This is our second time here. The first was a year ago and had a great time. This time was a little different from the first… I was going to propose to my girlfriend. I talked back and forth with the management at The Live Oak and they were very helpful. Then I talked with the musician(Robbie Foulks) who was playing that night. He’s a songwriter and said he would write a song and call us up on stage. So the things we like about Live Oak is that is has something for everyone. The music hall is comfortable and always has great music. There’s a bar downstairs and one on the roof. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Drinks are not over priced and food is ALWAYS great! I had the turkey burger that comes with jack cheese and fresh avocado. Amazing! It also comes with homemade chips that are out of this world. My girlfriend(well now I have to call her my fiancé …) had the quesadilla which was equally good. She stole some of my chips because they’re so good. Beers on tap are really good also. This place is a class act! We will be back again and again. …and she said yes!

Absolutely beautiful stage and great sound! This is the type of place that makes a Dallasite very jealous of our neighboring city out west. The upper patio was comfortable and had a nice view. The staff were all very cool. I can think of no other small venue in the same league as Live Oak. Can’t wait to go back to this awesome neighborhood!

This is my favorite venue in Fort Worth to watch singer songwriters perform! The food and drinks are pretty good too! Happy hour on the rooftop always has a great view of the city skyline with beautiful Texas sunsets. Love this place!

Such a pretty patio, but my friend said it best«Sitting downstairs at Live Oaks is like 3rd class on the Titanic«haha and it’s very true! I went on a Friday night about 9:30 and the patio was FULL! We were friendly and made friends with a couple that let us sit with them! The guy singing was great! Not too loud! Our beers were ice cold and came out super fast!

This review is about the music hall as my girlfriend and I saw Peter Bradley Adams last night here. I really loved the setup, it was likely the most intimate concert I have ever been to. Everyone had seats with tables where you could order drinks which was a plus. My girlfriend and I sat next to each other enjoying the peaceful show and definitely made for a very romantic evening!

I really enjoy the atmosphere of this place especially the roof top. But over an hour wait for service is a bit much.

Live Oak, I’ve said some harsh things. Things said in the moment out of frustration that maybe I didn’t mean. Things that I probably can never take back. It’s not that I didn’t love you baby, I just wanted you to change! And you did. It took a while, and a few different tries, but you did. I’ve been stopping in a bit more, and it has actually shown some pretty decent improvement. They’ve definitely pared down their beer selection since the glory days of having one of the best curated tap selections in town, but it’s been that way for a while. Seems like they’ve actually started to book some decent music through there instead of just leaving some dude on their patio with an acoustic guitar and expecting people to pile in(which by itself isn’t a problem… there are some talented folks around town but mixing it up is always good, especially when you have that amazing sound system just sitting there in the music hall, begging to be used.). Service, while it used to be just infuriating and absolutely just the worst always, has actually been pretty good the last few times I’ve gone in. I’ve actually even noticed a few people sticking around instead of management not doing anything at all about what had to be the worst staff turnover I’d ever seen. Baby steps, but it seems to be improving. They also had .50c beer one night(I think it was Wednesday — Miller Lite and Modelo). I am not a huge fan of either, but after getting one IPA for $ 8 plus tip(.could have had 16 of those babies for that!) I just decided to swallow my pride, shut up and drink the cheap stuff. I mean, that’s a heck of a deal, and I guess my standards do have a price limit after all. Anyhow, glad to see things getting better.

Nice place with great ambiance. The rooftop bar is the best — great views and live music. The food is very good! In particular, the chorizo chili dip with house made potato chips is amazing!(Note — they also have a kids menu, but it’s not on the menu, you just have to ask.) There’s a nice beer selection and decent prices. I haven’t been in/to the music hall, so I can’t say anything about that. I just like this place to hang out on the roof!

Great sky bar upstairs with a full bar where my date and I enjoyed a mac n cheese burger, beer and bacon dip with homemade chips, and a club sandwich with a salad. Small bar downstairs with an auditorium in the back for live music. I recommend this joint for a great view of the south side of downtown Ftw.

They advertise the music room as a listening room, it isn’t, unless you enjoy hearing a loud din of conversation when you are trying to hear the artist. The artist is upset and it’s a total waste of money. An acoustic artist doesn’t stand a chance. My only choice to purchase tickets was a table for 4 or standing. Pricey for two. On the positive side, the snacks are good and the service was good. We buy tickets to hear and respect artists, we won’t be back.

Quick look rating: 5⁄5 Craft Beers, 5⁄5 Brew Variation, 4⁄5 Service, 5⁄5 Experience Love the roof top! I came here waiting on a Unilocal event to start. I had an hour to kill before the event. I had heard some music and silly me, I finally figured out the music was coming from this roof top! I did not get to try any of their food, due to a Unilocal event was about to happen shortly. I’m sorry I did not get these two guy’s name. They were on point and behind them the sunset. And no this is not broken back mountain, it was very cool and relaxing! Fun place to relax! Find your way to the roof top! Hopefully they will have some live music. This place is on my radar to return!

The dark, relaxing ambiance and the promise of burgers drew my friend and me in on a Wednesday afternoon. It was slow, so the food came out pretty quickly, and the staff was nice and attentive. We started off with the bacon-wrapped cheese jalapenos and ranch, which hit the spot with the«this is bad for you, but in the best way possible» feeling. For entrees, I had the turkey burger and he had the classic Live Oak Burger. We agreed that the turkey was a winner. It was leaner, but not dry. The swiss cheese and slices of avocado complimented the burger perfectly. You have the option of either a side salad or house chips. Definitely go with the chips. They come out hot, freshly fried. The food was pretty good, and we had a good experience. We’ll be back another evening for the rooftop patio and live music.

This place has grown on me over the last year or so. When it first opened I would have rated this a solid one. Service was slow, food was ho-hum and the drink selection was abysmal. No more! The rooftop patio is the perfect post-work relaxation space, especially now that they’ve added umbrellas to the tables. The new menu is a good change, though the lack of french fries is somewhat disappointing. In the mood for brunch? Check this place out. The menu is limited and nothing fancy, but it’s good and the mimosas, while not bottomless, are respectable. In for some music, cabaret or other live acts? The music hall is one of the best places in fort worth for catching a great sounding show. The space was clearly designed for acoustics and perspective and in both of these areas they succeeded. There’s no bad seat in the house and the quality of entertainment that the Live Oak brings in is impressive. With the addition of frozen drinks their alcohol selection has gotten better, but there is still room for improvement. While there is a select number of craft brews on tap, the list still seems limited and somewhat stagnant for a venue of this size. That said, if this place continues to improve the way it has I will eventually be forced to rate this five stars instead of four.

I want to thank everyone at Live Oak last night for being simply amazing with our sons graduation party. This was the first time we had ever been here and chose it because they have an awesome rooftop patio with live music, with lots of twinkle lights. But let me go on to tell everyone the staff here are down to earth unbelievable people! They’re just so cool! The food is great and reasonably priced for our large group! There is a full bar upstairs so you can walk right up and get a drink, but you don’t need to because service is that good! I just cannot say enough on how we were treated and how things were handled. The mushroom French fries were delicious with the jerk sandwich! They also have great vegetarian Pitas for the herbivores in our group! Bottles of wine are a great deal! Love this spot X10 and whoever is doing the hiring up there is a genius! Perfect night!

Walking around the Magnolia Ave area and found Live Oak Music Hall. A national artist was playing on the ground floor lounge and cover was $ 25. Since we had never heard of the act we skipped and headed upstairs where there was no cover charge and a local acoustic artist covering a lot of Bob Marley. Taking two flights of stairs to get to the top, we realized the place was pretty packed. There’s a mix of 4-seat round tables and 6-seat picnic tables. We ended up sharing a picnic table with strangers– no big deal. We sat underneath a sprawling tree that was about 2 inches from our heads– a little strange but I guess it could be written off as «ambience». The live music was pretty good– guy had some talent. There was a small food menu to order from-mostly burger variations with a couple salads to select from. On the far side of the rooftop is a small bar, and it was crowded. After waiting about 15 minutes with zero sign of a server(there was maybe only 2 – 3 servers to cover 100+ patrons), I understood why the long bar lines. So I got up and headed over to order some drinks. They have a decent selection of canned, bottled, and draught beers. I went with the Rahr Lager and ordered a sav blanc for the wife. Also ordered a patty melt. Headed back to my table with drinks in hand. We enjoyed the lovely scenery– could see the Fort Worth downtown skyline lit up from our spot– very cool. After nearly 40 minutes with no patty melt in sight I was worried the order was lost. I flagged down a staff member and explained the situation. They apologized and headed downstairs to check in with the kitchen. Fifteen minutes later we were sharing our patty melt, which was tasty. The fries were soggy with grease– meh. I didn’t have the strength to wait in line for another round of drinks so we headed out. I’d be curious to spend some time downstairs in the main lounge and see what that’s all about. I saw Amos Lee had once performed at Live Oak– would have been a good show. The venue is small and intimate. Maybe we’ll be back.

I came here for my friend’s friend’s performance. I really liked this place! It’s such a small hall with minimum settings. However, no problem with listening to music! I will definitely want to checkout the other performances for next time!

Wednesday night I’m strolling down Mag, hear a nice inviting voice from up above, oh wow I can saunter into a joint not crowded, hear an entertaining musician for free up on a patio offering a pretty peaceful sunset view? Oh Live Oak you read my weary mind. Bobby Duncan is the singer. His voice and lyrics are full of soul and heartfelt truth. Oh Bobby I am now a fan. Nice staff Easy charm Must come back on a weekend night when I can loosen up my liver. Signs tell me badass bands coming to the music hall downstairs. Yayer.
