Check out their website menu! Best I’ve ever seen, just mouse over for a picture of that item. That and all the 5 star reviews are why I’m rating this. I haven’t eaten their yet, but I almost want to plan a trip up from SD just to try them. I love pictures on the menu LOL, and their website gets extra points for that.

Was craving California fish grill, but it’s way too far from my house and Malibu fish grill is just way too over priced so decided to finally give Fish-O-Licious a chance. When my bf & I arrived at around 4pm the place was empty. We took a look at the menu and they are VERY reasonably priced! Lunch special: Filet of sole w/2 sides AND a drink only 7.95 $ and surprisingly their lunch special ends at 6pm(for late lunchers or early dinner ppl) lol. Anyway, the lady at the register was really nice taking our orders and what gives this place 5 stars is that she let me look at their bottle of cajun flavoring spice! Everyone knows I’m a health nut so I was glad I could check the ingredients in it before adding it onto my fish(ended up not getting cajun cause the one they use has MSG!) I love that they have all their fish on display which gives them a +1 over CFG& malibu fish grill. We ended up sitting in to eat and the food doesn’t come in a disposable plate w/plastic forks & knives(not as fancy as CFG, but that’s a good thing as it saves YOU money!) Salmon combo — came w/any 2 sides + drink was pretty cheap too. I got the salmon plain and just seasoned it w/salt, pepper, and lemon. The sides I picked were steamed veggies & brown rice. The brown rice was better here compared to CFG. It’s a little more fluffy in texture. The salmon was grilled beautifully and cooked perfect. Not too overcooked and soggy, it easily flaked w/the fork. Fish & Shrimp Plate — my bf got this and they give you plenty of shrimp. Batter wasn’t too oily and shrimp were pretty big. He chose the cole slaw & grilled zucchini for his sides. I had some of his zucchini and it was great! melt in your mouth. The cole slaw was light/refreshing & I liked that it wasn’t drenched in dressing. I liked the pineapple bits in the cole slaw as well. We were given a stamp card & will definitely be coming more often!

Came to try this place out based on the reviews. Let me tell you, definitely NOT disappointed. I ordered the grilled salmon special w/Cajun spice + brn rice & veggies. Fish was cooked just right, moist and fresh. Spices wasn’t overpowering and had just the right kick. Brown rice was super soft and didn’t taste like cardboard. The staff was über nice and friendly, place was clean and had plenty of parking. Try to beat the lunch rush as this place gets lots of traffic during lunch time. Reasonably priced, definitely coming back again soon. A++ Chow Ming approved! Almost forgot, make sure you check in. You get extra 10% off your next meal!

Finally made it here when they’re not closed! Got the Cajun Salmon with Grilled Zucchini, Coleslaw and Sourdough. The prices are very, very reasonable!!! Coleslaw is pretty good! Cabbage is cut chunky style with carrots, golden raisins and bits of pineapple chunks in it! Not a fan of their watery tartar sauce which isn’t acidic enough, so I order to-go and use my own tartar sauce at home. But they give you a very nice, juicy, sizable lemon wedge to squeeze onto your fish and it’s really fresh, healthy and filling for the price! They close early M-Sat @ 8 pm; and close Sun @ 4 pm. I’ll have to remember to eat my dinner way earlier or always go there during lunch hours! I’m a fan and I’ll be back for pictures. I ate my Fish-O-Licious meal before remembering to take the photo! :)

Well well, the fish is delish! I am shocked about the value at this place. Unusual for me, I felt like eating healthy and the furthest I’ll take my healthy eating is seafood, BUT it’s gotta be in Mexican food or it has to be fried. yes that’s healthy for me. dont judge me… The fish burrito comes with mahi mahi, salmon and 1 more fish that I can’t remember. $ 5.95? eh its probably a small burrito. I can use some portion control, lets just get it. To balance my healthy meal, I ordered some fries. The girl at the register was helpful and friendly :) I got my food to go and it was ready in 10 minutes. Got home, put on family guy from my TiVo, plopped onto my sofa, opened my to-go box and it was a tiny baby… well the size of a tiny baby… I’m no creeper… ‘ The burrito was huge and had a generous serving of fish inside…6 bux for this burrito was a steal. There was tons of cabbage and salsa in the burrito, well balanced and flavorful with the fried fish. The fries were good, they reminded me of McDonald’s fries, which is a good thing… and they were lightly sprinkled with cajun seasoning. HIGHLY recommend!

One step down from CA Fish Grill, but still delicious. It’s also more of a «fast food» joint versus the fancier shmancier CA Fish Grill. This place is a healthy alternative(or not if you want fried everything). In front of the register, they placed two sample plates… one filled with fried fish, shrimp, & fries(the mouthwatering looking dish aka the devil on my shoulder) & the other was the Filet of Sole(the healthy dish aka the angel on my shoulder). After contemplating and fighting the temptation of wanting to be bad/unhealthy, I opted for the healthy dish… The Filet of Sole cajun style. I ordered it with a side of brown rice & cole slaw. Dang, good job me for having some will power! Oh yea, it also comes with a sourdough roll. It was definitely a satisfying meal & service is quick & friendly. They also offer stamp cards/loyalty cards here so you get your 11th plate free!

Fish-O-Licious! Which of course in German means, «a whale’s vagina.» Wait… that doesn’t sound right. I’ll be honest, I don’t think anyone knows what it means. Scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago. I just like to think of it as a poor man’s California Fish Grill. I like them both. The food is quite tasty. I recommend their charbroiled filet of sole. It’s served with with fries or rice, cole slaw and a warm dinner roll. I don’t like cole slaw though, so I substitute it with grilled zucchini. I’ve tried both the lemon butter and Cajun styles and highly recommend the lemon butter. I could slather that stuff on my shoe and it’ll be good. I found the Cajun style to be surprisingly bland. Prices are reasonable for seafood. Although I missed out on their Groupon deal, they currently have a Unilocal check-in deal for 10% off your next order!

Personally, the best deal on their menu is the Filet of Sole with lemon butter. I have had Filet of Sole with lemon butter, Filet of Sole with their mango sauce, and the cajun catfish. I ordered the canjun on my second visit. It happened to be the most expensive fish on their grilled list, and I was a bit disappointed. I guess it is because I set my expectations very high after my first visit. I did not enjoy the catfish as much as I did with the Filet of Sole. I did not like how it tasted very similar to the Filet of Sole that I had, was smaller, and two dollars more. The sides that came with the entrée were excellent. I loved the dinner roll/sourdough roll. Their rice complemented the fish nicely(opt for the rice, fries are whatever). I also liked their coleslaw — which is a surprise because I usually don’t like coleslaw. Theirs have pineapple chunks and raisins. Items with raisins in them is always a plus on in book. This is the perfect remedy when you are craving for some California Fish Grill. It is not as good, but it is pretty close, and a heck of a lot closer. Another plus is that it’s usually not very crowded inside. Or at least not when I went. For the price and quality of food it is already worth it. The close proximity just adds the bonus.

Fresh fish cooked to order for cheap prices, and it’s good! First time I came here I ordered the lemon butter seasoned filet of sole meal. It came with rice, coleslaw, and bread. Second time, I had the halibut with the lemon butter seasoning again, substituted the rice for grilled zucchini and coleslaw for salad. The fish was cooked just right and the seasoning went well with it. Enjoyed it very much both times I’ve had it. Next time I’ll try their cajun seasonin. Definitely a good place to go for lunch!

I was not impressed. For some reason they sliced my salmon into two, weird long strips. Maybe it made it easier to cook or something. Anyways, the fries were dry and hard. The salmon didn’t taste yummy. I’m not sure why, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The slaw ended up everywhere in my to-go box. They should consider putting it into an individual cup with a cap for to-go orders. And the bread was also dry and hard. The staff was friendly, but it doesn’t make up for the semi-inedible food. I will have to stick to California Fish Grill on Katella then.

After reading the reviews, I had to give this place a try. I really wanted to LOVE this place but sadly, I didn’t. Maybe I didn’t order the correct item. I was comparing this place to California Fish Grill. Please take note: there is a difference. I like CFG more. I ordered the three fish taco combo. It come with three different types of fish in the taco but I thought each taco came with a different fish but it was chopped up and mixed together. The coleslaw was good though. Peter ordered the filet of sole plate and that was good. Nothing amazing. I guess if you feel like eating seafood for a decent price, and don’t want to drive all the way to California fish grill.

Saturday, August 20, 2011, will go down in history as the day my boyfriend and I first tried Fish-O-Licious; and also the time we drove all over Orange County trying to get our hands on an HP TouchPad. If you are a tech geek or have a significant other who’s a tech geek, you might have known about the epic fire sale last weekend. Across the nation retailers slashed the price of HP’s TouchPad from $ 399 to $ 99 and $ 499 to $ 149 for the 16GB and 32GB models, respectively. I had/have no need for a tablet, but even I got caught up in the mass excitement(read: hysteria) and wanted one(two, three, four). But anyway, back to Fish-O-Licious and the primary focus of this review. We came here at the recommendation of a friend.(Thanks, Carlo V.!) D and I are always on the lookout for fresh, tasty, and affordable seafood and this place satisfies all three criteria. For $ 7.99, I ordered the Special of the Day which on that Saturday happened to be Fillet of Sole. I had several sauces and sides to choose from: Cajun or Lemon Butter sauce and rice or fries. I decided on Cajun sauce and fries(spice and fried goodness all the way!). The combo meal also came with coleslaw, a Sourdough roll, and drink. My boyfriend ordered the Salmon(with Lemon Butter sauce) and drink combo meal for $ 9.95. D optioned for rice instead of fries because he was striving for a healthy, lunch experience — boring! ;) Overall, I thought the food was delicious. I’m not sure exactly what was Cajun about my Sole(it didn’t taste the least bit spicy), but it was flaky, mildly flavored, and perfectly cooked(results apply to both the Sole and Salmon). The fries were thin cut, hot, and crispy, but otherwise unmemorable. In my opinion, the coleslaw which included chunks of pineapple and a sprinkle of golden raisins was the best part of the entire meal. Inside Fish-O-Licious, the family-oriented restaurant is small, immaculately clean, and stripped down to the bare essentials for décor. The staff is very friendly and likable. Can’t wait to go back and try the Seafood Kabob!

I was pretty happy with my first visit here. It’s a nice addition to the restaurant row here on Talbert. All of the shops here and across the street have pretty decent food and fair prices so my midweek lunch selection is full of decent options. I tried the filet of sole plate. I chose the lemon butter sauce and rice instead of fries. The portion was surprising large and quite tasty. Lots of rice, a tasty cole slaw and a great sourdough roll. The food was quite good and reasonably priced for the quantity and quality. I did not appreciate all of the owner’s family members in the dining area. I’m all for a family feel but their kids were loud and disturbing. The group took up three tables. Maybe I just caught them at the wrong time. I will be back and I look forward to this place staying in my regular lunch rotation.

A Short&Sweet Review… Shorter than most reviews and sweeter than a quick tip. SHORT(not so great…) 1. The soda fountain is next to the cash register which is the exact spot where you pick up the food… I can only imagine the chaos during the lunch rush. 2. The rice was okay… wished they had condiments to dress it up… hmm… Maybe I should of asked for more garlic sauce. Then again, i gotta think healthy! SWEET!(The Good…) 1. A fresh grilled fish place in this part of town! The Filet of Sole was light and fluffy in texture. This fishy also came with a free drink. 2. The price and value is on point. Inexpensive for fresh grilled fish! 3. A pager… probably to solve issue#1 above. .

I’ve been trying to get my son to eat fish again after his horrifying incident that happened about a year ago when he was forced to worship the porcelain god one night after having fish for dinner. So, I selected Fish-O-Licious for lunch because they only offered one non-seafood main entrée on their menu. The restaurant is located across the street from the Costco in Fountain Valley with plenty of free parking. The place is tiny with several tables and you place your order and pick up your food from the counter. They offered several specials ranging in price from $ 7 — $ 10 including a drink… sweet! My wise ass son looks at the menu and tells me that he’ll have a side order of french fries, sour dough bread and a brownie. I threatened, oops… I mean I encouraged him to try the salmon plate… =) Our lunch order consisted of: (1) Salmon Plate & Drink Special — $ 9.95 I selected the cajun style for my salmon that was served with rice, coleslaw, and sour dough bread. My order arrived with 1 ½ salmon fillets that was seasoned nicely. The rice was nothing special but the coleslaw had pieces of pineapple and raisins and was delish. Hubby ate my bread with the budda and said it was purty good. My lunch plate which included a re-fillable drink was fresh and tasty. 4 Stars (2) Salmon Plate & Drink Special — $ 9.95 My son selected the lemon butter seasoning for his salmon. His order arrived with 2 salmon fillets, french fries, coleslaw, and bread. He reluctantly ate his salmon but ended up liking his lunch. I tasted his salmon and it was tastier than my order. (3) 3 Fish Tacos & Drink Special — $ 7.95 Hubby’s order arrived with 3 fish(mixed salmon & white fish) flour tacos with fries and coleslaw. I tasted one of the tacos and it was yummy. 4 Stars I really enjoyed my lunch at the restaurant. However, get there early or dine during off times because of the limited seating. It’s also too bad they don’t have room for a salsa and condiments bar. All in all, Fish-O-Licious offers fresh and tasty food at very reasonable prices. I’m a fan and I’ll return with my born-again fish eating son. 4 Stars

I got super excited when I heard this place opened close by to home. I am a huge fan of California Fish Grill but unfortunately Ca. Fish grill isn’t very close to me, but Fish-O-Licious is just as good and very comparable to Ca. Fish grill. I came here yesterday for lunch with my friends. I got the Fillet of Sole meal with Cajun sauce and a side of lemon butter since I couldn’t make up my mind which one I wanted. It came with some seasoned rice, Cole slaw, and sourdough bread. A drink was also included, all for under $ 10. I also got a cup of Clam Chowder and it was actually really good. It had a lot of flavor and very creamy. They’re super friendly here and you get your food fairly quickly. It got packed here about 30 minutes after I got here with the lunch crowd so come early to beat the crowd or come later. I will definitely be a regular here!

The charbroiled catfish reigns supreme over the Filet of Sole. It’s more meatier, although smaller in size, but boy, does it make up for flavor profiles in my book. It packs a definite wallop and is really tasty with rice or french fries. I tried my friend’s Filet of Sole and I tried a bite of my catfish, definitely a difference, but I can’t complain because of the affordable prices. I do wish the butter was softer, perhaps at room temperature, for the bread because it was almost solid and was hard to spread. I did see that they added sugar packets next to the soda fountain, which made me happy. It does get pack during dinnertime, when we there, so plan accordingly.

It’s finally open! I’ve seen the sign driving on Talbert countless times. I think there’s also another location in LA. Anyways the fish here is fresh. They have it laying out in the front counter when you order. The prices here are pretty cheap for a fresh fish meal. The service was pretty quick and everything is made to order. I got the filet of sole meal. It came with my lemon butter fish, cole slaw, side salad, and a dinner roll. The fish was pretty excellent. The butter and lemon shined. The cole slaw had raisins and pineapples in it. It was pretty sweet. The salald was normal, nothing special. I definitely want to come back and try the halibut and battered fish tacos. You will see me here again! Recommendation: Filet of Sole w/lemon butter.

Fisholicious almost rated 5 stars but overall it was very good — just not exceptional. It’s strength is the really fresh, quality fish they use and the reasonable prices; the weakness is not seasoning the food strongly enough IMO. It’s an attractive little restaurant with a display of fresh fish at the front counter. There’s a tv on with closed captions – so why not turn the dang chatter sound off and let us hear some music? Seating’s better outside anyway; go around the corner to the patio with the umbella tables. We tried: Fish plate(fish ‘n’ chips basically): the batter was fried to deep golden brown and on the crunchy side. It was filet of sole, not the best for deep frying IMO but it worked: 4 stars Fish tacos, grilled: traditional Mexican style with 2 soft corn tortillas each, filled with a mix of fishes and shrimp, shredded cabbage, and a mild pico de gallo salsa. The tortillas were sturdy enough that I only needed one per taco. The filling was tasty: 4 stars Scallops plate: 6 medium scallops deep fried to brown in a cornmeal batter I think– very good! 5 stars.(although I would have preferred grilled) Catfish grilled cajun style: tender, fresh catfish cooked perfectly. The cajun seasoning was mild, almost not qualifying as cajun. 4.5 stars. The sides options with your plate are a chicken stock rice, fries, fruity coleslaw, and sour dough bread. The coleslaw was unusual with the pineapple and goldenraisins, otherwise the sides were between meh and alright We had a satisfying meal and a pleasant visit. I’d go back again to try the clam chowder and the shrimp & scallop kebobs.

Wooohooo! There’s a new fish place in town! In fact, I think this is the only fish place in town. They’ve been open less than a week. Here’s my experience: They are a walk up to the counter and place an order kind of place. Reminds me of california fish grill or malibu fish grill. What’s different here though is they put the fresh fish out on display behind glass when you order, so you can actually pick what you want and see the quality. And then they come take it right out of behind the glass and right onto the grill. I tried their cajun style salmon with rice and cole slaw and a piece of bread for $ 8.95. Great deal. Super fresh fish. Loved it! What really made the fish plate cool was when I took a bite of the unsuspecting looking bread. It’s sourdough bread and it is so damn good. I’ve got my eye on lots of other items like their fish tacos and clam chowder. Bummer they do not have unsweet iced tea. The seating area is pretty small too — but they’ve got a good thing going here, I cannot wait to come back. Hours are 11AM-8PM, M-Saturday
