Diosa is the Spanish word for«Goddess», and Diosa Dance helps to bring out the Goddess within you. I recently moved just a short 5 minute walk to Diosa and I couldn’t be any happier that I joined. I have always tried to incorporate exercise and fitness into my life but always struggled to keep consistency. Going on treadmills and other cardio equipment was too boring, the weight room was too daunting, classes at the gym seemed more like a competition than a class and I always just felt like another face in the crowd. I started going to a personal trainer and while I enjoyed it, it just got to be too expensive and even that lost its spark and became dull after a while. I was looking around for a new place to go and since I discovered that Diosa was literally around the corner from my new apartment, I decided to give it a shot, seeing how they offered a lot of really fun and interesting classes. From the very first couple of classes I had taken, I instantly knew that I had found my utopia. The studio is small and intimate and you can feel the positive vibes as soon as you step inside. It is a very clean and relaxing atmosphere. But perhaps the highlight of Diosa is the owner and primary instructor Paulina. She is just an absolutely amazing person and the passion and confidence she exudes in her classes is infectious. She teaches the majority of the classes there and excels as an instructor. I primarily take the pole dance and belly dance classes taught by her and what I really love is the fact that she doesn’t just teach you straight up, rigid dance moves, but instead she teaches you a whole flowing routine so that you can learn and perfect it. The more practice you get and the more comfortable you feel, she will add on to the routine or start you working on a whole new one. Goodbye boring workouts! Since she keeps the classes fairly small too, you get way more personal attention than you would in any other typical mass of people that some gym classes tend to be. And yes, she will definitely let you know if you are doing something wrong and help correct you, but it’s only because she wants you to do well. It also doesn’t matter what your level or abilites are, because she will work with you and doesn’t expect you to always do things perfectly, all while encouraging you and giving you the confidence in yourself that you WILL be able to do something difficult with time and practice. She is just the best and Paulina is not only my instructor, but I now consider her my friend. In some other classes that I have taken elsewhere, I used to constantly look at the clock, counting down the minutes until it was over, because exercise became a chore that had to be endured. Now, I completely lose track of time and if I look at the clock now, it’s because I don’t want the class to end! What also makes Diosa such a great place are the other people who go there. Because it’s a smaller studio vs the mega gyms that I used to go to, you really get to know the other people in your classes. Everyone I’ve met has been so supportive and encouraging, mimicking the great support that Paulina already delivers. It’s a whole community within itself and I have met and become friends with some really cool people! Yes, Diosa is a place to go to exercise but it has become much more than that to me. It’s become a comfortable and positive place where I can celebrate the movement of my body and the expression of my soul. Pole dance in particular has given me such a self esteem booster and confidence that I don’t think I would have been able to achieve in any other way. I honestly cannot imagine NOT going to Diosa because I just enjoy it so much and am officially hooked. In the past, I’d use every excuse in the book to not work out, but now I make the classes I go to a PRIORITY! I can’t wait to try some of the other classes! So, if you want to feel empowered, build your confidence, give yourself a self esteem boost, feel graceful, learn from the best, and most of all have FUN in a safe and non-judgmental environment, do yourself a favor and sign up for a class at Diosa!!! Trust me, you will NOT regret it!

Fun classes where you don’t feel like it is exercise. I believe in exercise but I really don’t like to make the commitment. Coming here and enjoying several different classes makes it more fun because I can do something different each time. Come on in and try it, you’ll be glad you did.

What separates Diosa from the others is Paulina. Carrying a work ethic and energy that is unsurpassed, Ms Ramirez knows how to communicate with students of all levels and ages and has an innate ability to teach. I was fortunate enough to know Paulina from our experiences in Dancing but she has taken a passion for healthy living to a new level with Diosa. I was able to attend her anniversary party a few months ago and to watch her students perform(from the very young to the adult) they wowed the crowd. This place, Diosa, is defnitely a keeper. Want to learn from the best? Call Diosa.

Diosa is such a beautiful studio. The walls are filled with huge windows and sunlight pours in. It’s bright and peaceful. The owner, Paulina, is wonderful with a loving and calming spirit. I take her yoga for stretch & flexibility and vinyasa vixens classes on Sundays and they’re amazing. I’ve been dancing with Paulina as an instructor for almost a year now and she is totally wonderful. I can’t wait for my schedule to clear up so I can try more classes at Diosa!

I came to Diosa after receiving it’s newsletter for several months. The owner was offering a great package to get ready for bikini season, and it involved attending the Ballet Barre class, which I love. Paulina contacted me right away, and I have been attending classes on a daily basis. The studio is easy to find, clean, and there is a variety of classes at a variety of times. If you are new to ballet barre, or if you’ve tried it before, you’ll definitely want to try this class out. I also recommend Bellylicious, Hoop, Zumba, and all of the Yoga classes. Check it out today!!!

I bought a living social voucher for this studio a few months back but have decided to stay well beyond my 10 class voucher. I was interested in doing some yoga but really had little experience. The classes at Diosa are customized as they are challenging but individualized so that every level of experience can participate fully in class. The studio is beautiful, calm, and welcoming. Instructors are simply wonderful. Very observant and attentive. Not only is this a great place for exercise and well-being but also plenty of workshops to support health and wellness beyond the mats. I recommend joining the Diosa community if overall health and wellness are your goals.
