Absolutely FANTASTIC!!! My friends and I go here all the time for Lunch, and stop by for dinner when we are craving a good night out! I have tried a lot of Chinese Restaurants, but this one has them all beat hands down-Totally worth the drive out there. The service is always prompt, sometimes they get busy for lunch but that is just because the food is so good. Dinner gets a little more pricey, but the portions and the quality are well worth it for Lunch or Dinner. You always get enough food, and plenty for leftovers. Their Potstickers are divine, Fried Rice is very tasty, and I highly recommend the Sweet and Sour Chicken, the Honey Walnut Crispy Chicken, Mongolian Beef, or the Kung Pao Beef. If you order it spicy, you will get SPICY. Great for a date or a work lunch, and especially with a big group of friends. We love Sichuan Gourmet!

We were first introduced to this place by a business acquaintance. Whenever we’re in town for work, my boss and I will set up our lunch meetings at Sichuan Gourmet. It’s shockingly good! Every dish is filled with the numbing and spicy flavors of Szechuan. The flavors have been pretty consistent each year we head back. So thumbs up!

It used to be good. They raised the price although the amounts of the foods are smaller than before. The steamed rice is one of the cheapest items. They shouldn’t have charged it. I used to eat a few times per month but not any more. I go there a few times a year now. Based on quality, the price is too high!!!

Great Chinese restaurant in the area, one of the better ones in the metro west. It seemed as though they had actual chinese people working there, unlike a lot of asian cuisines in the area. The food is great. They have spicy dishes and they even have frog! We got the crab rangoon, sweet and sour chicken, greens in white sauce, and the crispy chicken noodle in white sauce instead of brown sauce. Food was great, and it was nice that they were able to make changes and have no soy on a dish. That isn’t typical for chinese restaurants.

Since we are new to the area, we have tried a few Chinese restaurants. This is our favorite so far. The food is fresh and delicious. They are always busy and the staff is attentive. The pork fried rice is so good. We have also tried the chicken wings, chicken fingers, pork lo mien, spring rolls and beef teriyaki. They do not have egg rolls though, just the spring rolls.

Spicy spicy food! Being indian and love spicy food this place is terrific! We always get that fish(Gamgau dry fish) — its fried and has tons of black pepper and red pepper flakes! Although, my stomach burns the next day this food has some serious flavor and is very quickly served! Hit hit

Sichuan Gourmet was packed when we stopped by, luckily we had a reservation and the fact that my better half is a fluent Cantonese speaker certainly didn’t hurt! Upstairs in a small strip mall type building whose parking lot was dangerously crowded with cars coming and going(for both the restaurant and the Asian grocery store below which was still doing a good business at 8:00PM), Sichuan Gourmet offers a menu of traditional spicy cuisine that attracted a diverse crowd. We tried dishes with beef, lamb, duck, noodles and pea sprouts; all were good, but none were outstanding. It was interesting to note that there is a separate charge for a bowl of rice. From the length of the line waiting for a table when we left the place clearly has an enthusiastic following; although we might stop by if we were in the area, we certainly wouldn’t make a special trip to dine here.

I was introduced to Sichuan cuisine in this restaurant and have loved it since then. I visit often for team lunches. I truly enjoy eating their spicy and tasty dishes. There are only a couple of good Sichuan restaurants in Boston area. SG’s prices are at high-end.

I’m a regular of this restaurant, although I don’t live close by. Every time I come back from Boston, I try to stop here. Restaurant is clean, staff is friendly and efficient. In my first visit,(I’m writing this on my 20th) It was particularly interesting to me that the restaurant was full of Asians and Indian customers in a Sunday afternoon. After I ordered, I realized the reason for this particular customer mix; they both love spicy food, and here food is really spicy. The food is extraordinary and mostly low cost. The food is really well plated, and come out of the kitchen fairly fast, even with a full restaurant. Portion are large, and family-style ordering is encouraged. One important detail; most of the plates are too spicy for the average American. If you are an adventurous eater, love authentic(not Americanized) version of spicy Chinese food, and are willing to drink copious amounts of water to help manage the heat, you had arrived to one of the very best of the area. I heard that if you can’t take the heat, they would make accommodations for you, but why? To be fair not every plate is spicy, but in my opinion the best ones are. I tried the fish with basil, spicy concoction of fish filets, basil and, not mentioned anywhere, fresh asparagus and spicy red chili sauce. I also tried the double-cooked bacon(it’s really pork belly, first boiled and then stir fried) with, guest what?: red chili peepers. Excellent! Don’t be skimpy ordering white rice, you will need plenty to help you put off the fiery storm in your mouth. Enjoy!

Love the Sichuan taste here. Tried the Dried chilli chicken, a bit too dry for my liking, but the taste was good. Dan dan noodles appetizer is a must-have. Kung pao chicken is unique too, not the standard fare. The menu is huge here and we’ll be going back to try out the others.

This was my first visit here. What we ordered was pretty decent. Nothing was bad and the shrimp dish(salt and pepper) was actually pretty great. However, the service wasn’t terrific. Hard to ask questions and get answers from the waitress and they never came to refill our drinks a single time. I’d really like to give a 3.5 rating but we all know that’s not possible. I rounded down. I’d love to go back and try a bunch of different things from the menu.

i’ll preface by saying that the food is pretty much like every other sichuan gourmet restaurant, aka good enough to envoke a cult following. every similar sichuan restaurant i’ve been to has basically the same menu and are all equally tasty. this review is about the service. SG used to be my office’s go-to for quick and easy chinese food lunch; however, during my past 3 trips, the staff has completely forgotten about our table. We almost always order the lunch special(dish, rice, small app, and soup), and they bring out the soup almost immediately. However, after that was brought to our table, the staff would completely forget about the rest of our order. We had to approach both the waitresses and the manager multiple times to remind them that we hadn’t gotten our food yet. Most recently, we waited more than 45 minutes for our food after reminding the staff twice and they even brought our check before we had even gotten anything to eat. Another time, not only was the food incredibly late, but every single order had something missing and/or wrong. Instead of apologizing and bringing us the correct item, the waitress just took the dish away(most likely to serve to another patron with the same order, very uncouth) and brought back a messily put together dish in return. Furthermore, even though we’ve spoken to the manager multiple times about forgotten orders, all we’ve gotten in return is a measly apology and NO discount/compensation. the communication between the waitstaff and the kitchen(and even among the waiters) seems to be very disorganized and nearly nonexistent. very disappointing.

I came here after searching for a Chinese buffet. No buffet(thanks, Unilocal!). That being said the food was very good, although the portions weren’t as big as hoped for the price. I can say that I was the only person in the restaurant who appeared to be of Occidental descent, which I took as a good sign!

This is my go to place for sichuan food. I always order the same two dishes: Roast beef, tendon, tripe with chili sauce– This is a must order appetizer for me. If you like spicy food, you will like this dish! Its got more than a kick to it, the more you eat, the spicier it gets. double cooked bacon– this is such a guilty pleasure. Its really greasy because essentially they blanch the pork belly, then fry it up so its nice and crispy. AMAZING. you cannot go here and not order this dish. Eat it with a side of rice, as the dish can be salty. But to be fair, it is meant to be eaten with rice! honorable mentions: wonton with chili sauce– this dish isn’t that spicy even though it is in chili sauce. I really like the balance of the tart sauce(not sure what it is, taste kind of like ponzu?) and the spicy oil they used. spicy fried chicken wings– crispy and spicy. worth trying! cumin lamb– personally I don’t like anything cumin, but the sichuan people I come here with swear by its authenticity. Definitely try it if you want to try something new. others: bamboo shoots with spicy sauce– this dish is actually better at their brookline location, so I would not order it here. beef noodle soup– I thought the soup was bland, so this is personally not something I would order again. The service is good. The food comes out quick. It is usually packed during prime lunch and dinner time, so plan accordingly.

The menu should have some photos or explaining what it is the food. At lunch the plates are a little different and I think it tastes better.

Not your typical suburban Chinese restaurant. Definitely our favorite in the area. They have a wide assortment of dishes that you won’t find elsewhere. Some of our favorites: Appetizers: Sichuan Wonton w. Spicy Chili Sauce, Fresh Bamboo Shoots w. Special Sesame Oil Sauce(or the Spicy Wonder Sauce), Spicy Chinese Wood Ears Mushroom. Entrees: House Special Flavored Duck(With Bone), Rainbow Chicken, Baby Green Top w. Black Mushroom. Only downsides are the parking(lot can get full) and the wait sometimes.

This restaurant is awesome and well above expectations. Very good, very tasty, authentic Chinese food and very friendly restaurant. We ordered:(1) Dan Dan Noodles,(2) Wonton with Chili Sauce, and(3) Lunch Special L-4(Kung Bao Chichen). All food very well prepared and services are good and fast.

Hands down the BEST Chinese food I’ve had in years! Everything was made fresh and was hot when I picked it up for take-out on a Friday night. The place was packed with patrons and there were 5 other bags waiting for pickup up which indicated to me that people love this place! Had the chengdu spicy dumplings which were delish, flavorful and they even smelled amazing! Crab rangoons had the perfect amount of filling! General Tsos chicken was fried in the perfect amount of batter with real chunks of chicken! And the Kung Pao Beef was amazing! Can’t wait to have it again and try other dishes!

Quick service and spicy food. Ordered Lunch special menu L29– sautéed fish filets with basil. Comes with fried rice and veg spring roll combo. The fish when had with fried rice kind of reduced the spice level. The combo comes with egg soup which is not great. The service is good and fast too. This place gets grounded during noon.
