I finally came for their lunch special after many months of talking about it. I originally ate here last year(where I ordered the nabeyaki udon — highly recommend it!) and noticed the $ 12.95 sashimi lunch special thinking I had to come back. It did not disappoint. You get three slices each of yellowtail, escolar, tuna, and salmon along with some rice, miso soup, and ginger salad. The fish itself was fresh and quite tasty. My only wish was that the slices were a bit larger but I guess if you’re paying close to $ 1/piece you can’t be too picky. I also got a side of agedashi tofu which was delicious as well — silky tofu on the inside, crispy outside that soaked up the broth well. Will definitely be coming back here for more sushi and the sort!

I know so little about Sushi I am not sure I deserve and opinion. Let me tell about a novice’s experience. I am very familiar with other Japanese dishes such a Sukiyaki, Teriyaki, and Tempura thanks to several Japanese friends I knew before the Sushi craze. I wandered in on a lark at lunch since I was in an adventurous mood. Very little on the menu was familiar and it all seemed expensive so I confessed my ignorance to the waiter. He was very considerate and helpful and after some discussion I chose the Spicy Tuna Role. I enjoyed it very much. The restaurant is quite lovely, the staff very friendly and the atmosphere blessedly quite and I thought the food was great. The prices seemed high but I understand that is normal for this type of food. I will leave it to those with experience to judge the quality of the sushi but I can assure you, it is a great place to start.

Sushi Tao has been our favorite sushi spot in Fort Worth for years! The chicken fried rice cannot be beat; just ask my husband. When they see us walk in the door they automatically ring up two orders! Yes, this spot is tucked away in a shopping center(next to Palm Beach Tan). If you’re wanting to be seen on the«scene» in FW, this is probably not the best choice for you. But the quiet, intimate atmosphere and easy parking makes for an easy lunch or great date night. Favorite rolls are Super Dragon and Sweetheart.

Chicken teriyaki is the worst I think I have had. Was not marinated or grilled. Tasted like boiled chicken with some sauce on top. The sushi was ok though

Overall, I like this place. I went here for a late lunch to go. I ordered the ahi tuna tower and miso soup. I loved the miso soup from here, very flavorful. The ahi tuna tower was just ok, not bad at all, but not the best I’ve had. Unlike a lot of sushi places, this place tops their tuna tower with crispy rice noodle pieces. Though that did add a crunch factor, idk if I liked it or not… I felt like the crisp pieces were there to add volume to the food(I didn’t get as much tuna). Also, the tuna they used was pretty finely ground and I think they added something to it since the tuna had a strange orange-ish color. I also only got a little bit of fish eggs as well. Food 3⁄5 The atmosphere of the restaurant seemed really calm and almost intimate/romantic. Definitely didn’t seem like a place to come and do saki bombs every weekend. The hostess was so nice and attentive. I like this place. Will come back and try other things! 4⁄5 for atmosphere and service

One of my favorite sushi places to go! A small but nice little sushi restaurant, that has really fresh fish for an incredibly reasonable price! Joy and Susie are an absolute delight to be waited on by! They are so sweet and suggest the best items to try. One major thing you must try is the Uni Shooter! It was so AMAZING! Check out the picture I posted of it, it has a burst of flavor right as you shoot it, and the quail egg adds a nice finish! My favorite time to go here is during the week or for lunch, just because it’s slower and you get the best service! Now that I live close to this sushi place again I will definitely be coming back!

This is my husband and I’s favorite restaurant. We love these people dearly; they treat us like family. The food is delicious every time. We have an 18 month old son and a 4 month old daughter, and they really believe in the old mantra«it takes a village». It is a family friendly restaurant, which has become ever more necessary for us lately. I usually get sushi(avocado eel roll, spicy salmon roll), but I have also gotten their unagi plate and the yaki udon dish which are both very tasty. My husband always gets the udon noodle soup which never disappoints. We were talked into getting the Ahi Tower a couple of years ago, and that has also become a favorite of ours. Their grilled eggplant is a delicious starter.

Everything I’ve ever ordered here has been super tasty! I come with my friend for lunch and we usually order the bento box. The chicken skewers appetizer is delicious along with the vegetable tempura appetizer. The miso soup is really flavorful as well.

We went in Saturday night aka date night. So I was a little concern since we have my nephew who a terrible two. But the place was clean and spacious. He had space to move around and was very happy. The owner give him oranges while we wait for our sushi. We ordered sushi dinner w/miso soup. It was delicious. Tempura Udon was tasty perfect for hangover. We also order sweetheart and tiger rolls. Both sushi was made perfect and we had hot sake with it. Decent prices for great experience and friendly staff.

The lunch menu is very reasonable. My husband and I go there frequently, splitting the 2-roll lunch(which comes with miso soup and a salad) and we get out for under $ 15. The food is delicious: perfectly seasoned rice and fresh fish make for good sushi every time. Real dashi is used for the miso soup rather than canned stock or water. You can taste the difference!

This place is a hidden jem when it comes to eating out in general, and sushi specifically. This is a family owned and operated restaurant, on any night you can meet both or one of the owners, Jason and Joy. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and can tell you I’m always glad I came.(When I was struggling with food allergies I would come 1 – 2 times a week because they knew my allergies and guided me in my food selection). The staff, atmosphere, service and sushi are top notch and the price is more than fair. If you’re looking for the best sushi come here, you won’t be disappointed.

Sushi Tao is a restaurant tucked away in a strip center off of Overton Ridge. It never is busy so expect to have the restaurant to yourself. They have a big sushi menu with some entrees like teriyaki. I wasn’t really hungry when my husband got off work and wanted to go out to eat so I got miso soup and a salad. It was okay. He got a soup. Udon noodle soup with shrimp. I didn’t care for it, but he enjoyed it. The sushi was decent. We got the super dragon roll. It wasn’t bad and presentation was pretty.

We have been patrons of Sushi Tao since college, which was, ahem, several years ago. No matter where we live in the metroplex, we are very willing to make special trip to eat Sushi Tao. Now for the specifics: the super dragon roll is, hands down, our favorite followed closely by the TCU roll. They also have fantastic dessert… try the ice cream(any flavor)…you won’t regret it(unless you’re lactose intolerant). They have a wide variety of beer, wine, and of course, sake. Their prices are pretty comparable to other sushi joints in the metroplex. The service has always been spectacular. Most of the wait staff know us by our order(super dragon and TCU roll)…not sure if that’s something to be proud of but it definitely speaks to the quality of service.

This place is great! My sister and I always eat sushi when we hang out and this is our go to spot. The fish is fresh and delicious! The service is fast and friendly and they’re always giving you suggestions on what to try. For the first time ever, I tried a sea urchin shooter! It was a little different but our server appreciated that I went out of my comfort zone. A really great place, you must go!

We dined here one night because of a friend’s recommendation; my boyfriend and I didn’t particularly like it, although I’m extremely picky about Japanese food. It’s a very generic asian fusion restaurant, which I figured from the name but it definitely didn’t exceed any expectations I had. Meh, there are so many better places to eat than this(idk about Ft Worth but def in Dallas).

Restaurant is good, big place and great for groups tables are easily move to accommodate. Great selection on alcohol from domestic to Japanese’s wines, beers, to non-alcohol sodas and different kinds of teas. For food you can start with appetizers, soup, salads, sushi, rolls, even vegetable rolls, sashimi, udon soup and much much more combinations also. I had ask for a to go menu and was told to go thru their website. - For me, tried the plum wine which was different special since my wine came with ice. Wine and ice not a good mix, right?- It was sweet, at times tasted like cough syrup and sweet again. But did order another one And ordered the Tao sushi, since that’s the name of the place. It was very good, waiter kept checking on me if I wanted anything else which was great + I wanted to try something else but couldn’t decided. So called it an evening. Décor was ok. But great places for friends and/or get together would order their sushi and sashimi boat, mixed for sharing.

I’m a frequent customer just because I live 5 minutes away. There’s not much to say about this place. It’s your typical sushi restaurant. Not many of their rolls stand out to me but their sashimi/nigiri is decent– not the best but not horrible either. Customer service is always friendly and their food comes out in a timely manner. They do have a full bar and the ambience is nice at night. I do have one complaint. Do not try their mochi. It is dry and too pricey.
