Let me first start out by saying that I love fairs. I love the atmosphere of fairs where families can spend time OUTDOORS and see some sun. Some families brought their dogs around, so it was really had summer-type feel.(Well, it is summer, so… -.-) Ordered carne asada fries that came with a fresh pineapple drink. I didn’t note what the stand was called but the ladies were really nice and polite. The carne asada fries was decent. I’m gonna say that because I’m a fan of asada fries and i’ve tried them at places that really specialized in making them. That same stand was also making some diirrrrrtyyyyy dogs! Probably the one thing that made me give this a 4-star was the man that was singing. He gave this little fair a different vibe. I didn’t catch this gentleman’s name, but he’s the man that was performing at the very corner of the fair where the food trucks where. That man is a talent – he really deserves a mention! Lastly, most of the stands and food trucks accept cards, for those who never carry cash around, anymore! :)

I went to the Farmers Market and there were no farmers. It was prime summer park party atmosphere. There was a band on stage with at least 1,000 people sitting on the lawn on their blankets and lawn chairs with their picnic baskets. Families, seniors, kids, all ages, all races, a very community and family friendly gathering. There were about five food trucks. There were some jewelry and clothing stands. People selling nuts, jams, coffee, shaved iced. The only reason I came was for fruit and produce. I walked through the 50 or so stands on the upper grass and lower parking lot and found none. Zip, zero, nada. No fruit stands at all. How can you call it a Certified Farmers Market if I can’t buy a peach or avocados or cherries? No apples, no mushrooms, no pluots? I read the past reviews and there were good reviews about the fresh fruit. What happened in one year between 2014 and 2015, did all the farm and fruit vendors pulled out? If you are coming during the summer for their Thursday concert series, you’ll have a good time. Parking is hellacious, but it is free inside and outside the park. If you arrive a little later you will have to park somewhere along Brookhurst. Your kids can run on the grass while you sit and chill out to the jams. You can grab a taco or burrito from Dos Chinos or a crêpe from one of the other food trucks but if you’re looking for some farm to table produce to do your own French Laundry thing in the 92708, this is not the place. I came here looking for a farmer and came up empty. I better head on over to the FarmersOnly dating site. I think I’ll have a better chance of finding some fresh peaches there.

We found out there is a Farmer’s Market in Fountain Valley every Thursday night so we decided to go down and check it out. I’ve been to the HB Farmer’s Market and I like it. A good variety of vendors and some great food as well. This one in FV I think is kind of new. They didn’t have much in terms of vendors. Located off of Brookhurst in Mile Square Park, the vendors are limited but they do have some good produce. There are a couple of food trucks which was good and pony rides. Overall, this has the potential to be larger and grow like the one in HB.

We like it here. Enough things to see-buy in a 30mins to max 1 hour. Then we can stroll the rest of the park. This place is very convenient. It’s inside miles square park with playground plenty of other park relax activity to do after visiting the market. Some entertainment. Musical instrument playing people selling CDs. Decent farmer market for Thursday night. Spacious!

FINALLY A FARMERSMARKETNEARME! I’ve always had to go far(Main street HB, HB pier, etc). But now it’s right in my corner. Produce is great. Food trucks are great. I always come for honey, kale, and eggs. Perfect for my paleo lifestyle.

Fountain Valley finally has an outdoor event that I can participate in and actually enjoy! The fruits in the market are very fresh and have been in great shape, minimal damage/bruising and my favorite part, NOFLIES! I hate coming to market places where there are flies buzzing all around. Parking during the summer time will definitely be difficult as they have Concerts in the Park running, however, it’s worth the search. I particularly like the stand that seems to be biggest with all the fruit samples. $ 4/lb of mix and match fruits!

This area has been sorely lacking a farmers market and we finally have one! Every Thursday night, the Mile Square Park parking lot on the Brookhurst side turns into a really nice farmers market. There are many fruit/vegetable vendors, shops selling shoes/clothes/jewelry, and food trucks! Come check it out because they are doing it on a trial basis for the next two months to see if it will stick around.
