Albertsons

We went in with our piggy bank to exchange our coins for cash. As we left, an employee followed us into the parking lot accusing us of stealing the piggy bank. Apparently a person of color can’t take a piggy bank to exchange for coins without being accused of stealing #microaggresion

We went into this location because we were in the area and stopped by for groceries. As we headed to the deli we tried to get some turkey slices and cheese for sandwiches. The older African American woman was there to assist us. My boyfriend asks her which turkey is the least processed or «healthiest» one is it the Dietz and Watsons oven roasted turkey? She stayed quiet, paused then says «uhhh…uhhhh…yeah.» So basically did not know, made a really awkward pause and just lied and agreed with whatever option he asked about lol. Anyway, he continued to order his turkey then asks to ordered American cheese slices, she then yells to the other employee another older woman that she wants to leave and go on break. She was not polite at all, not friendly or anything. Another customer with a baby girl comes by and she all of a sudden turns sweet and starts baby talking to ladies kid. Once she turns back to my BF she gets all weird and serious again. I’m not sure if it’s because he is Caucasian but observing all of this he did not do anything except be a customer who had a question. Next thing you know a smaller employee arrives and asks us if we need help being actually friendly. We tell that employee we were being assisted already thanks, the older woman helping us then yells at that younger employee that they need to come takeover for her. Without saying anything to use she leaves our items on the scale and takes off on break. Anyway, I personally wouldn’t return to this deli. If you want better service at the deli try Ralph’s. You will have a better experience trying to buy deli meat.

I like this Albertsons because there is plenty of parking, it has a Starbucks, and the people are pretty nice (at least the ones I’ve interacted with). EXCEPT, there is one girl ‘L’ who you can tell she just hates being there, and acts like she hates life and hates everyone. I said hi to her today and she did not say it back. She just stared at me and then proceeded to ring up my items. It’s been like this all the time with her. My husband says the same thing too and others that have been here on separate occasions. She never says anything except the price. No thank you or have a good day etc. Sometimes I feel like so uncomfortable when I see her. That’s why I wouldn’t give Albertsons 5 stars because she needs to change her attitude or just go. The other employees ask if I need a cart or help which is nice and not many places ask. I had a couple problems with the groceries I got here and they exchanged it with no questions asked or even asked for a receipt. Maybe that’s because they see me a lot lol. I really like their fruits here, even the packaged party ones are really fresh and doesn’t taste like they sprayed any preservatives like every other fruit bowls I’ve tried. Starbucks workers in here are nice too. I will continue to shop here until otherwise.

I just bought some bacon that was 1.5 month overdue from this location albertson. It is now oct 30 and it says «use by September 13»

Reviewing for card reader issue! (October 2015)
I usually frequent this Albertsons because it’s close to my house and it’s pretty good as a grocery store. Good selection, decent ish prices. The staff is usually very nice (especially the guys who do the carts and bags, so nice and helpful). Every now and then you get a meh cashier but usually they’re good.
One thing that I have noticed recently is that they are having trouble with their card reader. This has happened on multiple occasions (not at self check out). A lady in front of me had her card denied. I thought this was an isolated issue but when I went to checkout it said my card had no funds even though I definitely had funds in my account. Thankfully I had cash but the lady in front of me wasn’t so lucky. For some reason the cashier kept saying it was a problem with our cards and not their card reader. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, AGAIN the person in front of me has problems with getting their card read. I bring cash now when I go to Albertsons but it sucks for people who come in with card and end up having troubles because of this. Not sure if this problem has been fixed yet but it has occurred on various occasions since then and so it’s something to keep in mind if you stop by here.

I tried self checkout, got an error, attendant needed. Waited, no one came. No one around to help. Went to another self checkout, same error and still couldn’t find any attendant to help. Most store has an employee assigned just for these kind of issues. Its a Saturday and no one! I walked out without my groceries. Waste of time.

Hard to find Albertsons lately– the chocolate chip cookies from the bakery are the best!!!

This is my 4^th visit at the bakery! They always have a stupid ass attitude and they can never deliver what u want on the cake. I go here because it’s close to my house but I’m just going to avoid it now. I’ve been on the phone with them n in person but they just suck! Just save your time and head over to the one on brookhurst And Ellis ! They’re Always nice and respectful and can do a great job on the cake /​cupcakes!

NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!
They double debit my card, then said yes they made a mistake… next day credit my account the wrong amount. Next day debit my account 2x! Made a complete mess of things!

Update ⁹⁄₃: So this morning I get a message on my machine that they will re-​charge my account. That’s the 5^th time and 5^th MISTAKE (debits) by Albertsons. My bank had to changed my card # to stop all this idiocy.
I can not believe how bad this company is. It is very clear that know one knows what they are doing.

Got in Jennifer A’s line to pay for our booty. Jennifer pointed out that since we bought 2 Tillamook ½ gal icecream. that we were entitled to a free «Magic Shell». She then
took my little friend over to the display and helped him to pick some out!
Now. you would think that my review would end here, riiight? but NO…
Some how we lost the chocolate Magic Shell (crack for icecream) and I went back
30 minutes later… She remembered me… said she gave it to the 9 year old. Well, I searched the car, went back and said I couldn’t find it:/ Jennifer gave me another!
Nowww… 2 days later. I found the 1^st one! it was in the freezer in the bag with the icecream!
ohhh the drama! Now… I suppose I will go back and pay for the 2^nd one… just to keep
my karma on track!
My whole entire point of this story… She went above and beyond and made a 9yr old
happy with the special attention that he received:) Thank you Albertsons!

Great store and has lottery and separate tobacco stand. Self check out as well. US Bank too. I love groceries like this!

Unhappy with their service. Tried to get some help but two of the workers didn’t seem to care and looked very mean.

Hey Albertsons, open more lanes when the lines start backing up. And hire faster cashiers! It’s a slow check out every time.

Rude customer service people. Unless its on sale the prices are through the roof. Last but not least this store is freakin COLD!!! They try to freeze you to death so wear a coat.

Horrible customer service by management!!! I called in to ask if they cash paychecks. I was told they do but to see managers upon arrival (Mike or Larry).
When I came to the store, I asked the manager Mike. He was rude and said they do not cash paychecks. I asked him why I was told over the phone they do he asked manager Larry to come. Larry was rude and disrespectful too and gave me no explanation.
Shittiest managers I have ever came across. It was a one time thing where I needed to cash my check because banks were closed.
Don’t waste your money there, use it elsewhere.

This Albertsons is located on the corner of Brookhurst and Edinger in a business complex. It is pretty much like every other Albertsons: well lit and clean. They have a Starbucks in this Albertsons which is always a plus if you need a quick coffee fix as well as a Redbox machine.
I tend to come here because it is on the way home for me from basketball practice and because I know that it is in a safe neighborhood. I like how the store is kept neat, I have never seen any trash on the ground and the employees there are very friendly.
The only negative thing I would have to say is that the prices here are a bit pricer than at Stater Bros. However they do offer a BOGO deal in their meat section which is a plus.
All in all, just your local grocery store.

Not the greatest. Pretty pricey but it’s a good place to get «American» groceries in Westminster.

Great customer service, conveniently located in HB. Fresh produces and veggies. They also have fresh wings in the bakery/​deli area that is fresh, made daily. Plenty of parking all around.

Wings? Check. Juice? Check. 10 for $ 10? Check!
Albertsons is one of my one-​stop-​stores for everything. It’s a bit pricy when buying personal hygiene stuff, but the food is decently priced.
