I love 5 Guys. Burgers, good bacon, good cheese, fresh toppings, yummy fries, and free peanuts while you wait for all that. This location seemed on par to me! This is not 1) a fancy restaurant or 2) fast food, it’s a really good burger joint, perfect for lunches or(especially pre-beer-drinking) casual dinners. I don’t know if the area around this one(«the creek») gets worse at night, but during the day it seemed fine to me.

Had to write an update. I’m not sure what is going on with Five Guys, but the quality has gone in the toilet. What was once a pretty reliable burger and fries joint has now become insanely hit or miss. Some days, the fries are hot, crispy, and fresh. Other days, you get an overcooked, dried up mess. Same with the burgers. I don’t mind grease, and I recognize that Five Guys can be greasy — but their burgers seem to have an overwhelming taste as of late the reminds me of old fryer oil in desperate need of being changed. Not appetizing, and it overpowers the rest of the food entirely. For the prices they charge, it just isn’t worth it to be so inconsistent.

Well, if you like over priced burgers and a noisy environment then this place is for you. Personally, I think they are way too expensive, and that the waits are always long. However, I also do think they have a very good burger, rich with flavor, and the fries are to kill for. If going to the creek scares you, then try the rte 26 location.

Once again, these maps are incapable of understanding«Carroll Creek.» Please do not use the map as directions. Eek. The burgers here are good. Tons of topping to choose from and they make the patties when you order them. I say good because they’re nothing really to write home about(Mom, went to Five Guys, nothing to write about, love you.) The fresh cut fries on the other hand, those are worth a letter home. A real — letter, envelope and stamp — letter. The potatoes(or is it potatos) are stacked up in sacks along the side of the restaurant and every day on a board it tells you where they’ve hailed from. Usually Idaho, which it is disappointing that they don’t use Pennsylvania potatoes, but I digress. Back to the fries. These fries are yummy goodness. The regular size is HUGE and can be easily shared among two-fry loving people(who don’t mind sharing). Don’t expect fast food fries, these are the real deal. If you’re a petite gal(or guy) like me, order the little burger which means you’ll get one patty instead of two. The prices are a bit more expensive than say, Wendy’s, but the quality and freshness makes up for it. If you live downtown and plan on heading home to eat, I suggest calling ahead and ordering instead of standing and waiting.
