Great food gotta say, it’s really good, great prices too. The ONLY bad thing is that one ugly and rude Puerto Rican waitress, she seems to be their main/head waitress and she’s such a bitch everytime she serves my family, she’s so rude. It makes me not want to come sometimes but the foods good and the prices are too, make sure you don’t get served by the Hispanic older looking waitress with glasses!!!

This place has great food !!! There breakfast menu has many options to cater to all palettes! The country breakfast is amazing ! There biscuits are homemade and really have that right out of grandmas kitchen taste, their country gravy is out of this world ! If your a biscuits and gravy fan this is the place for you! Another great thing they have are there soups! One of the best places for soups! There prices are a little above other breakfast diners but it’s worth it! Only downfall is the service, very slow and zombie like! They drop off the food and never come back, your lucky if you get a refill! These ladies need a red bull or two! Other than that great food!

Food is awesome. Quite possibly the best biscuits and gravy around. The soup is even better. Chicken soup is incredible. The service is ok. Some better then others but one lady is busy on the phone all the time. Been here a bunch and she’s on it every time. Usually after serving your food you don’t see them till they bring the check when your done. That’s a no-no for me. The ambiance is very cozy and feels like going to grandma’s. Overall this place is A-1!!!

Classic diner food. If that’s what you want, go for it! I had the nutty pancakes, which were nothing to write home about. My boyfriend had the avocado Benedict, which he enjoyed. The waitresses were very nice when I returned a glass that had lipstick and when I requested crunchier hash browns.

My wife and I like to try non-chain restaurants. We were far from home, driving north on Mannheim Road and looking for a late breakfast, when the cow themed paint job on the outside of Lulu Belle’s Pancake House caught our eye. We were very happy with the ambience, as it’s just what you want in a breakfast place, lots of hustle and bustle, friendly wait staff and best of all, really good food. We split the veggie«Potato Sack,» which came with two pancakes on the side. The owner’s wife greeted us so nicely on the way in and on the way out. We will definitely go out of our way to eat here again!

There were little baskets on the table for the creamer with MOLD all over then, the waitress didn’t listen when we ordered and brought us items different from what we wanted. Never going back.

I’m a flight attendant. My taste it’s supporting ‘locals’ and this ‘home warming’ feeling restaurants, like you’re stuck in time… this is what the fabulous dinner makes to me. Serve breakfast ALL day but close at 3:00 pm. Most holidays opens sometimes closing earlier. Diversified menu monthly specials, so you’ll always be surprised, like pumpkin pancakes for October and Banana Texas French Toast for November… I just enjoy a walk from Quality Inn hotel with my boyfriend who’s a pilot and we do LOVE it. It’s our place! :-)

I’ve only been here once and was not impressed, the food wasn’t anything special, customer service wasn’t that great… My boyfriend ordered the veggie omelette and took two bites and was unimpressed and finished. There are many other places in the area that are a better choice. Next time I’ll know better.

I stopped here for breakfast on my way to the airport. It is quaint, cozy and clean. I am a hash brown lover and extremely happy with the ham & cheese potato stack. It was more like eggs and ham rolled up in a hash brown cocoon but that is ok with me. Yummy! My friend ordered something off their special menu that came with pancakes, french toast, biscuit & gravy, scrambled eggs, and bacon. He said the french toast and the gravy were amazing(he licked the gravy off the biscuit), but everything else was not up to par. I don’t even think he touched the eggs because they looked like a solid yellow rock. He was still full and happy with what he ate. Oh and they brought out these teeny tiny little biscuits covered in sugar glaze when we first sat down. Over all worth every penny in my book. :D

I have been to lulu belle’s a few times now, as it is very conveniently located and I much prefer the home life feel over the gross Denny’s down the road. So, here is my two cents At first I was skeptical because the before they switched owners, changed the name and painted it to look like a cow; I heard rumors that«you don’t want to eat there», but we did anyway and boy is it a cute little mom and pop country farm decorated place! I typically order the gypsy skillet with cheddar instead and every time the veggies etc. Were perfectly cooked, the egg is runny on the inside and the food is hot. My boyfriend gets the potato sack(whatever that is) and enjoys it every time! I especially enjoy the fact that their coffee cups are all random. It’s a cute thing we look forward to each time, even when my boyfriend gets a princess mug ;) The service at times can be a little slow and some of the waitresses could use a little coaching on their customer service and being a little more upbeat instead of the whole«I’m not even supposed to be here today» attitude, which results is our coffee cups barely getting refilled(which is required, as I would prefer an IV of coffee if I had the choice) but I’m not one to bitch and complain so I’ll just go with the flow and haul one down if I get antsy. My recent experience is what has lead me to this review. We came in on a Sunday for a later breakfast and were sat at our table when Brianna(a new waitress) greeted us with a smile. She was very sweet, humble, and on point. We never saw the bottom of our cup, the Food was delivered promptly and hot, we was attentive to our table and generally seemed poised and happy to be there. And as a newer waitress seemed to know the menu pretty darn well.(always a plus). Overly happy with our experience we thanked her and told her we really enjoyed our breakfast and her as a waitress. Surprised, we learned she was still in high school and this was her first job! All I have to say is lulu’s hang on to her and I feel she would be a great candidate to expand into a leadership role down the line. It’s not often these days you meet someone in the service industry that just reeks of potential but as someone who works in customer service/care I can honestly say I’ll look forward to our next visit on a Sunday and I will be requesting Brianna as our server.

Thought I would chime in for old Lulu Belle. Now at one time, this place was an empty dive with lousy food. I would only stop in because it was the only greasy spoon breakfast place between my house and O Hare airport. But I can honestly say, this place is moving the right direction. This place must have a new owner as the lady who greeted us was very outgoing, pleasant, pretty and … married.(Damn, I’m outta luck) She had her kids guide guests to their tables and hand out menu’s which I thought was a nice touch. Menu itself was typical«Chicago Greek Restaurant». Never mind Lulu’s claims about southern style cooking, unless you’re talking wayyyyy south, like Mexico. Interior is a bit scruffy but not too bad, I understand these folks are trying to work their way up. I ordered a simple breakfast of Eggs, Sausage, Toast and Hashed Browns. My lady friend ordered a Greek skillet. Both breakfasts were pretty solid, eggs were done as ordered, over easy. Good hashed browns, good sausage links, decent coffee. Only nitpick I got is the wheat toast, definitely budget brand bread there. I liked the place, I liked the price, and I liked the hot mother manning the cash register. I would have no problem coming back for a meal.

Never again… Food was terrible, service was terrible… It took server long time before we were served and she didn’t let us order what we wanted. Food was really really bad… Uncooked and mushy. If you want your day ruined, than this is a place for you.

Nothing crazy. My two friends and I were hungry so just stopped by somewhere close to his house. Wasn’t busy at all, yet the service seemed to be really slow. I would’ve rather had drive thru breakfast.

Its a nice selection for breakfast compared to any other place around. Its not too far from a plethora of hotels, motels and Inns. Its really close to Ohare airport, so thats nice. All the mugs are different which I thought was adorable. The pancakes are a nice size and not over bearing. I had a veggie skillet which was nice. Its nothing spectacular but its decent. They do offer things like fried french toast and chocolate bacon. so they mix it up a bit.

This place went by a different name, I swear the only thing that changed at all was the name. The one time I went here the menu actually had the old namea on it. Are you serious?!? Lol. The food was meh. Nothing to write home about. Maybe things are better now, but probably not.

FIRST… the prices here are between 15% — 25% more than they should be. SECOND… the food is 25% — 50% shittier than it should be. I was told the fries were VERY good so I decided to try a plain burger. No cheese. Little did I know the plain burger was… REALLY plain. One floppy piece of lettuce. One sad tiny slice of tomato. The meat in the burger was cheap. Full of grizzle. The the bottom bun had funky tasting grease. It came with a tiny little ramekin of warm yellow cole slaw. Then then there were the fries. Cold seasoned fries. These fries were previously frozen and commercial. They were the best thing out of what was put in front of me. All this for $ 7.40 with tax. No drink. Just water. Oh! A bowl of soup was included. They didnt have a choice of soup. It was cream of chicken. There was NOCHICKEN in it! Just a cheap cream soup with over cooked rice in it. I literally had better food in some school cafeterias. The service was fair. NOTHING was fresh. All processed and/or previously frozen food. I want businesses to succeed but honestly I cant think of one reason why this place should continue to be in business. At least it was clean inside. But looking at the food I can picture what the kitchen looks like along with the frozen, cold and dry storage. I guarantee I would find product that is past expiration dates. A place that cares so little of food presentation and quality can not care about what customers CANT see. Very disappointing and a waste of my money. On the plus side I didnt get ill.

I decided to be a nice guy and buy breakfast for some people at the office. I came here and picked up the order. The order was filled correctly and the woman working was pleasant. Food was hot but not fabulous, not the quality that I prefer in a breakfast place. I had a Denver Omelet but not completely up to snuff. I am used to a more flavorful, fluffier with higher quality ingredients. Next time I decide to be a nice guy, I think I will shop around.

I cannot tell you how many times we’ve driven by this place and every time we pass by, it’s closed! Worse, I have to listen to my boyfriend rave about its food, boast about his frequency of dining at the original Lulu’s on Southport, shriek about how happy he was when he heard his friend decided to expand his business and try his luck in Schiller Park; blah, blah is all I hear the rest of our drive home or to another restaurant destination. I mean, «Hello! I’m usually hungry and he wants to discuss a place that isn’t an option? C’mon! Stop being a tease and take me there during regular business hours. In case you’re unfamiliar, Southport Corridor is located in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. It is a hot spot for the young, urban, predomimately loyal Cubs fans and public transit using professionals. It’s a stretch of pub grubs, restaurants, pizza, local businesses and coffee shops. In short, it’s a great street that attracts the town locals who are nestled between Roscoe Village and Wrigleyville. Franklin Park is entirely different by about 180°. It’s located on Mannheim about 5 mins South of O’Hare. Mannheim is a long stretch of air/cargo, factories, motels, old strip malls, industrial and blue collar businesses fighting to stay afloat in this dismal looking town that seems to have once been run by a mob. The street itself is well traveled by transients passing through, avoiding the congested expressway. With that said, it’s a mystery why Demetri decided to risk it all by putting such a quaint, fully gutted, remodeled, refreshingly clean country cow themed restaurant on this side of Mannheim when just 5 minutes North of O’Hare, the gentrification of that town is already near completion. I loved it! French toast is prepared a couple of different ways. Instead of trying to figure things out on my own, I asked for my server’s help. My cinnamon apple French toast was served on thick Texas bread and baked to perfection. You can customize and substitute your toppings, even plain is OK! Lulu Belle’s will leave an impression on the locals residents, employees and transients who find their way here. Hopefully, we will have similar experiences and you won’t leave disappointed. It’s really good. Since I ordered it one way last time, I will order it the other way my next visit. I think it’s been open a year now. I hope it has sustainability. More places like this(bright, shiny and new) are needed to help Franklin Park grow and compliment its neighbors, O’Hare, Des Plaines and Rosemont.
