded the corner, a customer or employee happen to come around and bumped into her. Both would get scalded by the hot oil! It’s just not safe precautions here. Our waiter even admitted a new hire had set the oil way too hot(like 3−5x it’s maximum temperature) and it splattered and scalded the customers at the table. How are they training these waiters!!! It seems hazardous here!!!

Went to Reata hotel rooftop bar for drinks. Drinks sucked and were overpriced so I went here after a friend recommended the place. Heard they had a great bartender, name: Matt. He was awesome! Probably one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had. Makes delicious drinks, he’s friendly and the drinks aren’t overpriced. Didn’t try the food, sat at the bar and drank the pickle martini and some other magical concoction I asked Matt to surprise me with. They were delish :-)

This is a great place to bring a date or a romantic dinner! I initially thought it wouldn’t fill me up but OMG it was amazing. I ordered the Chef Special 4/course meal which is about $ 45. Wasn’t a huge fan of the aged cheese I ordered but everything else was fine. If you’re really hungry and don’t feel like cooking your own food the whole time, don’t go. It’s all about frying your own meat when it comes to finally eating dinner. I really loved the chocolate smores they were great! Really enjoyed this place!
