I had never tried a sushi burrito but thought would give it a shot since it combines my 2 favorite cuisines. I have no regrets! Samurai is sort of similar to Chipotle in the sense that you can choose whatever ingredients you’d like in your sushi burrito, making it specific to your liking. I would definitely come back + have been telling all my friends about it. PS– the mini samurai nachos are a must try too, but I recommend splitting it with a friend

This review is mainly for people with allergies. I have lots and lots of allergies, and I have almost died so many time because people have cross contaminate things even after I explain to them how severe it is. I used to be skeptical about coming to Samurai Burrito but I was told so many times that this place was great and it sucked because I was allergic to seafood. Finally, after months of my friends raving I went with them to get their food. I was surprised to find there were things that wasn’t seafood. I was even more surprised because they actually don’t cross contaminate when you tell them that you are allergic. It was nice how this is my second time and I was actually cared for. I am not sure about who the first person who made my burrito couple months ago, but I went yesterday and I think Tiana(not sure the name, just some really happy asian girl) was the one who made my burrito and as I was watching her from a distance. I saw how careful she was to make sure nothing was cross contaminated even though I wasn’t all over her shoulder. It was literally made out of love. LOL. I just wanted to make sure for those people who are allergic to seafood but still love sushi, this is a good place for you. They are able to accommodate with you and you can build your own burrito, bowl or salad. This is a place to try at least once.

This place is awesome, the owner is a really nice dude that had a vision and made it a reality. One my favorite places to come. Customize your own sushi burrito or poke nachos.

I called for a pick up. The girl on the phone told my sister that they don’t take phone order anymore since they started taking order from an app, I think? But the girl said this time is an exception. Thank you. So I ordered the samurai nachos and geisha burrito with pink soy paper. Ugh, the samurai nachos was HUGE! They give a lot of imitation crab and tune on the nachos. The geisha burrito was good also. We were full and satisfied. I was glad I called first though because when I arrived(which was 15 mins after I placed the order), I had to wait for another 15 mins while there was no one in there.

Came here because my bf saw a picture of a sushi burrito on 9gag and decided he wanted one…*eyeroll* The location was a little hard to find and it’s in an unusual plaza that kinda looks like a ghost town except for a few restaurants. We were greeted promptly and were told to ask them if we had any questions. My bf got the Ninja and I opted for the Geisha(w rice because I need my rice). It was made pretty quickly and they look small but it was filling(for me, not so much my bf). I thought it was pretty good although the sauce was a little overwhelming and mayo-y but I added sriracha which made it taste a lot better in my opinion. My bf liked his wrap too. You had 5 options of wrap to choose from but we just went basic w the seaweed. Overall it was an interesting experience and I would come back if I were craving a sushi burrito but I’d rather go to other places for things like poke(I don’t think I would like to try their poke).

Great food! I loved my geisha burrito, and my bf got the daruma on fire burrito. Both were deeeelicious in their own right. But if y’all would wipe your tables and chairs as often as you guys stood around and talked, that’d be cool. Haven’t walked into a relatively empty place before to wipe our own table.

Awesome fun concept, shitty sub-par ingredients. Like a Chipotle, but for sushi. Ingredients include your typical crab meat, cucumber, avocado, sesame seeds, spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore, shrimp tempura, even grilled chicken. The raw fish ingredients are no bueno… I’ve tried a burrito with the grilled chicken in it and, although it’s not bad, it’s missing that Umami flavor that people typically crave when they’re craving sushi. If you’re a sushi(roll) lover and a fan of American style«sushi» drowning in sauces and heavy flavors, this place is for you. A little over-the-top, but I guess that’s what you get for ordering a giant sushi roll on steroids. When they call your name, the sushi-burrito does not look large at first and you may consider ordering some of those Poke nachos everyone else is getting, but trust me, it is always filling. They also tend to fall apart towards the end, but it doesn’t bother me. The place has no curb appeal(just like the plaza it sits in) and resembles more of a boba shop than a sushi restaurant. For drinks they have Ramune soda which I love! Ingredients are visible from a glass window(like Chipotle) and you can see they’re not that fresh. But hey! You didn’t come here for a healthy meal you came here for a tasty one.

Not a fan of a GIANTSUSHIROLL!!! There’s just something fun about picking up a single roll of sushi vs. holding a giant sushi roll(Aka: Sushirito). Came here due to peer pressure from some aggressive lil munchkins. Not listening to these munchkins again when it comes to Sushi. Our Order: 01. Samurai Rising Sun $ 4.50(Kids Size) — 3 Stars — Would’ve given this a 2 Star but the kiddos got Hi-Chew so that got the round up. The Avocados were fresh since we watched them sliced it open. Can’t say the same thing for the fish, smelled FISHY to me. No Bueno for the kiddos. It’s a great portion for the kiddos but it smelled BAD. 02. Samurai Super Nachos $ 11.95 — 2 Stars King Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Eel, Masago, Crab Mix, Sliced Onions and Green Onions with Shibu-Ya House Sauce, Kickin Rooster Sauce and Furikake on top of Crispy Wonton Chips. — What a Samurai MESS. The Wonton Chips were oily and not so cripsy. For $ 11.95, it was not worth that towering mess. The Salmon was very fishy and the Spicy Tuna had no spicy in it. I would not ever order this again. Too oily and too rich for my taste. 03. Poke Bowl(Photo didn’t upload, lost in LALA Land) $ 10.95÷5 Scoops — 2.5 Stars Served with White or Brown Rice with Crab Mix. — Again, bowl was small and not enough Poke. I’ve definitely had better just around the corner at Sushi Plus and it’s only $ 9 with a huge bowl that is FRESH and so tasty. I will be POKING more at Sushi Plus. I don’t know why but I really feel Ebisu and this place is seriously dropping the ball. Lately my visits at Ebisu shows signs of going downhill and this place is no different. Really not worth the money when we have so many other Japanese choices in the same and surrounding cities. I really wanted to like this concept but I’ll just stick to the traditional sushi houses. The«Sushirito» was definitely a catchy concept but it does take away from all of the fun Sushi brings to a visit. The«OG» way is always the BEST!

I finally got my sushirito! After seeing multiple friends come to Cali and get one, I knew that I had to try it and see what all the hype was about. Read some reviews but ultimately ended up asking the workers what are the most popular ones. No surprise when they told me the 3 most expensive ones were the most popular(they did sound delicious though). Unfortunately I forgot which one I ordered and I can’t find their menu online, but what I remember is that my burrito had way too much crab meat. And the dumb part about it was that when I was reading reviews, a few said that they should have asked for less crab meat. I thought to myself, that’s so stupid, you can never have too much crab meat. Found out the hard way, yes you can have too much crab meat… Anyway, I ended up throwing away a good chunk of crab meat, both on my burrito and with the wife’s nachos. She got the little nachos, and it’s one of those things that when you order, you’re like ‘this is amazing’ but then when you get halfway into it, you’re just like ‘why am I still eating this?’ It just lost it’s hype halfway through. So yea, we just ate the good parts and left the crab meat for the trash. Overall it’s a fine place, would probably give it a try again if I’m ever in the area again.

Had lunch with my girlfriend here and it was not worth it. The idea of a burrito and sushi together was interesting. However, if you like rice and crab mix, this is your restaurant. Staff was friendly and suggested us to try the«Daruma on Fire» and it was just full of rice and crab mix. Could not taste the spicy tuna or the shrimp tempura. The portion size are huge and can be shared with two people. I would stick to normal sushi than a burrito.

I drove all the way out to Fountain Valley just because of the allure of the term«sushi burrito». Needless to say, I was very impressed. I ordered what I believe was the spicy ichiban? It was absolutely delicious! You also have the option to fully customize your burrito which is great if you are a regular visitor and wanna create your own sushi burrito masterpiece. The restaurant itself was spotless. The staff was super friendly and the guy who took my order even gave me a cheaper place next door to buy the same canned drink that they sold at the restaurant. If this place was like 10 – 15 minutes or away from my house, you best believe I would be going there on a regular basis!

I don’t even know where to start! It was all SO good. First time here and they were very patient and helped us ordering. Gave us some tips and ideas on what to try. Had the nachos, ramen tacos, and burrito. It was all SO good. The portions were huge! We had leftovers and it was still good later. I have already recommended this place to a few people! The only drawback was the music was incredibly loud but we sat outside and it was fine. Definitely plan on going back, multiple times.

What’s up my Ninja?! Is what Taco would say from The League when he wrote a song about his samurai sword. My question for you is have you had Mexican food or have you had Japanese food? Forget what you think you might know because it’s going down and I’m yelling Timber! Oh and there is a food truck parked outside? Now, you are speaking my language. Oh that’s cute a burrito made from sushi ingredients and served from a sushi bar food truck. What the deuce? Crispy Nachos?! You had me at Nachos. I love me some nachos but Carne asada can get so boring and with fries it just doesn’t make sense but throw some tuna on crispy chips and you have drunk food gold. Gosh I truly love those nachos. The burrito was aiight the nachos are legit. The food truck needs to come by more often. I was able to find the actual location in fountain valley but it’s not exactly on the way to anywhere unless you live in the area. I guess it’s near Afters but they are building a location in Irvine. Please Samurai burrito come here also! I will go to the actual location some day. I hope they sell booze because it will be a good time. Recommended.

The concept is interesting and with some fine tuning I could see an establishment like this being a hit. That being said, it as an abnormally hot day and it was really strange that a place selling raw fish would have poor air conditioning. My friends and I got a burrito, poke salad, and poke nachos. The poke nachos were good, mostly because the chips were made of a fried wonton. They’re much better than the tortilla chips used at pokenometry. Most of the items come with A LOT of crab(filler). The burrito was pretty small and the«yellowtail» was purple? I’m not sure if that’s normal but my insides didn’t hate me too much after(guessing it was ok). Worth a try but not sure I would go out of my way for it again.

Sushi burrito sounded like a great idea, and I’ve had a delicious and fresh sushi burrito elsewhere before so I thought I’d come and try this place out. I was here with my family of 6, and we ordered 4 burritos, 1 super nachos, and 1 poke bowl. We probably could’ve done without 1 – 2 items since it was all super filling. Everything was tasty, but definitely a bit on the salty side(too much sauce added to everything). My family shared everything we got — even though we tried to order a variety of things/fillings, it all tasted pretty much the same to us. Everything seemed overpowered by crab/mayo mix and/or spicy tuna mix(especially the nachos which were definitely overpowered by sauce and crab mix). Also, one thing that turned me away from this place was right when I stepped foot inside the place and glanced at the menu… the menu is waayyy too extensive and too many words — making it extremely confusing.

It’s like a huge hand roll. I tried their burritos while at 626 Night Market and didn’t realize that they had a restaurant in Fountain Valley. My co-worker and I stumbled upon the restaurant location on accident. We originally were going to go to get chicken burritos but I told her to STOP! and we headed over to get a different type of burrito. The sushi burritos are fairly large and the fish is fresh. It’s pretty good. It was my co-worker’s first time and she thought it was pretty good as well. I got the ninja burrito, which is good. You can pick what type of wrapping you’d like for your sushi burrito. The restaurant is small and the staff is friendly. A good place for lunch!

The burritos are indeed kind of small, but the quality makes up for it. I really enjoyed my poke bowl. I had white rice, with king salmon, ahi tuna, and yellowtail, masago, cucumber, spicy poke sauce and jalapeños! The poke bowl is quite larger and more substantial than the burrito, if you’re looking for size. Also, they have those fancy digital soda fountains that can make 100’s of combinations. I’ll be back for lunch! :)

Is there anything that isn’t better in burrito form? I guess if you think about it, a sushi roll is pretty much a skinny burrito. And that’s exactly what you get at Samurai Burrito. I was worried that it was going to be a total carb bomb with rice wrapped in a tortilla(which also sounds kind of gross). But I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually a fairly thin layer of rice with crab mix and a nori wrap(just like regular sushi). The crab mix was just like the stuff in a California roll and you have your pick of filling ranging from teriyaki to shrimp tempura to ahi. I picked the pre-made Yokozuna Madness burrito with chicken karaage. Yum! The real star though were the nachos — so amazing with crispy wonton chips, spicy tuna, eel, masago and a bunch of other stuff(don’t worry, no cheese though!). Samurai Burrito was pretty busy on the day I came and it took about 10 – 15 minutes to get our food. If you’re up for some non-traditional Japanese/sushi, I would definitely check them out.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while and this place didnt disappoint simutaneously could have done better. I ordered a customized roll and my gf got the Daruma Roll which is a preset roll. The preset roll, which included shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, rice, and many other topping was perfect. It was nice, thick and photogenic. It is the reason to go to this place. My roll on the other hand had its kinks. The customized roll i made included king salmon, white rice, tuna, avocado, onion, garlic chips, crab mix and a spicy mayo. The burrito also was photogenic, but the bite into it was not impressive as much as it was a little stumble in the mouth. The garlic chips were overdone and very sticky that it stuck to my mouth that I hardly was able to continue eating unless i got it out of my teeth. i ended getting used to the garlic chips and the burrito was overall satisfying. the spicy mayo sauce that was was recommended could have been stronger. i didnt taste much of it. i overall had a better burrito experience from jogasaki burrito truck, but the Daruma burrito that my gf ordered was delicious and worth the ticket for repeat customer.
