I found this barber shop while jumping around on Unilocal yesterday trying to find a place for my son (3yo) to get a haircut. Since moving to Fredericksburg in February, I’ve taken him to get his hair cut twice and by two different shops, the first one I took him to was definitely a no go after that first time and the second one was satisfactory but when I called them yesterday to make an appt, no one picked up even though it was within their business hours, hence shopping on Unilocal for another one. I was looking for a shop that can give him a good lineup but more importantly that has experience with kids, mainly just being patient and encouraging because my son doesn’t like getting his hair cut but the experience goes a lot more stress-​free when it’s someone he feels comfortable with like he had in Washington state from where we moved. I had called a few places from Unilocal and was still looking and then came across this place and I liked the biography of the owner and the pictures of the younger kids so I gave them a call, Corey picked up and answered any questions I had, he was upbeat, outgoing and really friendly so I decided that I would bring my son there later that day and told him so.
Their shop is downtown close to the library, we went down Caroline and missed it (because it’s off Amelia on the right side but it’s a one-​way), I called and Corey redirected us and we found it easily enough after that. We were able to find parking on the street in front of the shop, we went in and were greeted warmly by Corey, he had a customer as did the other barber so my son and I sat and waited for a few minutes. It’s a small shop but makes for a more intimate, homey feeling, it has the atmosphere of a typical barber shop, a lot of talking and joking around, laughing and feels like everyone knows each other, so I felt really comfortable in there while we waited.
The other barber, Antoine finished with his customer so my son got in his chair, they had a nice booster for him and a cute, colorful penguin apron. He was very gentle and encouraging with my son, and very polite with me consulting with me throughout how I was liking the cut so far such as the length or what I would prefer for the lineup. He and Corey answered questions about future haircuts for my son since I was clueless, when my son started getting fussy, Corey offered some incentive with a lollipop at the end so long as he is a big boy for the haircut and my son calmed down after that. Even when my son wiggled or complained, Antoine remained patient, soothing and encouraging, I never once sensed irritation on his part. The haircut itself was awesome, he took his time to get the lineup just right and I commend him for doing such a great job even with my son wiggling around and wincing every other minute.
Even though it was our first time there, I have already decided this will be our go-​to shop for my son’s haircuts. They’re friendly, patient, great location and as far as what we were getting for my son’s haircut the price is great.

I found this salon while driving through downtown Fredericksburg one day. It was the bible scripture on the front window that caught my attention. So, I went home and looked them up online. Their prices were very reasonable, so I made an appointment for my son (13).
My husband took our son in for the first haircut as he was also looking for a new barber that was closer to home. We moved to Fredericksburg about two years ago from the Tyson’s area and my husband would only allow an expensive salon in DC to cut his hair. My husband watched the work the barbers (Corey and Roy) did as they worked on our son and on other clients and decided to make an appointment for himself the following week.
My son’s hair was absolutely perfect! So many salons rush a kids cut and they miss the details; but not this salon. They make sure my son’s hair is 100% perfect every time. My husband loves the cuts & shaves he gets here as well and has made this his new salon. We have found what I believe is a diamond in the ruff.
I couldn’t be happier with the services they perform on the men in my household and we will continue to use them.
