Eye Health Optometry

Eye Health optometry is the best. I have a complicated condition (keratoconus) and Dr. Tung actually spends time to get the prescription correct. I Never felt rushed and she answered my questions thoroughly. I have been through a lot of optometrist before and i definitely can SEE a big difference.
I still drive to eye health optometry, even though I moved an hour and a half away. I cannot forget her wonderful assistant Betsy, who is really nice and welcoming. Dr. Tung and staff are so amazing, they even squeezed me in 10 min before closing.

I am new to the area and I stumbled into Dr. Tung’s office because it’s so close to my work. I was very impressed with both Dr. Tung and the woman who works the front desk, I wish I could remember her name. I’ve had to come back a few times for eye issues since my first visit, and I’m always happy with the level of service and knowledge.
I have to admit, I almost stopped going to Dr. Tung because there was a hiccup with a payment from my HSA account. It took a little longer than it probably should have, which is why I docked the one star, but she did eventually take care of the situation for me and I do appreciate that.

I work nearby so this was the most convenient location for me. I don’t have any real expectations when it comes to optometry just to get in and get out with new glasses. So I was pleased at how friendly Dr Tung was. I went in to get contacts and they were very patient with me even though I took a ridiculous amount of time to get them in (I’m a sissy about touching my own eye).
Aside from it is a comfortable environment and I didn’t feel any pressure or rudeness at all.

Avoid this place at all costs. I had the worst experience ever. Dr Tung is way too rude. Doesn’t care about the patients at all. Doesn’t know how to behave over call. Not willing to take responsibility for orders she places. Totally un organized. Even if you take an apt you will spend time just waiting there. I can go on n on. Just keep away from this place. I wish there was a way to avoid giving any star at all. They deserve none.

Okay so here goes my story — I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. Today I walked into the clinic for an eye checkup and all I got is disappointment. I’ve been here twice but today was a nightmare. The doctor didn’t even bother to do a complete eye checkup (skipped the eye dilation check up) and wasn’t helpful at all. The assistant (I’ve seen a new face every time I went in there) was new and was struggling through everything. The doctor was sitting right next door and didn’t even bother to come over and help her until someone new came in (At this point here «important» work wasn’t important anymore). At one point she even closed the door doing something «important». All I expected was a decent eye checkup and a caring smile when my insurance pays about 500 $ for the visit. Highly disappointed and looking for a new eye doctor. Any suggestions are welcome :)

Dr Tung has been my optometrist for about two years. I only have good things to say about her and her practice. She has all of the latest technology in optometry. It was all very non-​invasive and quick. She walked me through all of the results of the different tests and did a great job of giving it to me in layman’s terms.
She and her assistant were very patient with me as I came in three times before I made my final decision on prescription glasses. They have a unique/​great selection of glasses. I ended up getting some great Oliver Peoples that I love-​they cost a little under $ 500 total with VSP-​which I wouldn’t have paid except we had a little extra in our flexible spending. I’m happy with the decision I’ve made as I have glasses that are uncommon. (My husband doesn’t like the plain black frames that everyone has so it was a bit more work to find something not so mainstream).
Worth mentioning, I dropped in on the office to get my glasses adjusted, without making an appt, and Dr Tung knew me by name. I was really impressed because she wasn’t expecting me yet she remembered me.
Highly recommend!

Bottom line: only come here if you plan to get frames from them. If not, go somewhere else where they respect your right as a consumer.
It’s true what others have said. They definitely treat you differently if they know you aren’t buying frames or have not brought some before. They were super nice before, but then when I said I wasn’t buying frames there, they pretty much just ignored me and rushed me out the door.
I came back today just to get my new frames tightened, and it was a lot of the same. She took my glasses to a room for like 30 seconds, gave them back without much of a difference and completely ignored me.

Dr. Tung has a lot of patience and she is very friendly. She squeezed in an appointment for me on Dec 31, 2014 even though they were closing down at 4PM. I got a 3:30 PM slot and my glasses selection took time till 4:15PM. She didn’t rush or hurry. She gave me optimal time to choose my glasses after my eye examination. Overall a very good experience.

I’ve been waiting to see if Eye Health would come through and prompt me about my annual eye exam, and they didn’t fail me. Every time I go in there, Dr. Tung seems to be training new staff, but despite that, they continue to provide a great level of service (see my earlier review for more details). In fact, they earned their fifth and star because,
* After I made an appointment, they sent me an online meeting request in my Google calendar, which meant I didn’t need to type it in myself. Not a big deal, but unexpected and cool. I assume their system handles other calendars too.
* They got the giant retina scanner, so no need for dialation. It wasn’t covered by my insurance, but the additional cost ($ 40something?) was worth being able to see afterwards. Plus, we now have a record to compare future years against.
* Dr. Tung was her usual delightful self, carefully explaining each machine and exam. She remained cheerful and patient even when my sleep deprived-​brain couldn’t choose a sunglasses frame.

If I could give negative stars I would. Theo was the worst eye experience I’ve ever had. I went there to get my eyes checked for a glasses prescription since the supposedly specialize in eye diseases. The doctor had no idea what she was doing charged me for things I didn’t need and was pressuring me buy glasses. She was also unbelievably ride to her assistant! I cannot believe how rude and disrespectful she was to me and the assistant. It was terrible!

Was in the area and decided to check them out. I was looking for glasses for my son. They had a pair that I was interested in but wanted to know if they came in a smaller size so one if the associates checked the computer for me. They did come in a smaller frame. I then asked if they would write down the model for me– and they wouldn’t. The frames are not exclusive to their office and simply wanted to write down the model number in case they are not available for the next time I return with my son. Needless to say, I will not return because of the customer service by both the associate and I believe the optometrist (who was also present).

I called around for an eye exam and they are the nicest over the phone. Dr. Tung is very thorough in her exam and explained to me why I need to take special care of my eyes since my Lasik surgery 13 years ago. No optometrist has said anything to me before. She is extremely friendly and helpful. Her assistant, Jennifer, is also very patient with me when I took my time in picking out the frame. I’d like to see more selection on the frames, but what they have is actually very good already.
When I first went in I told them I do not have vision insurance, I just paid everything out of pocket. But 30 mins after I left the office, Jennifer called and said she had checked with my insurance and my eye exam was indeed covered by my policy and they will be giving me a refund! Sweet! Love how they proactively checked it for me and saving me some $$!! THAT is excellent service! Thank you!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr Jq Tung. She is the best optometrist ever — thorough, caring, customer focused. She goes the extra mile and more to make sure customers have a good experience. My whole family goes to her. Dr Tung made sure all issues with lenses and frames were resolved. And she patiently examined my eye issues and recommended treatment to resolve issues that have been examined by multiple MDs and opthomologists. Dr Tung is truly dedicated to her patients in a way seldom seen anymore. Dr Tung is the best and I am a huge fan.

This is an absolute go-​to place «for all your Eye Health needs.» Dr. Tung was very helpful throughout the whole examination process and even offered helpful hints towards picking out frames and lenses. When it was time to talk pricing, she made sure I understood every line of the quote, never tried to up-​sell me, and gave me a very attractive option. The customer service here is something to appreciate, it was quite welcoming. There were a few times where I had to reschedule, but Lourdes the admin made sure I always got the time I wanted.
They have a variety of brands here, and if you can’t find the exact model that you want, they will gladly order them for you and have it shipped to the store. I would definitely recommend this for all optometry inquiries and services.
Ps. If you are an Oakley brand fan, this surely is the place for you.

I had bad experience at that store. I paid top price but the glasses that I received didn’t work. Thanks to my insurance company VSP gave me another chance at different store and got the correct glasses for me.

Great place for eye care. Dr. Jacqueline Tang was great at explaining everything from exams to what type of contact lenses i should need. She spent a lot of time with me and was never in a hurry. Wilson working the front was also very helpful with the insurance process. I would highly recommend this place for all eye care needs.

Excellent customer service. Both Wilson and Jacqueline were very helpful in giving me different options for contact lenses and made sure I got the best price! They allowed me to try on their whole selection of glasses/​sunglasses and did not pressure me into buying a pair. They make you feel welcomed and I would definitely go back for my contacts/​glasses needs!
ps. it’s walkable distance from my work (visa) so I can go there during lunch hours!

Awesome eye doctors (best ever!) and great customer service. I love their Oga frames there, so sleek and chic. The frames are all hand made in France. The price is so reasonable for hand made products…
I have VSP insurance, so it came out to be practically nothing! Can’t say no to that!
