I almost don’t want to write this review because I feel like this place is a truly hidden gem, but they deserve all the accolades anyone can heap on them. I stumbled across this brand of coffee at Cream Pan while I was in graduate school and I immediately noticed the difference. I started buying bags of the Vienna Roast from Cream Pan because no other place could beat it for freshness and just the right amount of kick in the morning(the only thing that came close was the Clover-brewed stuff at Starbucks). So when I looked this place up and saw it was in Orange County I had to check it out. The freshness of this coffee is clearly evident as many other reviewers have stated, but visiting today they have SO many choices of different origin beans to chose from(Cream Pan only carries a few). I think I will have a hard time going anywhere else from now on for the price/quality. I bought an Italian espresso roast which Rosa was kind enough to grind for me, the 100% Kona, my favorite Vienna Roast and a pound of the medium roast Colombian just to try. I broke into the Kona as soon as I got home and holy smokes it is well worth the price. I usually can’t justify drinking Kona all the time because of the price, but this was definitely on par with the stuff I’ve bought before in Hawaii and the bloom while it was pouring was intoxicating. Comparing this $ 161-lb. bag to something like $ 20 at Trader Joes(god knows how old) is just – well there is no comparison. Coffee-lovers, go check this place out!

Coffee is amazing here as well as prices! Well worth the drive and time! Go to the back if you cant get a hold of anyone from the front because their bell was broken and they couldnt really hear me knocking.

This place is amazing! You would never think they sell coffee out of the location, but if you ring the bell, they open up and you’re right in the roasting area with the most incredible aroma. They have many roasts, many of which are still warm from coming out of the roasters.

This is the only place where I buy my freshly roasted coffee beans! Hands down the best beans I’ve ever had in my life! If you buy beans here you have to try their Sumatra or French Roast it is superb! Also, the price for the beans are unbelievably cheap for the quality at around $ 10 a pound!!! Apart from the great beans, their service is amazing! Right when you walk in you are greeted by a very friendly man(I forgot his name) and you can just tell he has the passion for what he does! The first time I came he didn’t even know me but it felt as though we were good friends! Definitely my go-to spot for beans!

So I am a newbie to the whole knowledge of roasting coffee and what not and a while back I realized that I truly enjoy and appreciate the taste of a good ol black cup of coffee after discovering the french press by bodum. My father gave me my first bag of Pete’s dark roast coffee beans and that’s when I began my research on coffee beans and came to the conclusion that Pete’s beans weren’t the best option. While browsing for places that roasted their own coffee beans near me I happened to come across this lovely place. I came friday afternoon and as soon as you park you can instantly smell the goodness of fresh roasted coffee sigh… The men who I believe was the owner was extremely helpful, gave me many tips and directed me to a lady name Rosa which again was very helpful and patient with me as I had many questions on what she recommended what was the difference between the variety they had and even let me smell the different flavors. I ended up getting a lb of 3 different coffee beans and all I can say is that I am very pleased with my purchase will definitely be coming here from now on for GREATQUALITY coffee and recommend it to all the coffee lover’s. I gave a bag to my father and he absolutely agrees with me. Oh did I mention the prices are very affordable under $ 10 for each lb :)

So I ran out I coffee beans from Portola, and did not feel like spending 20 dollars on another ¼ lbs bag of coffee. So I find this place on Unilocal right next to my work and think yeah I will give it a shot. So I head over on my lunch break, and get a little worried when I see where it’s located. It’s just not a place were you would think to look for freshly roasted coffee. All my fears went away as soon as I opened my car door. Without even going inside the heavenly sent of roasted coffee practically makes me run inside the open door. I am greeted by no one so walking in a few more feet and there is just big spinning drum of freshly roasted coffee cooling down. I nice women walks up to me at that point and shows me the menu and talks about what she is roasting that day. I tell her I like medium roast and ask what she suggest. She taps a tub right in front of me saying that it contained a medium roast Costa Rican that was just roasted… «Uh I’ll take that» I quickly exclaim. I get it ground for my french press and I am handed a 1lbs bag for 10 bucks. That coffee was still a little warm!!! In the bag. I when I finally try it, I am shocked and amazed after seeing their setup I was expecting good to great coffee. But this was amazing not bitter very smooth and with some wonderful flower and slight fruity notes before I new it I had finished the 32 oz pot. I usually only make coffee at work and only one or two people would ever have some, even the stuff from Portola. But now with it’s going fast. You aren’t going to find water slowly dripping through coffee over 24hr period here. What you will find is straight up some of the finest coffee in the area for a great price.

I had been buying my coffee from a small local coffee shop for the past 20 years until the owner recently retired. This little coffee shop only served coffee made from beans roasted by Delta. I not only bought freshly made coffee from him, but also the Delta whole beans. After he closed his doors I thought that was the end of enjoying Delta coffee, until by chance I read the reviews here. I happened to be near Fountain Valley today and I decided to stop in. I was bit hesitant walking into the roasting area, but I was greeted by some very friendly folks who were more than happy to help me. I bought 2lbs. of the espresso roast, which is what I used to buy from my local guy. I have traveled all over the world and tried many varieties of coffee, and I have to say Delta is creating some of the finest coffee imaginable. I am ecstatic that once again I have Dela coffee in my kitchen. I live about 30 miles away, but it’s well worth the trip. Thank you Delta Café Roasting Co.!!

Just an excellent product at a very competitive price. We bought a nice Breville espresso machine, and hunted around OC for the best, freshly roasted coffee beans we could find. This is the place — in a sort of industrial area — nothing fancy, just a front office and a back room with the roasting equipment — but they pass the savings on to the customers. $ 9.00 for a pound of espresso roast that works so much better in the machine than what you get from Starbucks or elsewhere. Great taste, lots of crema, really makes getting the higher-end machine worth it. They do close a bit early — so, need to plan a bit, but well worth the effort to go here.

I had my Gaggia Classic repaired here. They did a great job, fast turnaround. While I was there I also picked up a 1lb bag their espresso roast; outstanding coffee. Best part: it’s $ 10/bag. I’ll be back!

Disclaimer: I am a coffee snob and I own a finicky high-end espresso machine and a very expensive coffee grinder(the most important piece of equipment in the process). I can’t say enough about these guys! This is my secret source for incredibly good, fresh roasted coffee beans. The business is owned by Italian friends who are all super friendly. They supply a lot of the local high-end restaurants in the area with their coffee. And luckily they sell straight to the public. The exterior doesn’t look like much, but once you walk in, you’re surrounded by the delicious scent of freshly roasted coffee of many different varieties. To buy a pound or two, go to the back where the roasting equipment is and see Rosa. She’ll hook you up with the brown gold. My personal favorite is their Italian Espresso roast whole bean. Everytime I pick the coffee up, it’s no more than 4 days since it’s been roasted. In fact I just brewed a double shot and my crema was the entire height of my shot glass!!! That just does not happen with beans you buy anywhere else! This is a business that locals should support. They have HIGH quality product, friendly service, at low prices!

This is a quaint little coffee shop. It was my first visit yesterday — had a lovely little chat with Chris. He even brewed a fresh cup of Espresso for me to taste. Would definitely go again to this place.

I came upon Delta Roasting Co. while searching Unilocal for places to buy freshly roasted coffee beans. I recently upgraded my home coffee brewing experience with a La Pavoni manual pull espresso machine and a Rancilio grinder. I was looking for freshly roasted coffee beans to maximize my espresso. Delta Café Roasting Co. is now my go-to place for coffee beans. So far, the two different bags of beans I’ve purchased there were excellent and all within 1 day of being roasted. They have a huge variety and great prices. I can’t imagine that many places can compete with Delta on price and quality. Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Over the months, I’ve tried Sumatra, Brazil, Espresso Italian Roast, Espresso Dark Roast, Kona, Vienna, and French Roast. Delta Café Roasters has many more selections, but I think I’ve tried enough to do a fair review. In a few words — Great Value for fresh Coffee Lovers! This is not a storefront, but a roasting and shipping place — but they welcome walk-in customers. It helps If you have some coffee knowledge to fully appreciate what Delta is offering. It helps if you have your own home burr grinder and brewers and know how to get the best from the the bean. But I’ve gifted my average coffee-drinking friends and relatives with Delta Café and they all ask for more! It’s a good place to get very fresh roasted beans by the pound but they will also grind them for you, if you ask. I’ve walked out of Delta Café Roasting with bags full of beans that were STILLWARM from the roaster! In fact, these can be so fresh that you may want to let them sit in the bag a few days to finish curing so the full flavor and body can develop. IMHO — all the roasts and beans seem to be very low-acid — very mellow to the taste. That could be due to Chris’ special roasting methods. See for yourself — give them a try!

First let me establish I am a Coffee Addict and i have been to nearly every coffee shop /roaster /espresso bar in the area of Orange County. I buy coffee beans from other places from time to time, but this is where I consistently get my beans from. Great staff and the owner shares a true passion for coffee. Whole beans purchased from this roaster after they are ground the bloom very well when brewed. Just ring the doorbell and the friendly staff will come from the back where they roast the beans to help you. If they don’t answer, go around back and they will help you. I highly recommend their French roast and the Espresso roast, amazing!

I’ve been home roasting my own coffee for many years as I just didn’t like anything I found local. On a whim, I gave Delta Café Roasting a try. Wow, their espresso roast was awesome! It has now been almost two years since I’ve roasted any coffee myself. I’ll keep coming back here. I just wish they’d get their website fixed up as it is much easier for me to order there. I’m also a home brewer and this weekend I will be adding fresh brewed espresso to a new batch of porter that I just brewed. Hmmm… Maybe I’ll call it «Delta Coffee Porter».

I’ve been a customer of theirs since the day I opened my café a mile away. I finally took the time to do a review(which was long overdue) in hopes that others will experience great coffee and service as well. Not only do they offer great, freshly roasted coffee(and I am extremely picky with my coffee), they never fail to deliver great service every time. I’m very grateful that I found them as I only order as needed to ensure quality and freshness for my customers, and they never have an issue with my ordering frequency. Thank you Arthur for always being prompt in meeting my coffee needs. Five plus stars for sure.

Great service and superb coffee! I found this roaster a few years back when I asked at Pain Du Monde in Fashion Island where they got their delicious full bodied coffee from. To my surprise I found it was a local roaster in Fountain Valley. I called them up and found out that the company was ran by a couple of French guys, and when I went to pick up some coffee they showed me their facilities and explained their roasting process… very friendly. I too converted the coffee drinkers at work, and now my office takes only Delta Café, some people even order extra to take home with them. They have a wide variety of medium to dark blends, all kinds of flavors and even a really good iced tea. They offer full coffee service at a great value. Can’t beat it. Thanks Delta Café!
