Boo, this place is now closed but as a music venue close to the TCU campus and right next a railroad crossing, it is quite reminiscent of the local stomping grounds in your college days. Layers of nostalgia waft across you from the not-quite hipster but totally authentic eclectic crowd, the taste of cheap beer in plastic cups, the one bathroom with a titled floor feeling like you are going to fall off at any moment. Where House you will be missed.

This place has its charm. It’s low-key, divey, pretty spacious. Getting to the bar can be incredibly hard on busy nights, so I recommend grabbing two drinks at a time if you do. I’ve been here for small shows as well as cramped shows and it’s usually a pretty good time. I like coming here with groups and not just one or two people, because there’s a lot of places to get split off and usually it’s loud inside. They have a cool outdoor space which connects to the rest of the venue. Idk, this place is just funky! If you plan on going to a bigger event, come early so you can find parking next door.

Went to a party here and had a blast. Eclectic would be just barely right in explaining it’s charm. The open air walled outside area is even more cool than the wildness in the interior of the place. There is an energy that flows through this place like none other. Peace!

Came out here recently to watch a friend play at the Thursday night open mic, and I will say some of the regulars here are just plain rude and obnoxious. I went into the bathroom, which was somewhat dirty, and people proceeded to pound on the door as loudly and obnoxiously as they could while I was in there. The drink selection isn’t the best in the world either, but it is only a $ 10 cover for unlimited drinks, so you get what you pay for, but they don’t even carry Jack Daniel’s, and I didn’t see any Captain Morgan’s or Jim Beam behind the bar. Seriously, what kind of bar doesn’t carry at least the staples of hard liquor, not just vodka, soda, and beer? Definitely not the place to go if you want to drink something hard. Every week, the owner proceeds to play for the last half hour before closing time during the Thursday night open mic despite the fact that there were a few people who didn’t get a chance to play that had signed up right around opening time, just because he wants to plug his band. When a couple of people brought to his attention that him playing took away their chance to play, he didn’t seem to care in the slightest and just continued to play. When 2AM came and it was closing time, the owner proceeded to blast the main PA system and play some very obnoxious music to the point where people(myself included) began to cover their ears. The owner, simply put, is one of the most pretentious people I have met in my life, and, one of the very few people in the DFW metroplex that I have met that I truly can’t stand to be around. I don’t understand how this venue is rated at four stars, and I am forced to give it one star solely because there isn’t an option for a half star.

A warehouse style venue with a modular mood that is artfully re-done as the event calls for it. Hump Day shows offer respite with great music and imagination. Magicians, dancers, musicians, local raconteurs, the place is full of a vibrant energy. Consistently bringing Fort Worth’s best new music to the stage, they always put on a good show.

The dream of the 90’s is alive at the Where House. I don’t know how this place exists, but it is a great concept. Essentially a giant, run down warehouse where the owner hosts hot, sweaty concerts and parties. It is only open when they have parties, which you have to find out about through posters or on their facebook page. They have some amazing bands come through and also host a lot of local musicians. There is a funky outdoor space in the back and a rockin’ good dance floor, and they throw themed parties that are incredibly creative(such as a Tim Burton night a few months ago). It is definitely a mix and mingle of hipsters, punk rockers, underagers(they are 18+) and randoms — probably one of the most interesting places in Fort Worth. I almost don’t want to tell you too much about it for fear that it will get ruined and exposed.
