Was out for a drive one sunny Saturday and decided to come out here and check out the beach and pier. The beach is small and quiet, a great place to just relax. The pier on the other hand, had a few people fishing/drinking and wasn’t quiet at all. I’ve never fished from here but the pier is no place to come relax, at least it wasn’t that day. It does have some great views of the Narrows though and the attached park is nice with plenty of parking.

I visited the«Fox Island Fishing Pier» in Fox Island, WA on 8÷20÷2012. It was my first time there. It is also a park. A sign there says that the park opens 1 hour before dawn an closes 1 hour after dusk. I walked out to the pier via some steps but a ramp is available for those in wheelchairs. Restrooms are available in the park. Great view of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and Puget Sound. A beautiful location.

Beautiful public park and fishing pier at the end of Fox Island! This is the site of the old ‘concrete dock’ which was once a ferry terminal prior to construction of the Fox Island Bridge. Fantastic views of Puget Sound, the Narrows Bridges, University Place, and some of the South Sound Islands from here. Plenty of salmon and crab(and dogfish, bullhead, sea stars, octopus, etc.) can be caught– bring your gear and your license. If you follow the road to the very end of Fox Island you’ll eventually arrive at the parking lot for the Fox Island Fishing Pier(I think the parking fee is $ 1?). The park is 5.5 acres and includes the parking lot, restrooms, a grassy area, a gravel beach, and of course the namesake pier. A series of stairs or a long curving handicap-accessible path will lead you down to the pier, which has several benches and fish-cleaning trays. Another gravel path along the side of the park goes directly to the beach below the pier. Great little park!
