Philly’s Best

Their sandwiches are pretty good. The fries? Not so much. Service was ok. If you want a quick bite, good place to stop.

The food here is so good! We ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and the Mayfair salad. Everything was delicious! The only downside is that the ranch is in an extremely small container and if you want extra, they charge you $ 0.50 cents; kind of lame!
Other than that… service and food is awesome!

Now I’ve been to Philadelphia to try both those cheese steak places that are always on the travel channel and I have to say I prefer Phillys Best. I like the cheese steak hoagie that comes with lettuce and tomato yum! I ate mine before I could take a picture lol, cheese fries are good too. I highly recommend this place.

Our kids were hungry for lunch and we were at navy federal next door so we decided to just eat here. I ordered the philly steak, my husband got the pepperoni philly steak and the kids got cheeseburgers and chicken fingers. I wasnt really impressed with my steak sandwhich because a. ive had WAY better and b. there was hair mixed in with the cheese and onions. my husband brought it up to the chef (who had no hair) and the lady who cut the sandwhiches and took our order who said «i just dyed my hair black». They were nice and offered to make us another one but we politely declined. We also heard a little arguement between the chef and cashier which i thought was funny so thats why i gave it 2 stars… free entertainment. I wouldnt come back. Ive had better cheesesteak sandwhiches with no hair on the side thaaanks

My husband said its one of the best philly steaks he’s ever had. My ham and cheese hoagie was great. Definitely recommend!

Omg… Yumm in your mouth! Delicious cheesesteaks! The rolls make it so good This is eastcoast style… and I love getting my east snacks like tastycakes here. My Bf loves this place and is so jealous when I go without him. He lives in LA and loves coming to the OC to get some with me. Fries are bomb, pickle bar is also cool. He says the peppers make it so good .” GOTS TO Have the peppers!” .The service is the best,.always fast & with a smile ;-)

The workers at this location are the key! They are prompt, courteous, and always smiling, and It’s very refreshing. Besides that Phillys Best is always delicious, and always hits the spot! I’m on a diet and this place is my weakness. Writing this review is making me crave a sandwich.

Been going to the Fountain Valley, CA location since they opened. Never had a greasy sandwich, I don’t even see how that can happen with the way the food is made. All of the ingredients are authentic and from Philadelphia. I never saw an employee handing unwrapped food that was also handling the money.

The worst Philly cheese steak I ever taste and burnt onion rings. Over cooked onions and liquidity cheese does not make the best Philly cheesesteak. This is the first time I wrote a comment. I don’t usually comment even if its bad but this is bad bad. I bought two large Philly cheesesteak and onion rings but I ate two bites and throw it away. Hopefully all their other sandwiches are better.

The staff was friendly. But a worker was smoking in front of the building wearing the sanitary gloves Then proceeded to walk in the store and take my order with the same gloves! Didn’t wash hands at any point After that she started wiping the food baskets! With the same gloves! Disgusting. The other two employees said nothing. I wonder how unsanitary this place really is if you can put your cigarette smoke hands all over the food baskets and counter.

This time I am trying a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Took a little long but worth the wait. As always huge sandwich comes out piping hot. Really nice flavored and not too heavy. What makes a sandwich are the rolls and this hoagie is delicious. Need lots of napkins and a huge appetite. Another great experience.

I have been going here for years; at one time I was going almost three times a week and only regretted the increased number on the scale.
The food is great, the soda is flown in from Philly and you know it’s the real deal when they use provolone and not that nasty nacho cheese garbage.
I love this place and thank you for making me fat. It was worth it.

I’m not going to lie, I was sorely disappointed this visit. After paying and while waiting for my meal they let me know they were out of grilled onions and it would be at least a 15 minute wait for them. He said he could throw on raw onions so I said okay. The sandwich tasted okay but for me the grilled onions really make the sandwich so I missed out. However, the straw that broke the camels back is that when getting home and opening my bag they had not put the cheese in with my cheese fries. So for a $ 14 meal I had a sandwich with no grilled onions and cheese fries with no cheese. Absolute fail Philly’s Best.

I go to the one on Long Beach more since I live there but this was not a disappointment either. I go grab a cheesesteak about once every two months because it’s such a continuous consistent craving! The set up is very sport-​y and home-​y if I should put it that way. Good place to watch a game quietly, I’ve never seen anyone get overly rowdy there lol. The service is great. I’m usually rung up by a young person like myself in their 20’s or so. The fries are so good! And the original philly cheese steaks. my goodness. Creamy cheese and warmed to perfection. Highly recommend! :-)

3 Stars for the food, which was pretty good.
–2 stars for the shitty service. 10 out if 10 times i come in there’s never a «Hi! How are you?». Many times they straight up ignore and I had to get THEIR attention. The fuck?

I’ve always wanted to try a Philly cheesesteak, and this steak I had from Philly’s Best is spot on as far as what I asked for. A Philly’s cheesesteak with Wiz sauce and fried onions, no cheese slices on my sandwich. The cheese wiz sauce took some getting used to for my taste buds, but all in all, this was a pretty damn good sandwich «outside Philly.» :P The bread was piping hot, and the meat wasn’t chewy at all. The only downside was that there was a little TOO much cheese sauce I needed on my cheese wiz. All in all, a GREAT sandwich, like I said.
Could this beat Subway in terms of quality? Yes. Togo’s? Definitely. Jersey Mike’s? I’ll draw the line on that one. :) I’m returning — If they promise me to take it easy on the cheese wiz. :)

I’m from the East Coast… and let me say… this place is awesome… It’s East coast meets West Coast… Boy…their philly cheese steak sandwich are legit… You must get it with grilled onions… Yummy…The guys at the counter are super cool… and very friendly… Highly recommend this place…

This place is so fucking great.
Awesome food (sandwiches and fries) is all your need for a meal.

4.5 stars. Been coming here for the past 8 years on and off and this is one of the best places around to get a nice delicious cheese steak. The Philly’s Best with grilled onions is a must try for those who have never been here. They also got pickles and chilli on the side that goes well with your hoagie too. For those who want something different, you can order a variety of subs or even custom/​build your own sub. I love the way they get the cheese to melt and it never gets old. Definitely recommend this place to everyone.
The downside probably the lack of seating during lunch time and the rare incidents that the bread was not heated enough and is a bit chewy (happened only twice out of 8 years for me). Overall you just can’t really go wrong picking this place.

I have been coming to Philly’s Best for over 10 years and I always order the same thing. THE CHEESE STEAK!
Of course I put my own spin on it. I have never seen anyone else order it like i do but now that I’m putting up this review people might start to copy me.
I order the cheese steak but with Genoa salami diced up and blending in with the top sirloin. I added grilled onions and Cheese wiz.
Such a great combo. I will attach a picture.
