Some of the best Mexican food around in my opinion, and being one that had no idea about authentic Mexican food… love their beans and rice. service is always fast and friendly and I love the high tech check paying system. Prices are extremely reasonable and the complimentary salsa is rather spicy compared to other places, which is a plus for me.

I used to absolutely love this place. However, since they moved locations I feel that the quality has greatly diminished. The fajitas are beyond delicious, WHEN they are good. But, this place has been a hit-or-miss lately, and mostly misses. We used to order all of the time, but now I don’t see the point of spending so much money for mediocre quality. Plus, I feel they changed the quality of jamaica, It tastes fake, like watered down Kool aid. Really hope they get it together, because as of now I don’t see us coming back…

Love this place the chicken enchiladas are the best! Service is good and it’s exactly what your looking for if your looking for real good authentic Mexican food. Glad they changed locations. Plus la Chiquita is kinda going on the down hill at the moment and I love that place.

Very tasty steak burrito. Includes poco de gallo, which isnt The norm. I got it on the side. Tacos were tasty and a good size. 2 tacos and a steak burrito was just under 12 $. Pretty usual. I made a to go order. The inside looks very clean and cozy. Much better establishment from that gross Mexican restaurant that was there before. The menu looks interesting, particular the torta section, which included a Hawaiian torta with pineapples.. They offer juices and smoothies. I’ve ordered twice so far and ya been consistent. I think this place is here to stay

Great restaurant to add to the area. Use to be located in River Grove recently moved to Franklin Park. Food is very good. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and do not have one complaint. Reason why I give it four starts is because the waiter was a Spanish speaker I wish they would have had someone who spoke more English it would have made ordering much easier.

Ordered again yesterday, and was given an estimate of about 45 – 60 minutes for delivery. That’s pretty standard, so imagine my surprise when they were knocking on the door 15 minutes later! Food was fresh, hot, delicious and exactly as ordered. Highly recommend!

I stopped by at the new location. The parking is smaller than the old location and hard to get out of onto Grand avenue, especially at rush hour. I think the location is also smaller. I ordered some chorizo tacos and they were pretty good. Not the best but not the worst. The seating was somewhat uncomfortable. I have to come back again and try to see if they have the chicken tortilla soup which I remember as being excellent.

Excellent burritos! Been looking for a place that delivered around us for quite some time, but all the neighboring places were unimpressive. Found Zacatecas when they were in River Grove and fell in love with how amazing their food was. Then next time we tried to order they were closed — much to our disappointment. Luckily they were only moving, and moving closer to us! Ordered yesterday for their grand opening in their new location and couldn’t be happier! Delicious burritos, great flautas, great tacos! They even have great burgers and fries if you’re hankering for Americana. Will definitely order again.

Despite an extremely slight order mixup, the food is still as good at the new location. Absolutely my go to burrito joint.

This place has the best burritos and tacos I have ever had, and I’ve tried a lot of Mexican places ! Their burritos are always filled with the right amount of meat and garnishes! Their rice is delicious !! However I would have given them 5 stars if their $ 2.25 tacos actually were the size of tacos! The tacos are so small one bite and your done, which is disappointing because they are so good! Other than that staff is always friendly and the food is always good and consistent!

The food is good, the service is bad and the milkshakes are warm. A tip of 18% is automatically added for a table of 5. Did I mention the waitresses are BAD!

My boyfriend really likes the Hawaiian torta here. I hadn’t been to Zacatecas yet, so I thought I’d give it a try. The direction we come from, it’s right before the tracks – so that’s nice! We came in and the restaurant had maybe four full tables, so they weren’t that busy. I ordered a chicken torta and a horchata, he ordered the Hawaiian torta. A simple order that should’ve taken at most 10 minutes. It took 30 minutes. Flippin RIDICULOUS. They only had one cook on staff and evidently there were many takeout orders. But sweet jesus! We sat there just staring at the cashier and the cook. Would it have killed the cashier to at least apologize for the wait? When we finally got our food, we asked if we could get the chips and salsa. The dude said it was extra. BRUH. It’s free when you dine in… PLUS we waited eons for TWOTORTAS. Just give us the damn salsa and chips. We deserve it. My torta was okay; the chicken was dry. My boyfriend didn’t even receive a Hawaiian torta. No idea what it was. I feel bad for the cook. Don’t know if I’ll be back.

I was very disappointed in the food. It was, at best, below average. Pricey for what you are getting and very bland. The chicken burrito was somewhat dry and not a lot of flavor. The rice and beans were ok — I would probably not go back here. The staff was very friendly, but they need to work on the ingredients a bit — more flavor and fresher would be great. I tried them years ago and was disappointed. I had hoped they got better over the years, but still no. I may give them one last try because of all the positive reviews, but it will be a while.

I have heard good things from here and I finally ordered for pick up today and it was… FABULOUS! I had the steak taco dinner with the pickled jalapenos/carrots…meat was delicious, brought me back to those tacos I had in Mexico years ago(with lots of onion & cilantro). I also a churro and that is what i call a churro! No mall churros here lol. I definitely will be ordering again!

I’ve been going here for quite awhile but it’s going down hill fast. The last two times the soup tasted more like warm water and they no longer serve any steak on their luncheon specials. Even offered to pay more but I had to buy the dinner if I wanted steak and even then had to pay extra for the meat. The are also limiting the salsa to one small(about 1 – 2 ounces) per table… Otherwise an extra charge. Love the servers — they are friendly and helpful and I feel bad for them. Looking for a new go to lunch place.

Hole in the wall looking place from the outside that’s OK inside. Reviews on this place are all over the board. After my visit, I kind of understand why though. I stopped there early for breakfast — right at opening. Was looking for a dish that was traditional Mexican but most of the options were American style. Then I saw the Mexican omelet with chorizo. Sounded good so I went with it — came with hash browns and toast. Well, it took awhile for the food to arrive and I was the only person in the place. I’m thinking this was more of a kitchen issue than front of the house. I wasn’t in a hurry, but something to consider as a future reference if I’m looking for something quick. The omelet was like nothing I’ve seen — rather than folding the ingredients into the egg it was all infused into the eggs, making for a burnt orange hunk of eggs. While it didn’t look super appetizing, it was truly delicious — flavor like no other omelet I’ve had. The hash browns were good too, took up a good part of the plate, though they were kind of flattened on the plate too, so an average size order. I’ll give this place another try — probably for lunch or dinner to see how they stack up. Price was good — $ 7.25 for a reasonably sized order. Hopefully they can shore up the timing of their service and other issues that other Unilocalers noted.

I’ve been here twice in the last week. Both times, the food has been great! The first time I got the basic tacos locos dinner which was delicious. I never eat Mexican rice at other restaurants, but I tried it and it had a different taste. I ate some of the rice but finished everything else. The second time I went I had pozole verde, which I had no prior experience of having options with my pozole or menudo. It was nice to have the change and the taste was superb. As of right now, I would only give a 4⁄5 stars because that final star would have been for great service. While the servers were nice and knowledgable about the menu, they seemed scattered and forgetful, especially our second trip there. We had to remind her of things numerous times. She forgot my extra sides that I had ordered entirely as they never showed up to the table or on the bill, which was good for her sake. I would have hate to have been charged for food I never received.

I understand and agree that the service is pretty bad here. What they need are bus boys as the waitresses are running around doing everything. We have to get up and go to the counter to get the extra salsa and sour cream. Also on our request for a second Margarita, it arrived after our meal was over and we were ready to leave. On our last visit I ordered a small quesadilla they brought a large, we ordered chicken flautas and received steak. We do like the food, its good, fresh, and we enjoy it. But we likely won’t be back for awhile.

Food’s mediocre at best, waitresses have been pretty much rude every single time we’ve been there, and the prices on the menu are usually different then what they actually charge you. The only thing their consistent at it seems is poor service. I think it’s pretty fair to say I’m done with this place.

Writing as I dine. Expectations are high going in. I’m not sure why, other than it feels warm and inviting in the dining room and that I haven’t had good Mexican in a while. Fun music and dim lighting do wonders to make you forget that you just walked past a takeout window. Waitress was friendly and prompt. I was served some rather awful salsa and oil-drenched chips. Not so impressive. Reviews noted the guacamole so I ordered. Quite bland and probably made with lemon in stead of lime. Odd. Beer was delivered immediately, as was all food I ordered. The former served beside a frosty mug. I ordered the pork sopas dinner plate and was served a very uninspired plate with the main dish separating the rice from the beans. I will never understand this. The first time I dine at Mexican restaurants I always order pork as it’s usually the tastiest choice. This is the first time I wasn’t able to taste the pork. In fact, it was hard to distinguish between it and the potatoes in my sopas. Everything else about the main course was nice; the gem was finding the hidden pineapple wedge under the pile of crema, chihuahua cheese, lettuce, and tasteless pork. Still unimpressed. For some reason I decided to give the place a third try and ordered dessert to wrap things up. Three times a charm? More like three strikes and you’re out. Anyone can roll store-bought ice cream in corn flakes, but not everyone calls it fried ice cream. The service and the beer were the best parts of this meal; two things that I’m sure I could have gotten at BW3’s. This will be the last time I listen to the restaurant recommendations of the guy manning the counter at Super 8.

Zacatecas is an ok place to stop for a quick bite if you are in the area. We had some tacos and I had some guacamole. The tacos were ok, nothing exciting. The guacamole was uninspired at best. This is one of those places you stop when you just want something cheap, fast and not too bad. There is very little else around, so it is an option if you are in the neighborhood.
