This was the worst dental experience I had ever had. When I first walked in and noticed how filthy the ground was, I should have immediately left… but I decided not to judge a book by its cover. I mean, hey, a dentist works here. It should be okay, right? The secretary that worked there wasn’t mean… but she wasn’t nice either. This place is called SMILEY dental… shouldn’t I be seeing some smiles? She looked disgruntled and shuffled me into the back with a dental assistant. The dental assistant was kind, but he barely knew how to work the x-ray machines and was touching everything I was supposed to have my mouth on with his bare hands. Gross. I sat in the dental chair, and stared at the bleak walls with cheap Cars stickers on it. Some were peeling off the wall and there were dirty, black marks all over the walls as well. No television to watch, nothing. Just me and the wall. The dentist was good however. She was very thorough and was explaining everything to me and her dental assistant. Now, I’m all about education, but he had no idea even what number tooth she was on and talking about. I don’t think he knew what a filling was, to be honest. She was gentle and sweet, talked about my options and gave me two fillings. 1 star for her. When I was finished, a lady I had not seen before threw some papers at me, asked me to sign them, and told me I would be getting a free whitening tray. Cool! And they can do it right after my treatment. After waiting forever, they finally came around to take impressions for my whitening tray because there was only ONE person there that knew how to take impressions of my teeth. Really? She loaded up the dang things with all of the paste in the world and shoved it in my mouth, expecting me not to choke on it or spill out of my mouth. She was chatting away with the dental assistant this whole time in Spanish with her hands in my mouth. When she was done with the impressions, I thanked her anyway for her time. When I left, I got to my car and pulled down my mirror. White paste was all over my face and nose… really? You let me walk out of there like that? You couldn’t throw me a napkin and say I had stuff all over my face? Anyway, my whitening retainers would be done next week and I would pick them up and never look back. So next week I come, and my retainers have messed up… apparently. Too many bubbles the first time? So I have to do the thing all over again and come back the next day to pick up my retainers. Let’s just say I won’t be coming back next year. Next time I’ll trust my instincts and get out when I see the first red flag. Oh yeah, and no one introduced themselves to me except my dentist. Manners anyone?
