CLOSED! Tried to go here for dinner. Lights were on inside and outside. No cars were parked outside, no people were inside, and the doors were locked… Guess we should have checked Unilocal prior to going here. CLOSED!!!

I have been coming to this Coco’s for the past 20 years. The food has always been good, but the service has been inconsistent for the past several years. I had dinner here about a month ago, and it was the last time. The waitress had the attitude like she was working in a school cafeteria.

If I could give no stars I would. Service horrible. Food worse. Prices way too much for the quality and quantity of what you get. Worst customer service. Nothing has gone right here numerous times of coming here. Never ever going back! Worst overall experience ever they need to get it together.

This past Sunday afternoon we decided to drop in for their prime rib. They were not expecting us as all of the smaller tables had been used and NOT cleaned. So, we sat down at a larger table. The waiter seemed miffed when he commented that we were at a larger table. I ordered the 8 oz. prime rib with baked potato. For $ 12.99 you do not get salad or soup($ 2.49 more) or even bread! I had to ask for the horse radish sauce(that’s included on the menu). The 8 oz. prime was cooked correctly(medium rare) but a little tough. We rarely eat red meat anymore(since Fukushima) but this did not taste nearly as good as I remember from the past. Hubby mentioned that our table top was greasy. While we were eating, a waiter was sweeping the carpet near us with a BROOM! This made me feel like were were really eating in a «greasy spoon». THINKTWICEBEFOREDININGHERE! WEWON’T BE.

I have rated this place before a couple months or so ago when I came and got a steak and salmon dinner with my boyfriend but for some odd reason I don’t know if it’s different managers or if they were understaffed are people quit or what but today was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had. what was odd is a literally saw the cook and two or three other workers and I’m assuming the manager who was helping around the place the place wasn’t even halfway full but did have a few more tables that I normally see which is sad because that location on Golden West St. is actually very booming and very successful and there’s never any complaints from myself. i’ve grown up going to cocos in this location in particular also the Golden West of course but still I’ve never been disappointed there and till today today was horrible I had floaty things in my water twice he replace my water! twice! and every single cup had something floating in it! disgusting! also he could barely speak English which I’m not trying to be racist or anything but when you are going to be a waiter or waitress and you must be able to speak clearly so you can communicate with your customers and provide successful customer service. Which you should always want to do. I was kind of felt bad just because everybody around me look like they still hadn’t even gotten any of their food and I was difficult I guess in the beginning because there something I was in my water but hey I’m not drinking dirty water and I’m not drinking someone else’s leftovers from their we decided to leave and get pie before we left because we love the pie there we got a slice of the lemon meringue pie and a slice of pumpkin harvest pie the weird thing was when I noticed in the window of the pies there is only one lemon left and I’m assuming that was the display so we walk away come back to get served and he brings us back to slices of the pie one of each the lemon meringue pie when I opened the box to go take a bite before we walked out basically the meringue which is supposed to be a marshmallow type of fluff was a liquefied runny mess. Obviously instead of telling me and being honest we’re out of the lemon meringue he took a slice of the DISPLAY pie which had probably been there for weeks and SOLDITTOUS! it’s ridiculous that anybody would actually sell that to somebody!!! So went back and demanded for a different pie slice because are so disgusting and he actually lied to her faces and told us we’d they had just made it that morning lie. I feel bad for this location because I feel that it is failing and it’s going to plummet to a really bad end and Will probably close soon because of how it is ran if it’s like that every day … I wish you the best and I just won’t ever be returning to that location until it’s rejuvenated with better staff and better employees and fresher product.

Poor customer service. My son and I came in, sat down to be seated, then looked at the toy claw machine for a few minutes. We went to the restroom, then sat down and waited to be seated again. A lady walks in says she wants a table for 4. The host immediately seats her and her party. I looked at the host and told him we were there first. He continue so I got up waved and said«bye». He then mocked me and said«He was here first, he was in the bathroom.» The fact that he knew that proves I was there first. The host is a Hispanic man with a shaved head.(The purpose of me listing that is so that the management may see and coach him on customer service.) I will not return to this Cocos again.

Yuck. I went here on thanksgiving morning 2012 and another time for dinner last year, we remembered it being a good spot that was clean and friendly. This time was a whole different experience. The windows were we got seated had children’s greasy syrupy finger print smeared all over. Not just a few prints, I’m talking walls just thickly covered. Server Albino was rude and had attitude. Our food took 45 –1hour to be served. The server knew the wait was horrible because he did comp the 2.00 dollar toast. Thanks? Portions were so small and the cook probably prepared food for prisons before he landed this position. Lost his passion and art for food forsure. What gets me is the place had about 10 employees on the floor, about 10 tables of small parties occupied and when we received our food was cold like it was sitting under the lamb for awhile. Even the pancakes were a disappointment. Super sad and thin. I thought to skip making breakfast at home would help us but no. The bathrooms were disgusting and the stale air and silent room was really not helping our bad service and waiting forever for our food. They didn’t put music on till after our meal was almost done and a little air filtering would not of hurt. That Cocos went down hill from two years ago. It’s a shame.

Dirty tables, long wait, cold breakfast when it finally arrive. We had a hair backed in our muffin!!! Nothing worse than that. The A/C was so loud it sounded like a helicopter was going to land on the roof. Everything was awful. Should have gone to Mimi’s.

My boyfriend and I have been eating here off and on for a while, we had mostly good experiences the worst we had was last eve. We usually order the same thing each time a good value and good food. Would have given them 4 stars accept for last nights meal. Last eve the chef must have been in another place. The salad looked like it had been grabbed by hand and thrown on the plate, the Croissand for the sandwiches were crusty and hard, as if they had tried to refresh old Bread. Everyone has a bad day so possibly this was the chefs. Not to mention I received the wrong soup :-( On a bright note there was one person who appeared to be a new employee who was the hardest working person in the Resteraunt. Good Job for a young person, very nice asset for Cocos. Maybe we will give them another chance.

Food was fine. Waitresses did the best they could based on the circumstances. Only 2 servers on a Sunday night? Are you kidding me? Get the ladies some more help next time so that we can be a attended to properly and maybe the stars go up.

My wife and I have been going here for years. The décor is old but kept up and always a clean place for sure. The staff are always friendly and good at making the specials match what you want. They always have great specials going on and sometimes you have to ask for the extra menus to see them all. I really like the soups they have, soup and sandwich combos are always a hit. Dont forget the pies, really awesome pie selection and one of the best pecan in OC.

Coco’s has always had my heart since I was a kid, and as the years have gone on they haven’t tried to go so far left and be «trendy» with their food, they still have amazing pies(WAY better than Marie Callenders) good sandwiches and doesn’t break the bank! My mom started physical therapy across the street from here and we were starving and when in doubt I stick to my go to places that I know I will be content and happy! I’ve definitely noticed a bad habit Coco’s has. NOTENOUGHEMPLOYEES! I’ve typically seen 1 waiter for about 4 tables around the same time along with 1 chef that takes forever for out food to come out! I’m not sure if they don’t think they will be busy around down times but it’s definitely unfair to the 1 waiter who has to juggle 1,000 things! How can they give you good customer service when the phone is ringing, people walked in, food is up, etc.?! The food is always so good so that’s never an issue its the lack of service that is, and I’m sure your probably thinking, «its just Coco’s what do you expect?» I’m a Denny’s feign and my service is always on point no matter what time I go so it shouldn’t be any excuse for any type of dining. I know it is truly not the waiter’s fault but rather something management is not doing properly which affects the waiters tip and the service for the customers! Pleaseee add more staff at the Brea and FV location please! It would make such a difference! :(

More of a 2.5 but rounding up to be nice. It was a I’m in basketball shorts with a hat kind of dining night so that led me to Coco’s. The restaurant was fairly dead on a Saturday night. I’ve been curious to get their prime rib dinner(pretty cheap for around $ 14). It came out cooked pretty decently, and while the outer edge of the meat could have used more seasoning, I think it was decent for being at Coco’s. I was super confused because the waitress said they ran out of prime rib but they subbed it for another cut of meat(when it came out, it looked exactly the same… shouldn’t they have asked us if this is okay before just making modifications to our meal). The sides were whatevers– baby carrots, broccoli medley with a baked potato. Not too wild about how either of those tasted. Had a slice of the peach pie– I think the one I had at Marie Callender’s was much better. This one had too much resemblance to canned peaches. Service was a little all over the place. Confused/frazzled waitress– difficulty flagging her down even though the restaurant was empty. Our check was also brought out before we had the chance to order dessert. Table settings weren’t available when we were first seated. Yep, wasn’t expecting much but definitely didn’t leave super disappointed either.

We had not been to this restaurant before and boy were we surprised. We arrived early, about 5:15 today, Saturday and there were only about 4 other customers there. We were interested in the roast beef burgers. Wow, for $ 8.99 they were a good deal! I opted for the mushroom Swiss roast beef burger and my girlfriend went for the roast beef burger with cheddar and onion strings. They did not disappoint. Our server Carisa, was super nice and helpful. She is enough to make us want to return. Anyway, the burgers were very big, too big for each of us to finish. The fries were okay and my girlfriend ordered strawberry chocolate pie that I sampled and it was awesome. We can’t wait to go back for more of each.

+4 Had the cream of broccoli soup last night. It was very delicious. –1 the reason i did not give this a five star rating is because the service was slow. If I didn’t have to wait as long as I did you can be sure i would have given it a perfect rating. I would recommend this location to people, it is very convenient being located about two lights from a major freeway(405).

This place leaves a lot to be desired. It was on a good run for a while but the understaffing issues they are certainly experiencing seriously hamstring this place. You can expect to wait to be seated even when there are plenty of open tables, they will also take payments before seating you even if you have been there much longer. In the morning they usually have 2 servers on the floor but they also serve as food runners, cashiers, hosts, and bus boys, so you can see where the service would suffer as a result. Once you are seated, don’t expect a speedy ordering or delivery of your food and the lack of servers does not lend to much attention as they are distracted with other duties. The food is hit and miss, sometimes it is hot, sometimes not, and it is not really a place you would feel comfortable sending anything back. you don’t get a very sincere sense that they would deal well with that. When the food is hot, it can be a very tasty breakfast. Not worth the gamble in hoping you get decent service and or hot food.

One word… DISGUSTING!!! Steaks came out extremely rare to the point of my mashed potatoes soaking in blood and there was plastic in the soup. Will never eat at this Coco’s again. GROSS!
