TCU – Texas Christian University

Even though I did not attend TCU (I should have), I have always LOVED their campus and the people there. I have lived in Ft Worth most of my life and have a lot of friends that attended this school and loved it.
My daughter is attending a summer reading program here, and we stroll around the campus grounds after her class and just talk. It’s so pretty.

Beautiful campus, really reminds me of my alma mater. Since moving here I have become a big fan of their sports teams, so most of my experience is from game days.

The bad rep that their «rival», also the «better school» (honestly) gets in SMU is probably more true for TCU
It’s pretty racist at TCU honestly. Lack of diversity, work ethic, there were TWO, yes… TWO RAPES… the first week i had classes when i came here.

Love Texas Christian University! Use to attend here years ago. Love all my professors. Immaculate college. Missed my classmates alot, but I’m sure they’re all doctors & lawyers now with kids and ex-​spouse lol. I highly recommend TCU to your kids who’s thinking about college!

Funny how magically all of the negative reviews are not «recommended». I spent a lot of money having a horrible experience (attempted suicide twice at that school) and I dont appreciate that being invalidated. I thought Unilocal was a place where one could speak the truth and businesses could do nothing to remove it. More lies I guess

TCU is an excellent university with a rich history in both Fort Worth and Texas in general. While high school was a blast, my time spent at TCU was truly the best time of my life. I was challenged academically by my professors and classmates and I was exposed to people from different backgrounds. TCU focuses on creating worldly citizens of its students and that is evident by the vast opportunities available for students to study abroad. While a student at TCU I traveled to Spain, England, Sweden, Argentina, and Denmark. Those experiences have greatly enhanced my knowledge of other cultures and provided me with great experiences that have translated into a greater worldview as a history teacher.
Another thing that sets TCU apart is the first year experience, also known as FYE. As an incoming freshman, I reluctantly signed up to go to Frog Camp. I wanted to cancel my reservation and just wing it but Frog Camp (a camp for incoming freshmen) was the best experience I could have ever had before starting college. I met people I am friends with to this day and I was so inspired that I ended up joining Frog Camp as a student facilitator the following three summers of my college years.
Is TCU a perfect university? No. But did it deserve some of the comments listed below? No. It’s a private university with a private school price tag, so unfortunately it’s going to have a student population with many entitled individuals without a clue of what the real world is like. But do you go to college to join a Greek letter organization and make friends or do you go to college with the end goal of earning a degree?
Anyone who wants to go to TCU needs to understand the culture of TCU, which is predominantly white and very dominantly ruled by Greek organizations, regardless of race. But TCU is so much more than Greek life. It’s Riff Ram, the alma mater, the late night breakfast with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, Frog Camp, study abroad, dorm life, the Main (for anyone who attended TCU prior to 2008), homecoming, football games, and purple. If you have a good head on your shoulders, are looking for a great education, and don’t get caught up in all the Greek drama, then TCU is the school for you. Go Frogs!

This review is from a recent conference that I attended in July. This is one of the cleanest campuses I’ve ever visited. I’ve visited OSU and WU and mainly in California. The whole campus was absolutely gorgeous. The swimming pool and the gym was really well kept. You need a pass in order to get in, so you can rest assured that it’s safe. Knowing how hot Texas is, you can actually do most of your activities in the gym. There is an indoor track and treadmills. The dorms room are big in my opinion. TCU’s colors are purple and white, so don’t be surprise if everything you see from the road signs to the chairs to the carpet is all purple.

Home of Andy Dalton (I’m a Cincinnati Bengals fan) and the Horned Frogs. I have to say, love mascot, the statute and the color. Fear The Frog!

As a 1984 graduate, I LOVE the personal relationships that students can have with their professors.
Perhaps the downside of TCU is a lack of diversity.

TCU has one of the nicest campuses I have ever seen.
I visited TCU because one of my friends is an alumni. Walking through campus I was thoroughly impressed by the brick façade throughout campus. The type of brick is unique to TCU, and it really gives the campus character and charm.
This is definitely somewhere I could see myself spending four years of my life.

Wow, Colin. If I had anything bad to say about TCU, it’d just be that their parking sucks. Yes, I attended (and graduated from) TCU, so I’m a bit biased. But, I definitely wouldn’t have anything bad to say about my education.
Diverse degree programs, nationally ranked business school, newly renovated dorms, classrooms and stadium… it’s what a BIG XII university is all about. GO Frogs!

This is really a review of the concert that I went to last night. Ed Landreth Auditorium put on a terrific concert with Sharon Isbin and Mark O’Connor.
It was a bit chaotic — big hall, delayed entry. Once the concert got started it was amazing.
Parking was a zoo.
Did I say great music???

There are a thousand things you can say about the college you went to, from the education you received to the good times you had.
For now I will say it was a-​okay mainly because I paid 5x more than state tuition and I am not earning 5x as much as those that went to a state school. So, was it worth it? Probably not. Did I have a great time? Yep.
Great mascot, awesome football team, really good education (I suppose), close minded naïve students.
